Can anyone write an audio cd dumping tutorial?
I mean a disc with no data track on it. Soundtrack disc - audio only.

Thx smile

I've asked the same question on the forum and I was informed that you dump the audio cd using the read (drive) offset related to your cd-rom (http://accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm). So, it's easy. smile

1. Start EAC smile. If this was the first time, then make the necessary settings (see "Setting up EAC the first time" - http://redump.org/guide/cddumping/)
2. Insert CD
3. Press F4 to detect gaps
4. Open the drive options (EAC -> Drive Options or press F10)
5. Change to the "Offset / Speed" tab and change the value in the 'Read sample offset correction value' to the one related to your drive (http://accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm)
6. Select Action -> Append gaps to next track
7. Select all tracks
8. Press Shift + F6 (or select Action -> Test & Copy selected tracks -> compressed from the menu)
9. Select a directory to rip the files to and press ok
10. EAC will now start ripping the selected tracks. When the extraction is complete, a 'Status and Error Messages' window will appear
11. Be sure to click the 'Create Log', as this .log file is mandatory information!
12. When ripping is done, the Read and Write CRC columns should contain equal CRC numbers!
13. After extracting, create a cuesheet. Do this by selecting Action -> Create CUESheet -> Current Gap Settings

Sometimes it is important to look beyond the first and last sectors for data too. If you find you must adjust the offset to include them. I adumped 2 audio cds with +98 and +50 offset because of this reason.

I have dumped two soundtrack CD (http://redump.org/disc/11887/ and http://redump.org/disc/11865/) and I did not knew I need to check for data beyond first/last sector. I think a tutorial is needed ASAP. I need to be sure that my dumps are 100% correct because I sell my games after I dumped them.

Using Append Gaps to Next Track the gap is written in the beginning of the track.

This might look the most "natural" way to store the gaps, but actually its very odd. Usually the gaps are silences, so it's a bit weird for a track to start with a silence, instead of ending with it.

Also, when you use the seek button in any standalone player, for, say, Track 3, it will begin playing the Track 3 - index 01 (aka 3rd song), not it's 00 index! The only way for you to listen to the 3 secs pregap is to listen all the way from Track 2. The player will play Track 2 - index 01, then the pregap. When the pregap is playing, the player will display negative seconds: -0:03, -0:02, then -0:01).

So, if the only way to listen this gap is by playing track 2 until the end, it makes sense to say that the 3s pregap actually belongs to the 2nd track, not the 3rd! (even if in the actual CD layout the 3s gap is called "track 3 - index 00").

yeh that's weird but that's the correct way to do because the pre-gap belongs to the next track, take a look at this topic: http://forum.redump.org/topic/4675/question-about-gaps/

"Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?"

Dont forget we dump headerless and tagless, these bins are meant to be accurate regardless if they are not convinient for playback.
