It's better to use reMove (http://www.mediafire.com/?q1mbksntoje) like this:

remove -size=150sec "Track 01.bin" temp.bin

150sec if pregap is 2.00 seconds / 150 sectors (you can use also bytes or samples).

Then delete temp.bin if everything is ok.

I'll fix everything left, posting also new subs in the weekend.

To avoid errors on offset detection, make a check with this (thanks to Dremora) if you have a plextor and use px_d8. The mod should report right combined offset and you can check it with the standard px_d8.

Wii Dump SD v1.3

http://caitsith2.net/wii/

After installing a new ide controller to support 4 drives fo DC games I got everything messed up (the reason why I have problems with Lite-on in DC thread), the 2 drives attached to new controller are checked as scsi. I tried to fix it, but now also plextor is seen as scsi and I cannot do anything (any program says it's a drive not supported!).
From what I can find probably everything is messed up because of virtual drives, I'll try to fix it otherwise I'll have to format pc.

EDIT: I fixed the MB ide channel drivers, anyone know if it's possible to have a right detection on drives attached to a pci-express card with that stupid jmicron controller (even on CDfreaks they said to let the stardard drivers, but with a card it seems it's not possible)?

What's about other subs taken with PR? Good/same 1-sector offset before the 2nd track/zeroed sectors before the 2nd track?

yes, but Cyberbots is the only one with zeroed sectors.

T-36102G here is Whizz (this sub confirms at all 2.02 pregap) ---> old sub missed Q-AFRAME=01 and repeat it at the end of pregap.

T-26101G here is Gusson Oyoyo S ---> old sub missed Q-AFRAME=46 and repeat it at the end of pregap.

There's no frame/sector missing, it's only messed up.

It is. In your case, there's a sector missing between track01 and track02, it can be the last track01 sector or it can be the first track02 sector. If it is the first track02 sector, gap should be 1 frame larger and 00 index should be 1 frame earlier, so it is important.

There's nothing missing, for example in Cyberbots Q-AFRAME=68 is missed in count and repeated 2 times at the end of pregap. Probably it's a Alcohol bug mixed with sync errors (by the way I have to understand why you point at a bug in the drive? You have a proove? Maybe all PX-760A has a problem?)

Here is the sub taken with PR. Q-AFRAME=69-72 are zeroed
T-1216G

F1ReB4LL, I probably understood what you are talking about. It might be because of Alcohol, by the way, again, it's not a problem of the drive and it's not important to detect right pregap manually (if it's a problem with new tool you are talking about, you might have same problem with sync errors). I'll make new cues with PR as soon as I have time (along with the other ones you required).
Yes, EAC has a problem detecting postgap, my cues are made by PR.

Subs taken by iR0b0t were enough oo verify EAN problem. I too see that they are not right for a complete analisys like other ones, but there was no dat-audio to check or more complex situation, so I don't see any problem. iR0b0ts dumps are right.
By the way for archiving it's better to have sub in the correct way (ps: I prefer to use Alcohol instead of CloneCD, this progam is simply horrible to install and use).
I confirm again, as said by Jackal, that Cdreader stops extraction at the end of data track on 99% on mixed CDs).

The SS games that have to be checked again with a new dump are these:

http://redump.org/disc/2674/
http://redump.org/disc/3811/
http://redump.org/disc/3315/
http://redump.org/disc/1629/

and Gale Racer, but if that sector is pregap (if it syncs with audio but it's data) it must stand in audio track (like for some CD32). Simply look at sector on CD.
Magical Hoppers has clearly a data sector moved of +30(+wo) on a Plextor, so this is part of audio track. It's a sector, it' in pregap. If you play it on PC you hear a "clink", but on real machine/emulator it cannot be heard. Moreover, it's not a game audiotrack, but the copyright stuff. Indeed, if a dumped game has a "clink" on a game audiotrack and you hear it in gameplay, probably we can have even a bad dump or a signed disc.

About verifing discs with ring code ending with C XX, this is a loss of time because it has already discussed that those discs are "strange" (multiple alternates, different pregaps, different write offsets, etc.).

all those long terms could be expressed with abbreviations.

This is what I don't like too of no-intro renaming. Until 2 years ago they used abbreviations.

IMO every progress is a step to hell and every stand is a possible step to heaven.
I think your renaming idea could be another step to arrive to fail to something like tosec naming convenction:

On UG many people wants languages, versions, etc. in the dat.
Here and there other people wants to use no-intro naming.
And so on and so on... mix those suggestions and you'll have a game name with 500-1000 chars.

Take care that your thougths can fit also for other systems, imagine a Saturn disc renamed like this. By the way the problem you want to solve affected only a very liittle minority of games.

I think the best thing will be to have an offline db.

Kyutenkai is ok.

What's inside the first sector of that 02:01 pregap (i.e. in the last sector of the datatrack, if we assume the pregap is 02:00)? I have Gale Racer (already dumped, ring is the same) http://redump.org/disc/3027/ - track02 pregap is clearly 02:01, but that sector contains pure data, which shouldn't be in the pregap. Unscrambled 0 sector also shows +222 offset, so it shouldn't be +810. We should either leave it as 02:00 or add that doubtful sector to the pregap, like it was done in similar cases with CD32 - http://redump.org/disc/3872/ and http://redump.org/disc/4032/

Sector is empty (0x00), but I'll check again in weekend.
By the way sometimes data is present in pregap, but you can see it by sync after calculating write offset. Ex. Magical Hopper has first sector of audio track as data (it's the only one I found), it's shifted exactly equal to write offset with data track.

No-intro is oriented on Jaguar preservetion, but only cart software. If you can dump correctly carts not yet avaible, it will be good to preserve them for no-intro.

1. Can the dumps be used by NullDC & Makaron?

Yes, confirmed (I tried it too) on NullDC. GDI is some kind of cue so I haven't ever understand the doubt about working or not.

Sorry, I don't understand the matter. If they differ in serial number and differ in checksum, serial number tells something. If you mean that SLES instead of SLED is odd because you could not understand by serial that it's a demo, I concern. But if you know it's a demo, it will be tagged as "(Demo)".
By the way, normally serial on disc is primary unless dump matches a previous or parent release.

Thanks iR0b0t

I will edit this post while I check:

1) ClockWerx (J) (Track 05-06) has to be fixed ---> Track06 first sector is 0x02

2) Sega Rally Championship (U) (Track 04-05-06) --> Both track have first 2 sectors (preg 2.02) at 0x00, so they are part of pregap. By the way on Q-SEC coloumn they have 0x02 (I don't know if this mean something and there are 2 dumps matching, so I think it's right).

Jackal,

You're sentence about wo detection you added on d8 command thread is not true for SS games. Simply look at Gunbird: old method reports wo=+1176, d8 reports wo=0. The second is right because disc has sync and mastering errors (the same is for many other discs, Dremora's mod of px_d8 prooved it because you can find offset only where you have real data).

What do you guys think?

Each naming has its advantages and disadvantages.. when we last discussed it I think most people still preferred the current PSX naming because it also included serial.. also, imho I think having the languages in the filename is superfluous..
PX-760A for life

I quote.

EDIT: it wil be usefull only if you have more EUR release with different languages.
For example "Beyond Good & Evil" GC (3 euro releases with different languages to fit the game on one mini-dvd).

[!] is useles if you are archiving perfect dumps only. No-intro does the same.

I say it again and I'll say it again. Most (or all) of track02.raw of tosec DC are bad.
Moreover you may have no loss of data for audio pregap, but you have it for data pregap.

I've tried again 2 days ago to dump a GD, I used also forceaspi to reinstal aspi, but I have no luck. It takes too long and I got only 0x00. As soon as I can I'll format my pc to see if it will work.

Checked both games left from my dumps.

Kyutenkai is ok.

Whizz seems the opposite of Gunbird, here is the sectors between data track and pregap. For more details look at my explanation above.

I will check the games tomorrow. About Whizz it should be ok, I wrote it in a previous post.

About dumps that cannot be redumped, a owner can make a copy (or mount it on DT... or use the method you used for Gunbird) and check if these sectors are 0x02 .

PS: Remember to check Kof96 wink

Edit: F1ReB4LL, some games you have listed above may be checked, but serpentine pregap is not a hint for EAN sectors. Normally EAN sectors (as it's found until now) reports 0 sec pregap on PerfectRip. I will put this games in a separate list.
