I was hoping you would be interested as I seem to remember I sent someone Brasso, but that might not have been you.

I know you dump a lot of games and that's why it probably interests you because you get some that are matted with scratches.

I could make a video, but not put it on you tube as I am banned from their smile Maybe I will try to make a video when a friend comes around as he can film it.

FIReB4LL could you add my 9 Jap Dreamcast dumps please, and my 2 Jap PS2 dumps, if you could, Jackal said you would possibly add them as its more your area of expertise.

Here are some links to the most important products I use to repair discs.

I just thought I would start a thread to let people know how easy disc cleaning actually is.

Its easy, the discs, 99% of the time work perfectly, reading full speed all the way. No random slowdown like when it is scratched.

And finally if you do the job properly, the end product is a disc that looks fabulously clean, and it is almost or really hard to even tell it has ever been cleaned/scratched.

Its easy once you know how, and have had a few goes at doing it.

I would like to share my wealth of knowledge when it comes to this matter, so if anyone is interested let me know, and I will post the relevant info you would need to do disc cleaning with near perfect results.

The main hardware you need is a Drill (DIY), buffing pads (Car Shop) and a couple of different polishes.

And once you have mastered it, it only takes about 10 minutes to do one disc from start to finish, and most of the work is done by the drill.

The best polish for the job, is Novus Plastic Polish 2, and also a clear shoe polish, which is very cheep, the Novus2 is a bit dear but lasts a very long time. I'm on my second bottle still.

The only reason this Zelda isn't dumped is because its rare, hard to hunt down, expensive to buy, same with a million other games, some of the price of neo-geo-cd is scary, not to mention all those Naomi Discs, and practically every Japanese shoot-em-up goes for silly money, even Anime games, or Anime shoot-em-ups fetch a pretty penny.

So that leaves lots of games that need buying for redump, or you can just wait and hope some new member comes along to join the site and dump his originals, obviously that's the way for most dumpers, just hope new games come along by themselves, rather than make it one persons mission to buy every missing game for redump. I think everyone here knows some games fetch big money, and its more about waiting patiently, and coming across these dumps done by our members from time to time.

Redump = snowball effect, the more people contribute their own dumps, the bigger the snowball. Were all in the same boat dump whatever we can properly, and wait to see what we have eventually.

And I think everyone here will agree redump = big snowman. Just with a couple of Jewels missing from his crown.

Hope that explains or helps explains what were about.

99% of us here don't need a patch we are quite capable of getting any scene release, we would much prefer someone bought and dumped it, that's what we want/are about.

99% of people probably don't care about this 1 Zelda game they are much more concerned with the bigger picture, like stuff that people have gone to the trouble to dump, for pretty much every system, I know I am putting this Zelda game down a bit, that's because I don't have it or particularly care about it. And if it ever was dumped by a tall, dark, handsome stranger then I am guessing it would be fairly easy to get the dump, with a scene version out their.

Sorry about the harshness of my comments, but were going backwards not forwards, just dump the original, that keeps everyone happy. And if it is so rare that it will never ever be dumped, just put the scene version were it belongs in your collection.

axisleon I sent you a message about creating irds, and wondered why you never responded, maybe its the language barrier that put you off, maybe just maybe if you think you can deal with the language barrier between say me and you I could teach you how to make an ird, just from an iso, and redump data, that way we could get most of your ps3 dumps, would you be interested if so let me know, thanks tossEAC. and thanks for your dump submissions.

Would it be okay to make a thread showing what scene dumps match the good dumps (redump's dumps) and which don't, or would that not be allowed?

I made such lists for the gamecube, but as IR0b0t says were done with those lists a long time ago.

But they are allowed, I will dig out the links for my lists so you have an idea of how it could look, they are a good idea, and most of the wii stuff matches, gamecube not as much (and done).

Just checked the posts are long gone, I think last time the forum had a major change.

Hiccup please make a thread of your wish list of games, you can even put next to the games known scene dumps and any relevant info like hashes, I for one promise I will take a look at your wish list, large or small, and see if I can buy anything on it to dump. That's easier than the other way, and no I don't promise to buy the E3 demo, I looked on ebay and couldn't see it, but I did look, if it had been on ebay I would have considered buying it.

Also, I will soon post the info on the Wii discs I currently own.

We welcome new dumps and info, that's more like it, but no faking (promise smile)

Sound case closed, no hard feelings, its hard to answer some ones difficult question, not to upset them at the same time, and still make your self as clear as can be, I hope we have done this, just made it clear why we don't want scene stuff adding. As I said, no hard feeling, just trying to answer your difficult question, without it taking forever.

In other words it would be easier to buy the rare demo that you desire and dump it properly for redump, rather than even mention scene releases, and what we should do, its what you should do, buy and dump the games you think should be @ redump, not the other way around.

I personally have no interest in Zelda, but if it fell into my lap I would dump it anyway, what I like is shoot-em-ups, and their are loads redump need dumping, but I wouldn't want to see redump add scene releases because I know 9/10 cats hate them, so rather than ask for scene dumps, I would prefer to go and buy the games and do it the proper way. Even if it is harder to do that, due to $$$, that is the proper way.

Your best bet is to make lists of games you would like to see dumped and hope someone thinks the same way as you, and then goes out and buys what is on your list to have them added to redump. I would see no one complaining over that approach.

Sorry if I sound blunt and to the point, but that's the way it is.

No probs smile

We don't like being anything other than nice to newbies, but if you want to rattle are cages asking for scene release intergration, because some rare Zelda game, we haven't dumped, is only available in scene format, that's no worries, to most normal people, as we know one day it will come along, and the quickest way for it to come along is for someone who is madly in love with the E3 Zelda Demo, seriously, is to go out and buy it, to dump for redump, of course.

Having a change of faith, to our whole religion, over 1 silly demo, never in a zillion Zelda years.

Yes it is, because you can be sure of a good dump, and the 2nd good dump will be the same and the third and fourth.

And no, were not just listing "good dumps" we go that step further, we get the original follow the dumping guides and produce hopefully a good dump, the only time we even get to find out when we have a dump in the db that is bad is when someone comes along with the same disc dumps it expecting to find a certain value for the dump, and comes across something different, then the moderators set about finding out which dump is bad (if any) or whether their is actually an (Alt) version that is also a good dump.

ok smile

EEEEEEE sad

I have about 55 of these discs to submit in the next day or two.

How would you like me to go about it, shall I do a forum post with all the info, then once you have checked it over, I could then use the new disc feature.

Or is their no need for the forum post.

My only concern is that it so many dumps, and could have the odd error in, that's only human, I'm hoping their wont be errors but you never know.

The other thing is I'll tell you now, their is 55 new dumps to add, but I have already dumped duplicate discs for about half of them, some have even been dumped from three discs. So for some dumps their are 2 different ss.bin or dmi.bin, and up to 3 rings to read.

I just hope that you realise some have been dumped from multiple discs, and these should go green straight away, others I only have one disc of each, and I will just do a verification dump from the one disc, so some discs will be dumped twice, and other dumps will/have been dumped from several discs.

All said and done, let me know smile

You can do that, no problem.

The only thing i would like to ask you, is, to make notes of database ID to your discs, so that you can't mix stuff later.

Sound will have them submitted some time soon, I'm not sure what you mean by making notes of database ID.

Once they are added (in the database) do you want me to make a list of all the XGD3 dumps and then note the database ID, and just keep the list handy so if or when I manage to dump  the ss.bin I can then make sure it ends up with the correct dump, if so that wont be a problem.

I have already dumped them once using my kreon, I will do the second verification dumps today, and hopefully have them in the database in a day or two max.

Thanks for your co-operation in making my life less stress full.

I have a stash of XGD3 games waiting to be dumped, on my 0800 drive.

The problem is the first attempt at wiring an 0800 drive to my pc, I smoked the drive and had to buy a new one, this has left me feeling ill.

Basically the way it has to be set up with cables coming out of your case etc... etc... is just a disaster waiting to happen. I work in very cramped conditions and don't really have room to swing a cat.

The reason its making me so ill is that I can dump XGD3 on my kreon drive and that's exactlty how I will dump my XGD3 games,

I have already verified Jackals Battlefield XGD3 dumps, both discs on my kreon drive. The only thing the kreon can't do is dump the SS.bin, now XboxBackupCreator can dump clean isos without the ss.bin inside the iso, the kreon works perfectly.

So my question is can I for now submit my stash of XGD3 games dumped on the kreon minus the ss.bin.

This would be nice, and eventually when I'm feeling brave I can have another go at setting my new 0800 drive up and dump all/only the ss.bin at a later date. That way the pressure is off me.

It would be nice to submit them with the ss.bin, but I really don't think its life or death not having the ss.bin, as abgx360 can add the ss.bin if you wanted a working iso.

Please make me happy smile and ok this.

Its no different than a ps3 dump without a dkey, in fact its not even as bad as a PS3 without dkey.

Here's hoping smile

I get 99% of discs repaired using a drill, shoe polish and a buffing pad, and then novus2 to restore the surface to look and feel like new, I do have a collection of ones with deep scratches, which some could probably be repaired if your interested let me know, would be nice as some are un dumped, if you repair them I could possibly dump them.

QQ: is the SH-D162C supported for GDRom dumping?

This drive works with CDRWin, and DCdumper v0.42a using the trap disc method.

Does DiscImageCreator, use the trap disc method, as that's what I tried but it didn't dump anything?

I'm sure I had to use DIC once before for DC Virtua Fighter, but its a bit fuzzy smile long time ago.

I can seem to get it to rip Audio cds

I was trying this cmd line...

DiscImageCreator audio p "Image.bin" 8 and was getting nothing, so I added start and end sector like this...DiscImageCreator audio p "Image.bin" 8 0 286653 but it just dumped an Image.bin and then did nothing after, it didn't extract all the separate tracks.

Any help.

I was going to use DiscImageCreator to dump 2 discs on my Plextor.

Both are CD one is Audio and one is a PC Disc that came with an xbox game, pretty sure it doesn't have protection.

I'm struggling to work out the commands to use, for both discs.

Could someone paste a command line for me to use, my drive letter is P (for Plextor) smile

Didn't know that it was impossible to dump properly, thanks for telling me that.

Quite a few cheat cds are the same, do you think they will ever have a proper way or tool.

Anyone remember the pc version of bleem! 1.5b

I remember it had lots of errors and was a pain to backup the disc.

Lets say I know nothing about pc dumping.

Is it worth anyone telling me how to dump it, I will probably have to clean the disc, as it does have several scratches on it, whether this will make any difference when it comes to reading the errors, I don't know, but guess it could.

I would like to see anyway, and I'm sure the disc will polish like new so it may be worth a try.

I see no dump of bleem not even the dc version, which could be worth the investment.

Got myself a iHBS112 last night of ebay, thanks smile
