yeh that's weird but that's the correct way to do because the pre-gap belongs to the next track, take a look at this topic: http://forum.redump.org/topic/4675/question-about-gaps/

This is normal. I've seen original discs mastered by Nero, Easy CD Creator, Gear and many more programs...

Yes, it doesn't affect the dump. It's for documentation only and sometimes to label the version of the dump (early date ->v1.0 and later date ->v1.1 and so on).
Just don't forget to set the date in IB to local time stamp.
BTW, this topic is in the wrong forum  smile

I 'm running out of "easy dumpable discs" - i own a lot of discs that i can't dump because they have a big negative offset and i have no way of dumping GG discs so i think i have na choice than to start dumping 360 and DC stuff (mainly new entries)  big_smile
When i have some free time i might try to dump some DC verification dumps to see if i got matching results...

I've been checking all my covermount games and i've skipped a lot of discs to dump. Some of them doesn't have audio tracks (when they should have), some have the filesystem modified (ex: 2004 filesystem date in a game from 1998; "NEW" as volume label, etc), some have extra content (i have this game http://redump.org/disc/2051/ but since it's so small the magazine decided to fill the disc with demos), and many more cases... I only dumped the ones that sounds to me like the original release (or the re-release).

I think those discs should be carefully analysed before dumping or else we will end up with 20+ versions of the same game.

I think you should add the size of the WII double layer discs and it was cool if the guide Organic wrote was merged with yours (put all the methods in one post only).

Thanks for the guide, Rocknroms, it's good to see you in action again  big_smile

It seems that this is a emulator issue and that's nothing to do with our naming convention.

Dumpers needed  big_smile  !  but please note that systems like CDi, Jaguar, NeoGeo CD... can't be dumped properly due to dumping issues (ex: subchannel protections, multisession discs...).

To see those rows you must install any hex editor (i use HxD) and open the image you dumped with it.
The game version is indicated in the eighth pair in the first row (if 00-> v1.00; if 01-> v1.01 and so on)

Take a look at this examples:

http://redump.org/disc/1413/ v1.00 and http://redump.org/disc/5010/ v1.01

And to get the game languages change the bios in the GC or in the Dolphin emulator and run the game to check if the language you selected is supported.

For more info see this topic: http://forum.redump.org/topic/77/gamecube-dvd-dumping/

You are right, i think that most people think that dumping discs with audio tracks is complicated but it's not! after a couple of dumps to see how the offset "thing" works we are ready to go  smile

I understand the 3DO and the Amiga stuff, but the SAT i can't understand because it was hugely popular back then (at least in here) till 97/98 and then Sony took off (if i recall well, in here, the turning point was the release of DB and FF7).

It seems that noone gives a f#ck about SAT and MCD dumping... most dumpers only care about PSX, but i think that this situation is changing.

Disc redumped, everything matched  cool

Every dump that i verified matched the DB so this must be working  smile
And it can't be that problem because the track is about 5 min long, and the errors starts occurring at 22% of extracting.

The offset of this disc is 0 (i'm dumping it with +48) and this drive supports overreading (but only for the lead-out) and the Isobuster solution didn't work (reports errors), but this is definitily a drive issue because in my other drive the track is extracted and EAC don't even had to make error correction but as a said in other post the binaries aren't created in that computer so i only can check the crc that EAC reports.
I think i will extract the track with isobuster in the other drive and then combine with the bit that was dumped in the first drive to see if i can get a matching crc.

Anyway, thanks to all of you  smile

I flashed the drive to the latest firmware (1.10) long time ago.

I tested that and it doesn't work. It doesn't matter the speed i choose, the drive reads always at 1900kb/s ( i tried in the dos prompt and in the frontend).

I think that the speed in this drive can't be reduced manually.
I recall trying a lot of methods when i was trying to get all the libcrypt sectors in 1 psx game and i had no luck back then...

I was trying to dump a pc game (Quake II: Ground Zero)  but EAC has having problems dumping the last audio track.
When the extraction of the track is at 22%, EAC starts doing error correction then sometimes it reports error (when the 4 rows of red lights lighten up) or EAC freezes and the disc keeps spinning in the drive.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
Ah... i forgot to mention that the disc is as new.

Thanks.

There are a lot of GC dumps with wrong langauges, here's an example: http://redump.org/disc/1419/

Rocknroms, since you are making or updating the GC dumping guide, don't forget to mention that the dumper should check the languages by changing the bios to the various languages.

It's better to post the dump info in the "dumps" forum, that way you will be added as a dumper for that disc.

I always assumed since I'm not a "dumper" and didn't know how to become one, that I couldn't contribute.

Anyone in this project can become a dumper, it's only needed to dump original discs using our dumping guide and post the info in the "Dumps" forum, then after a couple of dumps Admin. will give Dumper status.

I've dumped ~10 GC discs and all have matched the crc/md5/sha1 here on redump.

Since you are dumping all those discs, you could post that info in the Dumps section so they can be added into the database, because there are a lot of GC discs with only 1 dumper (and even if there are a lot of dumpers for the discs that you are dumping, one more doesn't hurt  smile  )

Nope, no error at all. just checked the discs in a cd player!

This is normal, look at this games, they all have that same track:

http://redump.org/disc/3494/
http://redump.org/disc/3509/
http://redump.org/disc/3508/
http://redump.org/disc/3507/
http://redump.org/disc/2852/
http://redump.org/disc/3909/
http://redump.org/disc/3235/

Now i understand... and after all, the bytes that we use to count the offset are in the begging of the gap (if we use ReMove), just one more thing to clear this up: if those bytes (the rows we use to calculate the offset) are removed from the data track and if they are not present in the first audio track then what's the deal? those bytes don't exist in the real disc and are generated by the drive?

Anyway thanks for the explanations, i had this idea bugging me since i started dumping discs with audio tracks  lol
