Re: Shining Force CD question (23 replies, posted in General discussion)
Yeah, I did to a no gap track 2 and that's what I got... I just did it to a 1.74 gap track 2 and this is what I got from that..
2,116,800 bytes
These are the instructions I followed:
psxt001z.exe --gen pregap.bin 352800
copy /b pregap.bin+track2.bin tr_new.bin
Looks like my last track is bigger then yours and your track 2 is bigger then my other wise they match?

I don't know how to change bytes into sectors to see if they match, this is with 2 seconds taken off data, and a 2 second gap for track 2
Hopefully I am done with Shining Force

Re: Shining Force CD question (23 replies, posted in General discussion)
Ok, to make sure I got this right, redump the data track and take off 352800 bytes.
dump track 2 without pregap and add a 2 second gap to it?
EAC and Perfectrip both gave me 1.74 gap for track 2 and 2 second gap for every other track.
I just got done dumping the audio once with EAC as I don't know the settings for perfectrip, I just used the default to get the pregap for track02 would that change the gap at all because they aren't the correct output settings?
EDIT: Ok, redump data took out whole 2 second gap and matches your size

So, vigi if I see this from now on it will be 12 bytes? "3D431FF162C4E7D372DDE599" is it the number of them there or what they are that says 12 bytes there? I would like to know so I don't have to keep posting.

So is that 139 * 16 + 8 = 2232 /4 = 558(Fixed read offset?)
558 - 1176 = -618 so factory write offset is -648 (+30 read offset for drive)
I used the cdreader tool and the same sync/header was on sector 2.

Re: Shining Force CD question (23 replies, posted in General discussion)
PR a27 with not correct output settings but read offset correct, gives track 02 a 1.74 gap, so how many bytes would I take off track 01 with resize then? Do I take off 306936 bytes?

Topic: Shining Force CD question (23 replies, posted in General discussion)
EAC gives a gap of 1.74 for track 2
When looking in sector view in ISO Buster, the 150th sector back from track 02 has nothing but ff ff ff on the top, going ahead to 149th before track 02 gives a device read error.
Doing the d8 command the read offset is 252, does having a high offset effect the gap at all?
Is it safe to say that track 02 should always have a 2 second pre-gap?
All other tracks have a 2 second gap.
Also in the guide it says to fill with user data if there is read errors at the 99% point does that go for sega-cd games also?

Re: Offset detection using the D8 read command - Discussion (67 replies, posted in General discussion)
Yeah, it showed junk for other cds, with the new plextor when I tried to dump it I got read errors so maybe that is why it didn't show before for the +102 drive I have to try and get it resurfaced.
I have another question, for the shining force cd at the 99% point I got read errors in the guide it says to fill with user data does that go for sega-cd games also?
EAC gives a gap of 1.74 for track 2, when I try sector view with ISO buster 150 sector has ff ff on top and 149 sector back gives a device read error, do you happen to have perfectrip so i can try that gap detection?

There is 63 * 16 = 1008 /4 = 252(Fixed Read) - 30 = 222(Write Offset)
Is that correct?

Re: Offset detection using the D8 read command - Discussion (67 replies, posted in General discussion)
Ok, I did the d8 command there is 8 rows of data so 32, accurate rip says my offset is 30, so write is +2, I wonder why my other drive and ISObuster wouldn't show that info? In the header or whatever it's 200, so I don't have to do anything extra correct?

Re: About "bad" headers and image errors (24 replies, posted in General discussion)
Ok, is there anyway to check for mastering errors before you dump the disc? I have another question theres been a couple of times when one image had an error on a certain sector and the other image had a error on a different sector they was both repairable with cd mage but wasn't noticed with psxt001z so I repaired them with cdmage and the checksums was the same after that, was that dump bad?

Re: About "bad" headers and image errors (24 replies, posted in General discussion)
What does this all mean to us dumpers? We can't check for errors at all? Dump the game twice one image gets no errors in psxt001z and cdmage the second image has one repairable error which if you fix gives the same checksum as the first does that mean the second image was correct and the first one wrong?

Re: Is this the correct way to combine tracks (3 replies, posted in General discussion)
Yeah, it's psx games that I want to combine. When I did 'copy /b' all the tracks together and loaded into daemon tools and looked at it in ISObuster it just listed one track instead of the multiple tracks like if I put the cd in the drive. But I have a question are you supposed to use the .cue somewhere in there because doesn't that contain the layout of it?

Topic: Is this the correct way to combine tracks (3 replies, posted in General discussion)
I am trying to combine tracks to my dumps so I can convert them to psp format to play on that. Is it 'copy /b' because when I do that it combines them all into one track but it doesn't display them like the original cd, is that how it's supposed to be?

Topic: Dumping Wii Games (1 replies, posted in General discussion)
I thought this can be worked on by the Wii dumpers so new people can have a nice guide to follow. If you know a way to dump it properly via SD card please add it here. Especially how to find version number for the SD method! Once complete maybe a Mod can make a clean one and lock it.
"Use a LG-8164b or LG-8163b or LG-8162b or LG-8161b dvd drive. It might even work with other hitachi drives with GDR in their name (just try, but don't complain)."
RawDump 2.0 (Needs .net Framework 2.0 installed)
Step 1. - Start Rawdump 2.0 first
Step 2. - Put Wii disc into optical drive and click start dump
Step 3. - Check size, has to be 4,699,979,776 bytes
Step 4. - Redump the game and check size.
Step 5. - Compare checksums and if match report it to redump.org
(I don't know what the consensus is on the internet about having to dump twice if the game matches the exact size it should be good, I just dump it twice as you can get the same size with other system disc but different checksums.)
FriiDump 0.3.0 (Image is put in the FriiDump 0.3.0 folder)
Step 1. - Install FriiDump 0.3.0
Step 2. - Open cmd
Step 3. - Go to folder C:\Program Files\FriiDump 0.3.0
Step 4. - type in friidump -d <drive Letter>: -a
Step 5. - Check size, has to be 4,699,979,776 bytes
Step 6. - Redump the game and check size.
Step 7. - Compare checksums and if match report it to redump.org
No one has any other ways to dump wii games to share?
