Depends on the system but, tracks 2+ are generally Audio CD tracks (redbook). Splitting them allows for more accurate dumping via write offset correction.
This also allows for comparison across different releases, as some tracks will often / usually match for the same title.
You can dump as IBM PC > DVD-Rom in the DICUI settings.
Also, I believe SOME protos are formatted in the regular Xbox manner, but MOST are standard DVD-Roms as iRobot said.

Ideally we'd like to confirm there were no damaged sectors during the dump. Do you or SolidSnake11 know who owns the disc so we can confirm with them? A known bad dump rom of this has been on the internet for some time, so we'd like to get a confirmation on quality, perhaps by the current owner of the disc, if trackable.
I also have a rare pre-9/11 dump of SpiderMan 2: Enter Electro, for PAL. Dumped with CloneCD

Lots of press kits have been dumped lately, and more are to come. I suggest if there's any plan to split the dat for them, do it soon please and add them.
PS: "Press Kit" = a full kit containing Press Asset discs, Games, Demos.
"Press Assets" = a disc containing Press Assets.
My vote is for naming the new dat "Press Assets".

Are Ringprotech discs accepted in redump? I was under the impression they were not due to imperfect dumping. Ideally it's best to dat the best available dump anyway?

He's already bought two copies in great shape. One won't even get recognized by the computer.
I got an answer from yiles via DM. He said he bought 3 or 4 copies before he found one that worked.
Bumping this old post because I wanted it documented somewhere that decrypting Wii U CAT-R's is a different process than standard Wii U retail discs.
To decrypt you must use DiscU.exe app (currently the dev has chosen not to share this publicly).
USAGE
DiscU.exe game.key game.wud
place game.key in the same dir as it with that command.
game.key is any dev key (since all CAT-R keys seem to work interchangeably).

It's always been encrypted DVD-Video into redump. That's how the guides have always specified them too. DVD Decrypter was just used as a mechanism to check if the disc had protection. Now that DIC/DICUI supports properly dumping them this should be less ambiguous, only accept discs dumped with DIC/DICUI for DVD-Video.
Hi sarami, i've noticed Xbox One and PS4 discs no longer have the layerbreak info in _disc.txt
Where is this info? We wish to retrieve it for the DICUI output file for easy new dump submission.
You must contribute new dumps / verifications to get advanced permissions via "Dumper" status
LoStraniero91 has been a tremendous help with wiki notes, but it doubles the work if I have to do the edits. He's very accurate and does a lot of research on serial numbers. Thanks.
I'm trying to dump a demo with a video partition from another region (Europe) than my PSP (USA) with UMD Killer. Fake Region didn't seem to help on CFW, it just goes to a black screen. Any advice?
