They are not hard to do, just for considiration.

Renaming all ISOs in the dats as MDFs. They can be mounted and burned the same as ISOs and it is convinient for those who use MDS.

Use a fixed date on all "roms" in the dat, for consistency with differerent archive formats.

Thanks.

Dont forget we dump headerless and tagless, these bins are meant to be accurate regardless if they are not convinient for playback.

Sometimes it is important to look beyond the first and last sectors for data too. If you find you must adjust the offset to include them. I adumped 2 audio cds with +98 and +50 offset because of this reason.

Maybe it was used to burn the first master disc. idk but i need to find out about this, I allways thought that nero-made images were fake and not clones. maybe i was wrong.

maybe we can make a list of the cdmage information somewhere.

So by chance I checked my Unreal Tournament 2003 dump with cdmage 1.02.1 and it was mastered by Nero___Burning_Rom  big_smile

Is it possible Nero is used for pressed discs? Seriously or is it a cdmage bug or something.

The problem with emulators is the multi-track format, you have to mount. Delete poweriso is useless crap, use alcohol or DT lite, it worked on Win 7 I assume it will on vista too.

And PC games run fine, even the majority of protections. And remember that an image doesnt have to be a pakkiso'd bin/cue. Thtas what most people hate, it can be anthing, clonecd, alcohol, as long as it matches. But thats another discussion, we can talk about it off the forum.

when you dump a single image with EAC it creates a new cue automatically. "test & copy image & create cue" is called. its similar to clonecd cue.

After you do that, mount and redump again as i it was an actual cd in an physical drive. same settings in EAC except leave the offset at 0. And check the pregap o track02. It will be very fast process since it does that from the hard drive. I allways do it with my personal backups.

I'll give it a try thanks, but from the looks of it, it definetely needs more features. I understand is still v1.0 but atm I don't think it can replace clrmamepro. And I hate that thing.

BTW are you interested in a dumping software too?  smile

Yes the gaps are previous, EAC 0.99 prebeta 5.

I dumped with next for testing and it worked, it was mountable. but not with previous.

when I try to mount it gives me the following error message "Alcohol Emulation Core : No starting index was defined for the previous track"

Here is the EAC cue

I need an index 00 for track 1 ? If I understood correctly, but what?

I have 2 discs they piss me off, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Clone Campaings and Lemmings Chronicles.

The star wars disc has 1 data and 1 audio, the plextor drive reports a 0 secs track 2 pregap and the LG 2.01 secs. the first track 2 sector is 125999 and shows garabage. the pregap has data but i dont know if they are data sectros, audio sectors and how many seconds.

In the lemmings disc both drives report 3 secs pregap, but the first sec has data and the last 2 00s. I dont know if they are data sectors or audio sectors. I dont know how to read subs. The first sector of track 2 is 44675. - 150 sectors at 44525 has garbage.

so i post the subs of both and if you need more info tell me.

I did checked the list but except the toolkits which the rest are add-ons. So maybe an add-on category would make more sense.

I was thinking that since dvd video discs and multimedia interactive discs have their own category one more wouldn't hurt. In fact it might even be better for organizing. Like Aftershock for Quake, or the D!Zones etc. Right now they are all in the Games category. But these are not game discs, they are tools and more levels and they are also sold seperately not part of a game package. So maybe they should be seperated or at least move them to Applications or Cover Discs.

Yes but what I mean is that you have to manualy add a bunch of 00s in the beginning of the data track?

A question about cdlock, where is the pregap of the data track (track 4) goes? to the begining of it?

The problem is when someone tries to make a backup of his game and not be able to see the ring code he won't know if he has the same pressing as the one submitted. What if it doesnt match and he thinks is bad?

You are not going to achieve anything. Alcohol wont give their format open like that. Besides you still need to verify each track seperately. And subless mdf=img=bin. And i dont know if mds handles multi files.

I was thinking recently but didnt post it maybe dumpers should provide an extra checksums for the single-bin or .img file of a game. At least for verified (green) dumps. By mounting and redumping with clonecd. I tested this on a game recently and of course redumping it from the virtual drive with the same settings in EAC except 0 offset. It matched.

Think about it as a accuraterip database for games.

I know this has happened to everyone, when you log to the site to see the dumps and then leave, the forum's new posts are makred as read and you miss them! So i have to manually check every section to see the latest post dates.
