PX716 is no c2 error.
No C2 error but "main error" txt is why i thought mastering errors.
7th Guest CDi is dumping differently on Plextor 716 vs 755. Many dumps, same results when i dump on same drive - but results don't match other drive.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fV22FM … sp=sharingMy edition is White Label Demonstration Disc, but has the same ring code as retail http://redump.org/disc/78871/
But different hashes.I see this in command line:
Checking sectors: 307875/307875 [ERROR] Number of sector(s) where bad MSF: 2 [INFO] Number of sector(s) where EDC doesn't exist: 297394 [ERROR] Number of sector(s) where mode2 NoEdc subheader(0x10 - 0x17) isn't same: 1
Asus /mr dump fails on a clean disc https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MeBc5R … sp=sharing
I think Asus just doesn't like CD-i mastering errors?
This Plextor dump matches redump and has the fewest main errors, I think it may be correct? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ltSRfY … kt6ey/view
At least one other version of 7th Guest has these same-looking main errors which makes me think this one is dumped as good.

Asus seems to not dump CDi with disc image creator at all. Something you can fix? <3

LBA 2174 has 2352+16 bytes? Due to this sector LBA 2175 ... last are all shifted.
If possible, try to dump other drives (plextor CD drive or 0xF1 drive of ASUS firmware).
Asus does not help (;_;) bye 100$
I think Mad Dog is onto something, can you investigate more discimagecreator app for a fix? Two Plextors, One Asus, no good dump https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IMkgwh … sp=sharing
Good research. Well for now, I've moved the tutorial to the "Discussion" tab of the PS3 dumping page wiki if anyone wants to do more testing.
http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … unZ_Method
I broke it out into it's own section.
>Hopefully, with this added to the wiki, more people will try out dumping with MGZ and comment on it.
Any tools I can link for the downloads like Multiman "Tools" section has? That might help.
I see you're a newer member, you've tested this method and make sure it matches redump dumps? I guess we should have started there.

I noticed that the 708 dump of mine had less "MainError" than the 755 dump, also 708 dump matches http://redump.org/disc/24962/
But I have ordered an Asus for this and the VCD discussed previously in this thread. We shall see if you're right.
>(The rest of the instructions should be the same).
Can you tell me what exactly? I want to recopy / paste into the new wiki section.

I'll need a step by step bullet form if you want me to update the wiki. To someone who's never done this method, it just looks like gibberish.
If it's an alternate edition, alternate mastering code, alternate region, only has one dumper, is missing basic info like a barcode.
If none of these are true I don't waste my time.
Similar disc on another Plextor model - https://ia801807.us.archive.org/view_ar … 20logs.zip
So we've tried with 3 Plextor models. If you think it's worth a try, I will buy an Asus.
Regarding several VCDs which are showing up with mastering errors in DIC - example https://ia801809.us.archive.org/view_ar … 20logs.zip
This seems to be a pervasive issue with VCD so it would be monumental if it could be fixed :3
Maddog believes he knows what the issue is - "I think there's some disagreement between where subs say the data should be and where TOC says the data should be." Could this clue help? It would save many VCDs worldwide
user7 wrote:Arrington redumped mine, but different hashes. can you have a look at his logs? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UcoQAu … sp=sharing
Same ring codes
Total errors are different.
Arrington had repeatable dump results. This means one of the dic builds gives different results from another?
I will ask him to dump with an older build.

If it has a black bottom you probably can't dump it correctly.
If it has an indigo bottom try dumping with the /sf flag. Good chance it will have 4000 or so errors up front, but as long as it dumps twice with the same hash it's a good dump.
user7 wrote:Dumps reliably with Isobuster on two computers.
Does it mean you also have Scooby-Doo! 2.0.0 and dumped it with plextor using DIC?
Shit no I misspoke. I meant to say he dumped with the asus
user7 wrote:It's just that one game (Scooby Doo), no problem with other iXL titles.
Then, his Scooby Doo is bad. (It has real c2 errors.)
Dumps reliably with Isobuster on two computers.
I ordered a iXL disc. It will arrive on 5/1 - 5/12.
It's just that one game (Scooby Doo), no problem with other iXL titles.
I'm not seeing those drives listed as compatible unfortunately - http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … F_CD-Audio
Worth a shot I guess? Not sure if they'll be accepted though. CDI's sometimes (not rarely but not often) have mastering errors, which make having a proper drive extra important.
What missing CDi titles do you have out of curiosity? I've been on a CDi binge lately.
Sarami,
I have a very rare CDI disc on loan, Fireball says to look at error logs please. Anything to fix?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ytisOj … sp=sharing
dumbed with 716 and 755 - same hash results.
If you have the key, just re-encrypt them. voila
Anything game related - like demos or does the video include gameplay / reviews?
Please give this man a wiki accnt he's been helping me behind the scenes ^^
The idea behind dumping section 40 as one big chunk relates to the read momentum required to power through the trickier sectors. In other words if you slice it too thin you'll likely never be able to dump some sectors in their own small chunk. That's the theory anyway.
