Re: .sbi ? how to post that file when submitting a new dump ? (8 replies, posted in General discussion)
Yeah, this one was really dumped by MOONLiGHT with me giving the instructions. I am sure he followed them correctly and precisely since he really wants to help the project, so I submitted his dump for him, stating in the submission that he's the dumper. He's got the disc.
All the other RE dumps I've submitted are my dumps, and more are to come, but unfortunately, I don't have the french versions of these games

Haha, great job! RE3 French
It was provided by a fellow collector, since I don't have the french version, so I'll be tagging him as a dumper for his generosity, that's the least I could do to thank him

So, I've got a disc that's libcrypt protected ... is it enough to scan the disc
with the psxt001z tool and send the log file, or do I have to do anything more?

Re: DVD-Video Dumping (5 replies, posted in General discussion)

Topic: So how are these new PC DVD games dumped? (7 replies, posted in General discussion)
You know, the ones you buy in 2009 ? They often have various kinds of protections and stuff.
I am not asking any warez questions here, I don't care whether the game will work or anything,
I am just wondering how to do a proper dump that can be added to the database?
For example of games with a securom protection?

Hello there,
if reading the sector view in isobuster gave me offset +8
and my drive in accurate rip has offset +6:
A) What offset do I enter in the EAC when ripping?
B) What offset do I submit to the database?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Detecting offset on 1-track IBM discs? (6 replies, posted in General discussion)
Can you please, as the last thing, tell me, how isobuster decides whether it will use .iso or .bin extension?
I've been dumping a lot of ps2 games before, so I always used "extract user data", so .iso file.
But in the extract raw data, it says (.iso / .bin). I am 99% sure that it doesn't really matter and I can just rename the file extension to bin, it just have to be 2352 bytes/block, but I would really like to know why it says iso / bin ...
This should be explained in the guide.

Re: Detecting offset on 1-track IBM discs? (6 replies, posted in General discussion)
OK so I don't have to mind? Because I want to dump some rare resident evil pc versions and they all have only 1 track, data, and my both drives offsets are +6 according to accurate rip. The md5s match perfectly from both drives.
I don't know how to detect the disc offset, but if you say it's not critical and it's fixed automatically, then I guess I can miss it.

I agree as well. Update the guides in English, I can do a proper Slovak translation then.

Topic: IsoBuster 2.1 or 2.5 ? (3 replies, posted in General discussion)
Hello everyone,
In the ps2 ripping guide you refer to IsoBuster 2.1, while the latest version is 2.5.
Is there any reason you refer to the older version, thus we should still be using it,
or is the guide just not up-to-date?
Thanks in advance!

Topic: how to dump a DVD movie (released with a game) (3 replies, posted in General discussion)
Hello all,
I'd like to do a proper dump of a DVD that was bundled as an extra with Resident Evil Code Veronica X, the DVD is called Wesker's Report.
On it, there are just these .vob files, meaning the disc is dedicated for a dvd player (or playstation, respectively).
What's the dumping process in this case? Do I just insert the DVD into the reader and extract its track with isobuster, or is there something more to it?
A help would be appreciated as I'd like to add the disc into the database as well.
With regards,
RiMMER

Re: So how do I compare my dump vs. redump.org ? (4 replies, posted in General discussion)
Thanks for the answer, but If I get it right, HashTab only shows crc of a file itself, but redump.org database states crcs of every (data / audio) track inside the image file. How do they do this ?

Topic: So how do I compare my dump vs. redump.org ? (4 replies, posted in General discussion)
Hello there,
this may be a noob question, because I'm new to this area, but I don't think I'm a noob, actually, so really just a very brief description will do and be greatly appreciated!
When I check this online redump.org list, for example this game:
http://redump.org/disc/633/
It says what crc / md5 shall the original copy have.
So if I have some image file on my hard drive, how do I check whether it matches the same numbers?
What app do I use to tell me this info about my image?
Thanks a lot guys and keep up the good work!
