Here is the beginning of Track 1 of Prelude

It's normal. I dumped "Caesar's Boxing (USA) (Demo)", "Dimo's Quest (Europe)", "Dimo's Quest (USA)", "Zenith (Europe)", "American Fork Art no Sekai (Japan)". The scrambled 1st sectors of these discs are the same as "Prelude".

Thank you, please submit dumps if you can.

Do you know why this one has so many errors?

Also there is strange behavior with Alien Gate but there are reproductions on the market so someone else was able to copy it. I have bought one, coming in the mail to inspect http://forum.redump.org/topic/31588/cdi … e-dumping/

I saw this pattern for the first time.

At least, there are 4 patterns for the CD-i.
1. single track and non-pregap in the 1st track and fulltoc says CD-I (normal CD-i or CD-i DV disc)
2. multi-track and non-pregap in the 1st track and fulltoc says CD-I (some CD-i DV disc? http://forum.redump.org/topic/31491/cdi … emo-disc/)
3. multi-track and pregap exists in the 1st track and fulltoc says CDDA (normal CD-i ready disc. Dimo's Quest (Europe)
http://redump.org/disc/35804/ etc.)
4. multi-track and pregap exists in the 1st track and fulltoc says CD-I (some CD-i ready disc? (I only know Dimo's Quest (USA))

2. is not supported yet.

Possible to have a look at these logs? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pM0Kmb … sp=sharing

It came with CDi discs but is called "Photo CD Sample Disc" and has .PCD files. But only one track. No c2 errors and dump matches isobuster. But has Sub errors.

Fireball says this bug must be fixed http://forum.redump.org/topic/22563/phi … mos-quest/

DIC is dumping scrambled now, previously it did not dump scrambled (Dimo's Quest Europe).

This bug exists since sometime before 20190326, whenever DIC stopped outputting to SCM.

I was confused with its .cue, which says the track is CDI (= MODE2/2352) instead of audio, thought it was descrambled. I've never seen the actual image.

CD-i Bridge (Video CD, Photo CD) and Rainbow CD discs are also CD-i, they have different 'patterns'.

Ah, yes.
5. multi-track and non-pregap in the 1st track and fulltoc says CD-ROM XA (normal Video CD, Photo CD)

I assume it's 2. Because "The Cranberries" has multi-track and non-pregap in the 1st track and fulltoc says CD-I.
To test, I ordered it by Amazon.com

Amazon also has a CD-MIDI disc if you still don't have one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009I8K9G

Already bought it in August. I also used WinUAE and connected USB to MIDI port via Sony MDM-X4, but didn't hear the MIDI sound. Sub R..W of this disc channels have almost CD+G, not CD-MIDI.

I moved the scrambled sector to _maininfo.txt
LBA 0 to 4 has offset 3540 and LBA 6 to 10 has offset 3652.

Everything is fine with Sangokushi, btw, sectors -150 to -1 have offset 3652, then it goes a piece of garbage data, then it goes a user data area (sector 0 and further) with offset 3540, so it has a problem in its pregap similar to Saturn +588/+1176 discs and Gulf War/Lip 3, it's not like Mega CD Silpheed demo with user data area issues.

DIC fails to start dumping because it can't find the write offset. Logs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16lhvTk … sp=sharing

TOC is weird. Try to dump by the other drive.

I have bought a 716A to test, same result.

Logs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jNBuzi … sp=sharing
Disc is this one: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Op-Jach … ase/789208

Detects multiple tracks, but Track 1 is not Windows filesystem, so DIC has a heart attack? xD just a guess.

@sarami

FMTowns disc is showing very weird behaviour.
Cuesheet :

FILE "MARTYMEDIA (Track 01).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE218/2352

please take a look at the logs:
the offset looks strange so the entire data stays scrambled. the CUE is wrong, it's just a mess.

Warning the Logs ended up being ~ 200Mb

- fixed: check the offset twice when the combined offset is over 1 sector.

No, it's the disc or the drive problem.
. Change the disc. (There is a possibility that the lead-in area is damaged.)
. Change to the 0xf1 drive. (There is a possibility that Plextor does not support the disc.)
. Try to use the swap command. (The reason is the same as the above.)

Very strange difference. Same ringcode, 2 different dumps:

http://redump.org/disc/25734/ - logs from 2017: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ce4b73luc … fo.7z/file and 2019: http://www.mediafire.com/file/qonu94lfb … se.7z/file (.cue not included but matches db)

http://redump.org/disc/73543/ - new logs: http://www.mediafire.com/file/pkf96uk40 … en.7z/file + http://www.mediafire.com/file/1nw1uf9iy … ck.7z/file (slower speed and /s 2)

This sector is data according to subQ ctl byte, but it's track 02 according to subP. Which is correct?
2017 and 2019 build only refer to subQ ctl. 2020 build refer to subP and subQ ctl (subP is given priority over subQ ctl in this case).

Why change the behaviour after so many years? Now if people dump a disc, they will get different results as before.. this is very worrisome

The earlier dump is incorrect.

Jackal wrote:

subQ seems more relevant to me than subP always.. and with this dump you get a 02:00 pregap with 1 scrambled data sector (very odd) when subP is given priority, or 01:74 with no scrambled data with subQ.

The very first sector of the gap is EAN, subQ doesn't tell which track it belongs to in this case. Previously, it was needed to analyze manually to decide which track it belongs to, now DIC additionally checks the P channel in this case.

Jackal wrote:

I will discard the 2020 results in favor of the old dump.

Old dump is wrong, Nexy has added it without rechecking and other guys haven't checked its gaps as well.

I think LBA 50680 belongs to track 03, but current latest DIC treat it as track 04. How do you think?

Yes, bad mastering leading to P-channel vs Q-channel disrepancy. 00:02:00 gaps by the P-channel, 00:01:74 by the Q-channel. You can probably write some log message when P-channel and Q-channel gaps differ.

Maybe to write both gap sizes into the log? Something like "P-channel pregap size (00:02:36) vs Q-channel pregap size (00:01:74) mismatch [37 sector(s)]"
