I think I'll pass, if no one is going to define rules that universally apply, I'm not going to waste my money to see the category get nuked over a change of heart.

That's the broader question. Is "just karaoke" (iKTV / CD-G, etc) a "game" / should we dat it here?
My vote is yes. But I got a feeling it will be up to iRobot. Either way there is no gameplay functionality difference between iKTV and CD-G karaoke, so the decision should be the same on both.

They need the subs to properly function, so redump should either add the subs for download or include in the dat.
I was chatting with Fireball about Karaoke and whether that would fit in here at Redump. While the Kiss-Site has video game functionality (scoring), iKTV and CD-G do not. So if iKTV should be in redump then so should CD-G, they both lack any kind of additional video game functionality (then it goes without saying, that if one of the two should NOT be in redump, then the other one shouldn't either).
Wikipedia: "Karaoke is a type of dining interactive entertainment or video game developed in Japan in which an amateur singer sings along with recorded music (a music video) using a microphone."
IMO this is enough to qualify for me. Thoughts on allowing Karaoke CD-G entries or removing iktv? Executive decision iRobot?

Still having issue with latest test version. Possible to add disable checking for lead out?
Add "Press Kit" to Common editions/releases checkbox for PC. No point in me having to type it out for the thousandth time.

sarami, i believe the ability to properly dump PS2 unlicensed discs has once again regressed. Everytime I dump I get a different hash. This issue seems to get fixed and regress once a year for the past few years.

Also reminder that bad/cheap USB adapters will fry your disc drives. This happened to a few of my plextors before I caught on (because they would work sometimes then randomly fry them later).

There is another one on ebay, expensive but I bought it.
Returning to this old discussion. The second copy arrived and dumps fine with DIC. It is the same hashes that the old one was getting out of IsoBuster.
It seems DIC is more sensitive than IsoBuster to triggering c2 errors for some reason.
I don't think I'm going to be able to justify buying a new scanner for this, so I'll have to make do with the only one I've got, which is an HP ENVY 5660 All-In-One. I've scanned plenty of things with it in the past and never noticed any obvious problems
As co-author of that scanning guide, let me assure you that scanning is very much a diminishing returns kinda thing. I'm sure your scans are fine for by-and-far most general reference purposes. That said, redump does not deal with scans - archive.org is a good place for them to live.
