Attention
1. Before you report a bug, could you try the latest test version http://www.mediafire.com/file/eq80y20l9 … r_test.7z.
Nevertheless a bug exists, could you upload all created file except bin, iso, img and scm. And could you tell me the disc title, region, barcode and ringcode.

especiallly, the following error is fatal. Never fail to send the log to PM or to attach the log to this post.

[L:xxx] Internal error. Failed to analyze the subchannel. Track[xx]/[xx]

or the following file is error in most of the case.

<filename> (Subs indexes).cue

2. If you want to add the database of redump'org or to send the data(and log) to the other person (especially to admin or moderator), please dump at least twice using different drives and different tool.  (Because my tool isn't perfect. For now, added log string (CDROM_TOC_FULL_TOC_DATA:Length) & GetLastError().

Also, to rip, please tell me this disc title. I want to test too.

about secure extracting:
In redump.org,

Please dump all tracks at least twice (if possible, using different drives) to be sure that they are correct!

So, I don't code secure extracting especially.

Hopefully you can fix this issue.. This seems like a promising tool and it might just be what we're looking for (with Trurip being hoarded and potentially buggy, and iR0b0t's dumping tool being an eternal WIP)... It's open source, uses d8 with offset correction. Can you tell us something about the methods for 'secure' extracting? (I didn't check out the source.. does it use c2/rereading?)

Hi sarami, I've got a few issues to report.

1. I was verifying this disc with your program and tracks 12 & 13 don't match the database. I dumped it using two different drives and got the same results. However, when I dump it with PerfectRip or EAC my results match the database. The pregap seems to be detected differently, which is causing it to not match. Here is a link with the log files and subcode file: Toushinden (Japan) (v1.1)

2. As you can see from my files, the program does not keep periods in the file name (v1.1 gets named as v1). Is this an easy problem to fix or not fixable?

3. The last issue is with .ccd and .cue file output. Can you make the program not add a byte order mark at the start of the file? This makes the .cue files not match the database, and having a BOM makes .ccd files and .cue files unusable in a lot of software.

I hope you can fix these issues in a future version smile

Enker wrote:

Would be nice if he could at least get it working in Win7 x64 also.

I'm still on old 32-bit, but that would be nice for many others I'm sure. This program would be a good addition to the dumping guides, once all of the issues are fixed.

Your subcode log file

LBA[175329, 0x2ACE1], Audio, 2ch, Copy NG, Pre-emphasis No, TOC[TrackNum-12, Index-01, RelativeTime-03:36:37, AbsoluteTime-38:59:54] RtoW:ZERO mode

A bug in my soft. Probably, LBA175330 is TrackNum13 & RelativeTime00:01:74. But somehow subcode data is ISRC.
For the present, cleaning your pickup lens of drive & disc.

All three issues are still present in this version, though I didn't expect them to be fixed yet.

sarami wrote:

1. I redumped the disc at speed 0 with the new version and it produced a cleaner sub file, but the issue still remains. The disc is very clean, but there is a tiny spot I see that could be causing the issue.

sarami wrote:

2. Both your program and PerfectRip have the file name issue. I don't think there is any setting I can change to fix this. Other programs I use don't have this issue.

3. Take a look below to see the problem I'm talking about. The first 3 bytes are the issue.

It always worked on data only discs, but still crashes on any cdda/data+cdda even with 20121228. Try to dump CDDA, CD+G or Data+CDDA discs.

What we would really like, is a proper Audio dumping tool without the bugs of EAC or stupid interface/lack of multiread of Perfect Rip.

Reading into pregaps, dumping them as scrambled with offset correction, and reading into lead-out. Plextor or other drives which support same features (are there any?). Addtionally, Proper gap detection, ISRC, CD+G, and Multi-session.

Seriously, a "do all in one click" tool is not possible, although I like to see people try, and also coding dump tools. But there should be multiple tools do to specific jobs perfectly, rather than a "do it all" tool that does everything, but nothing well. There is already a plethora of such tools.

TruRip does everything in one click :-) Many glitches, but it still proves it's possible.

Could you upload a 32-bit version? I can't test 64-bit programs.

You fixed the dumping problem smile The tracks now match PerfectRip's and the database. The log still has ISRC entries though. Here is a link with the subcode and log files: http://www.mediafire.com/?yvido8a9uc88ooq

It may be beside the point...

If you use Windows7, check off below
explorer -> tool(T) -> folder option(O) -> show tab 'Do not show extensions that are registered'
(I don't use English version, so may not be accurate.)

Hiding or showing file extensions doesn't fix the issue.

Now I've got another bug to report. I noticed that the combined offset is detected incorrectly for these two Plextor drives: PX-W1210TA, PX-W2410TA
The combined offset is detected as +588 samples too big, but the disc still dumps correctly, just the CD offset is listed wrong. I noticed this in the log: Need overread sector: 2
This is set to 1 for my working Plextors, and it looks like it needs to be set to 1 for these two drives as well.
Here is a log file: http://www.mediafire.com/?5y8kdp4q42t27rj

The following errors appear before the dumping starts with both of these drives:

SCSI bus status codes:02-CHECK_CONDITION [F:ReadConfiguration][L:1089]
Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq: 05:20:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. INVALID COMMAND OPERATION CO
DE)

If you can, firmware(http://www.skcj.co.jp/discon/download/internal.html) update.

PX-W2410TA
SCSI bus status codes:02-CHECK_CONDITION [F:ReadTOCText][L: 1696]
Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq:05:24:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. INVALID FIELD IN CDB)
Can't get CDROM_TOC_CD_TEXT_DATA

Fixed to read continued
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?w1585tm93k9vso9

Need overread sector is now set to 1 after updating the PX-W1210TA (1.10), but the PX-W2410TA (1.04) still has Need overread sector: 2, which is making the CD offset +590 instead of +2.

I am still getting this error with both drives:

SCSI bus status codes:02-CHECK_CONDITION [F:ReadTOCText][L: 1696]
Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq:05:24:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. INVALID FIELD IN CDB)

Perhaps your PX-W2410TA has a bug on firmware, and the read offset with subcode reading differs from the expected. You could run CDTool to extract a image from a CDDA disc with/without subcode reading, and compare both dumps.

My wishlist for sarami:

-An option to select raw/packed mode for subcode reading. Reason: There are CDs with R-W filled with 0xFF, and real Plextor drives dump these discs awfully slow if packed mode is selected.

-An option to select single sector reads instead bursts of sectors. Reason: I have noticed that I can extract the R-W data from a CD+G error free only if single sector mode is selected (PF) with my PX-W4824TU drive, packed mode selected.

Please tell me px_d8 log & dump data to cdtoimg (about sector 1-5) your PX-W1210TA (1.10) & PX-W2410TA (1.04)
Btw, cdtoimg link (http://vigi.dremora.com/cdtoimg.rar) is deleted? reupload(http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?9b31r4fv44eut36)

Please tell me disc title. I want to test.

Btw, when read subchannel using at "plextor read cd command(d8)", can't set raw(001b)/packed(100b). In case of plextor drive, it can set from 000b to 011b.
If set 000b, don't get subchannel, if set 001b, get a formatted Q subchannel(16byte), if set 010b, mainchannel(2352byte)+PtoW subchannel(96byte), if set 011b, PtoW subchannel(96byte). subchennel is Corrected and de-interleaved R-W(not raw).

Also, this tool is reading per 1 sector in case of CD.

I have a few of pressed CDDA discs with R-W filled with 0xff bytes.

The Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
Hot Hits - Adventurous New Music Sampler (I have dumped this disc for redump.org)
Launch - Back to Abnormal
WipEout 2097: The Soundtrack (dumped for redump.org)
Acclaims Raving X-Mas (dumped for this project)
Doug Laurent - Half-Life

Additionally, the Cyberwar (US release, the four discs) game has only the T subcode filled with 0xff. Same issue as above.

I can reproduce this issue with any CD I have mentioned, a real Plextor drive (I own PX-W4824TU, PX-716AL and PX-755SA) and this software.

-CDTool, 100b mode selected. (001b isn't affected)
-PerfectRip, 100b mode selected. (001b isn't affected)
-The subdump program offered for this site to dump subcodes, if -mode 2 or 3 is selected. -mode 0/1 dumps at normal speed. According to documentation of subdump:
0 - 96 bytes, subs only (BE).
1 - 2448 bytes and excluding 2352 data bytes, leaving 96 sub bytes only (BE).
2 - 96 bytes, subs only (D8).
3 - 2448 bytes and excluding 2352 data bytes, leaving 96 sub bytes only (D8).

-Your DiscImageCreator program.

Read speed is awfully slow, more or less one minute to extract 600 sectors at 24x speed.

If you don't own any pressed CD with R-W filled with 0xff, you could create one home-made filling the R-W of sub file from a ccd/img/sub CloneCD image with the r2wfill program. r2wfill file.sub 255 and burning that image.

Which do you have UK(9362-459012) or USA(945901-2)?

UK(9362-459012). I show a MCN frame from my disc.
