Just wanted to update everyone to keep an eye out for these known versions that need dumping.
Medabots Infinity (USA) (v1.00) DOL-GM6E-0-00
Medabots_Infinity_GC-TRIFORCE
Metroid Prime (USA) (v1.01) DOL-GM8E-0-01
no scene release exists but it is a well known revision
A note to all new dumpers/members please check the ring codes for all your NGC games. There could be more (v1.01) or (v1.02) revisions out in the wild that we don't know about. If you have something that doesn't match redump or is out of the ordinary please feel free to contact me or post about it here. If anyone has a disc they can't dump and would like to loan it out get in touch with me and we can work something out. I have no problem returning discs to their owner after I have dumped it.
Edit: Got lucky today and found two missing versions.
Conflict - Desert Storm (USA) (v1.00) *dumped*
Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time (USA) (v1.00) *dumped*
bsbt wrote:Every game released in the USA has now been dumped (minus alternate revisions and demos). Congratulations, and thank you to everyone that helped achieve this significant milestone!
Just wanted to send my congratulations and thanks to all the dumpers who helped get this set complete. When I started redumping NGC back in 2007 I had no idea a full retail set would be completed this fast. I'm amazed at the hard work and dedication the NGC redumping team has shown. This set proves that with a strong team any region can be fully redumped to completion.
Let's hope this set motivates our friends in the PAL region to get that set complete. I know you guys have more language dupes then the USA set but there is so many of you guys over there it should be super easy to complete the PAL set Good luck to everyone from the USA team on their next endeavours. I just might have to set my sights on the NGC Japan set now
MrFaust wrote:is this method faster than dumping with rawdump 2.1 and one of the LG drives?
Superdump is a lot faster. It only takes 10mins to dump NGC and for Wii a single layer game takes 20mins. Rawdump is like 60mins for NGC and a couple hours or more for Wii.
kiczek wrote:Since moderators are already adding [ADDED] to dumps that have been added wouldnt it be better to instead move those topics to a seperate subforum ?
For example
Dumps
˪Added Dumps
It would make the forum much more readable and allow the current Dump Forum to instead of being 86 pages to be readable
Agreed. There is nothing wrong with adding a little more organization to the site.
Yea the situation sucks Nintendud and unfortunately the ops honestly seem to be showing no interest in the matter at all. Hopefully like you said your ip will change and you won't have to deal with it anymore.
LiiZENZ wrote:tested superdump a few times (7 Wii , 23 NGC games) and all dumps matched my RawDump dumps.
Yep same results with me all the games I tested with SuperDump match the ones in the db that I dumped with RawDump. SuperDump is pretty awesome with it being able to dump NGC in about 10mins as opposed to RawDump taking 60mins.
I joined #help and asked if they could help out with the problem and pasted a link to this thread. I saw Stalker-X in there as well so people are trying to help you out man don't think that we aren't.
Thanks for posting this list bsbt it will definitely come in handy when searching for games to dump.
bsbt wrote:I just dumped Rockband 2 and Wii Sports Resort today, this will hopefully clear things up. I will be adding them shortly. All my dumps are done using Superdump, as I mentioned in my first Wii dump post:
http://forum.redump.org/topic/4773/adde … -usa-v101/
I encourage people to redump my dumps which didn't match the scene releases. I'm pretty confident in them though, as my methods/hardware/software have been the same for my 200+ Wii dumps. We can't say the same for the scene releases.
I'm confident in your dumping methodology too. I just started to experiment with Superdump and it seems like really good software to use when dumping from the Wii. Keep up the excellent work your dumps are really appreciated.
HA HA Haldrie
My reason being is Haldrie's dumps of Rock Band 2 and Wii Sports Resort are bad he should man up and remove them because they aren't doing any good in the db besides causing confusion.
Thanks Rocknroms I think I understand where your coming from. I agree I think dumping by wifi is a bad idea and maybe even dumping using the Wii all together but that needs to be tested more.
user7 wrote:yes, update guides or make a wiki and let us do it!
Excellent idea.

This is why the mods of this site need to update all the dumping guides to help avoid issues like this. We know what hardware/software produces good dumps and what doesn't. I still can't believe in the PSP dumping guide it still says to use UMD DAX Dumper Beta 0.2 seriously WTF. I've asked many times for this to be changed and no one listens. So every new PSP dumper that comes to this site thinks umddax produces good dumps which it doesn't we know it underdumps. So they dump with that and submit their data. Due to the lack of updates to the PSP guide there could be many bad dumps in the PSP section.
My point is there are all sorts of methods and tools one can use to dump a game but there needs to be a standard at redump.org that guides people on the methods WE use to properly dump games.
ps2gamer2k7 wrote:i have always used the wiikey dump disc and all my ngc games and wii and many of mine match
That could be the difference when dumping from a hard modded Wii vs. soft modded. I know that Haldrie dumped his discs from a soft modded Wii so that could be the problem right there. We need more confirmation but it looks like dumping from a soft modded Wii can produce bad dumps.
Rocknroms I'm not exactly sure why you are questioning the OneUp PROPER releases? What are you using to compare against the PROPER releases the others that got nuked? I'm hoping you can clarify this a little bit more.
Wow very nice offer if you were in the states I would gladly dump those for you. Hopefully one of our euro dumpers will contact you. Wish we had more people willing to donate like you.
Awesome post layzee I've wanted to find out the same information about game revisions myself but it's definitely not easy to find documentation. This type of information would be a great addition to this site since a lot of us dumpers myself included actively hunt for different revisions. It would be cool to know what's changed between each revision. Looking forward to what else you find keep us posted.
I'm not sure what you were using as a reference but this site could make things much easier to create a miss list http://sonyindex.com/
Rocknroms wrote:Finally, in my opinion unusfull data has not to be preserved unless you want to make a full DB including everything about a game disc.
I completely agree Rocknroms and thanks for your reply.
We now have two proven methods for locating the version of a GameCube disc. It's printed on the ring code of the actual disc and it's located at offset +7 from the beginning of the dump. A difference in CRC32's is going to first alert us to a variation between two dumps so assuming the two dumps are good the next step would be to compare the ring codes version number and if those aren't available verify by checking at offset +7. So I fail to understand the reason for DOL MD5's checksums why would you ever use this information now. It even generates the same checksums for Disc 1 and Disc 2 of a game containing two discs. How is this helpful in anyway?
Coming from someone who dumps a lot of GC discs it would save me time not to have to rename my dumps then go into DOS just to check the DOL MD5 unless someone can give me a reason for it still to be useful. I'm sure at the time it was a useful tool and I appreciate Organic's effort but now the information it produces seems unnecessary. I would like to see ring codes mandatory for submission of new GC dumps and DOL MD5 optional.
themabus wrote:well, this site might be - on the paper. but when you look at it, what's really happening -
ther's no way to trace back those images to actual CDs - how is this an preservation? it's an charade.
This type of thing has been discussed before over at No-Intro http://forums.no-intro.org/viewtopic.ph … amp;t=1331 and I'm sure in other dumping groups as well. Unless you want to make "themabus dumping project" where the only member is yourself that is the only way to guarantee that every image was dumped from an actual retail disc. FitzRoy from No-Intro said it best "The only person you can trust 100% is yourself."
A friend of mine brought up a great point when he said a lot of people could care less about where a dump came from or how the dump is tagged they just want a clean copy of a game to run in a emulator. The dumping community will always be small it always has been this is not a hobby most people want to get involved with because it either takes special hardware, it's expensive, it's "too hard", or simply the desire to do so is not there. So holding back dumps from your fellow dumpers just because you want more people to dump or you don't agree with the naming scheme is just low. This hobby will never be mainstream and it will never be perfect. Accept it for what it's trying to do and continue foward.
kiczek brings up some really vaild points and I agree 100% when he said "If you arent planning on sharing your dumps why share your hash information?." Dumping disc based media is tough because a lot of the discs we purchase and dump are used and rarely if ever in new condition. Sometimes I have to buy multiple copies of a disc to get a good dump because the previous discs weren't suitable for dumping do to scratches or abrasions. Consider yourself lucky themabus that you have been so successful in getting complete dumps from import media.
Throwing up a ebay link is laughable give me a break man my point was that dumping imports is expensive and it's not guaranteed that the disc you purchase from ebay will be suitable for dumping. It seems that the only reason your holding this little protest is because you have dumped some games that are hard for people to obtain and your using that as leverage to get what you want. Pretty sad man it definitely says a lot about your character. Oh well your going to do what you want to do and everything said here is just my opinion. If you take a step back then that's fine there will always be someone there to replace you.
themabus wrote:oh ok, i see
i'm sorry about that, but i won't upload anything anymore
i hope those missing images would motivate people to redump them and join project
maybe they would see things as i see them regarding naming and would somehow accelerate an decision
that may be stupid, but about only thing i can do
Wow pretty selfish act man and I hope we don't see this kind of pointless protest from other people on this site? I don't see the point in hoarding dumps in hopes that more people will redump EXPENSIVE hard to obtain discs from Japan? The last thing this site needs is dumpers not willing to share because of some personal protest.
This site is about disc PRESERVATION. BadSector isn't some leecher collecting images just for himself the guy makes a great effort to distribute dumps to help ensure preservation. Redumps will come in time and more people will join and help as time goes on. For the sake of game preservation I hope you reconsider your stand.
Thanks for the lists this will sure make hunting for undumped games easier.
Yea your right r09 a.b.o.g would be the proper place for PC redumps. I totally forgot about that group thanks.
For me personally it's way easier to upload dumps as I go and I don't see any reason to wait just for a naming convention as it's up to the end user how they want to tag their collection. When I upload to usenet I follow the no-intro naming out of habit but I also include [Redump.org] in the header of my upload so people know where it's coming from and that it's a good dump. Besides people can always retag their collection later on down the road if no-intro starts maintaining a disc based dat.
The earlier we start posting dumps the faster these good dumps will spread and more people will take interest in collecting good dumps from redump.org. For now I would say post to which ever group your dump belongs and tag your header with [Redump.org]. Here is a list of groups to post to...
PC - alt.binaries.old.games
PSX - alt.binaries.cd.image.playstation
PS2 - alt.binaries.cd.image.playstation2.dvdiso
Gamecube - alt.binaries.cd.image.gamecube
PSP - alt.binaries.sony.psp
Wii - alt.binaries.games.wii
Xbox - alt.binaries.games.xbox
Everything Sega - alt.binaries.emulators.sega
Everything Else - alt.binaries.emulators.misc
I totally agree Haldrie that we need to get these redumps some better distribution. We need more dumpers with access to usenet. I am willing to upload anything I redump to usenet. Usenet is 100% secure and you don't have to deal with slow speeds and stupid ratios like you do with torrents. Plus with torrents many isp's monitor your bandwidth and even cap it. If there are enough people willing to upload to usenet we could even charter our own group like a.b.c.i.g.redump or something like that where we could post our redumps to. I think usenet is the place to start if we want to get our redumps spread.
Looks good I will definitely give this a try. Also anything to help simplify the dumping process for new dumpers I feel is always welcome. Thanks for sharing.
