Plextors are the best of course smile They can read lead-in lead-out and high offsets to ensure proper dumping.

I PM'd you more info about where to get a Plextor.

Happy dumping my friend... efforts have renewed lately for a PAL PSX fullset and a dumper in Italy is great for us. Let me know if you have any questions. I wrote the dumping guides and would be happy to clarify anything.

Welcome Lizard,

Your drive works for dumping PS2 discs (DVD ones only, not indigo-bottomed CDs). You will need a Plextor for PSX discs and other CD-Roms.

Dumping guides are here http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Dumping-Guides

Thanks for the info. My original adapter was a Cheap chinese one from Amazon with many good ratings.

I ordered this one earlier today to test https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U … &psc=1

Next I will try that one if these this new one doesn't work.

I also tried on my second Windows 10 laptop similar results.

Hey guys I've got two Plextor PX-716A drives that show up when plugged in under "My Computer" but PSX or PS2 discs are not appearing and Windows says the drive has no media.

I have the drives hooked up via a IDE > USB Adapter (including a power supply). On a laptop with Windows 10 64bit edition. I've tried "updating drivers" via Device Manager but says Windows has the latest drivers installed. I've already manually assigned a drive letter.

Anyone have experience with an external Plextor drive on Windows 10 that can shine some light or confirm they had no issues with a similar setup?

Also, don't those public betas belong in the demos section?

The PS2 public betas that are in redump are not in the demos category. I never played one of these so are they just demos? If so maybe the entries already in the database should be updated.

For whatever reason Public Betas were not on the miss list. I've updated the miss list based off the PCSX2 wiki. Happy hunting!

DIC should work on Sega Lindbergh games? They're DVD...

I found one on eBay for cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-Arcade-LIN … Sw3YNXYtxa

Thinking about buying.

Transformers: Director Cut (SLES-53309) today that is undumped and wasn't listed in the wiki.

PAL and Japan lists were built from sonyindex.com (woefully incomplete for PS2!), really the miss lists need to be rebuilt from the PCSX2 wiki list https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Complete_List_of_Games
The redump.org PAL/Japan lists are still missing demos!

Plenty of undumped PS2 USA demos though! I'm picking these up bit by bit, but have been focusing more on PSX Europe demos lately (have about 4 dozen coming in soon).

This guy is a legend.

Glad to have you here Jason! Feel free to ask away if you have any questions.

Hey Predaking,

Redump is for disc based systems only os it won't have NDS or GBA games (see no-intro.org).

The original PSP is disc based so redump does have it.

Edit: PM'd for more details.

Great feedback, I've implemented all changes best as I understand.

> size and hashes are in .dat file (doh)

I'm guessing this isn't for DVDs? I only rip DVDs and the .dat contains none of this info.

Thanks ack, already have that in the CD dumping guide and added the colors as useful http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … e_Creator)

Still unclear about:

  • When to use other commands such as d8

  • What to do for secure-rom etc

  • Where to find file size in DIC output txt files

  • Where to find checksums in DIC output files

  • Where to find layerbreak for PS2 DVD-9's in output files.

Hi user7! I appreciate very much your guide for newbies as I find DIC difficult to use, and the DIC's main thread with 44 pages became impossible to read!

Thanks so much! Glad to hear it's useful.

escarlata wrote:

For example: what difference would it make to run DIC with the "CD" or "DATA" parameter?
Also, could you describe when to use the other parameters? Like /c2 /d8 or whatever

I actually don't understand this myself, part of the reason I created the guide was to ask for help figuring this stuff out. It's extremely confusing! sarami did a great job on creating the app, but for less technically skilled a little more explanation would go a long way. Any wizards reading wana help out w info? / I'll update the wiki with anything posted here.

escarlata wrote:

I guess I need to launch DIC with specific parameters according to the disc's protection.
Can you make a list of what to use with each? Or at least the most common one? SafeDisc 1, SafeDisc 2-3-4 and SecuROM

More questions I would love answered. Right now I'm not even sure the proper command to dump a PS1 disc.

Dumped two PS2 DVD demos today and the contents where about half the size of the actual iso, what's going on?

Logs Attached.

Great feedback iRobot, I will implement on this guide as well as the CD dumping guide today.

Can you give me feedback on any other issues with the CD dumping guide? http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … e_Creator)

^ Especially when it comes to commands for dumping PS1 discs because I have only dumped DVD discs so far.

Also, if you could add these guides to the Dumping Guide list would be superb http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Dumping-Guides
Or grant me edit access to that page.

Hey guys, I'm creating wiki guides for dumping with DIC starting with DVDs. Any feedback? I want to simplify this process for newbies http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … e_Creator)

Data goes here: http://forum.redump.org/forum/11/dumps/

Look for old dumps to use for examples OR just look at an entry in the database and submit the same type of info.

Has the redump top brass considered doing a Patron for hunting down rare games and maybe server fees? It seems like some of the older consoles are slowing down with new dumps as mostly rarer (and more expensive) games remain on miss lists.

If one is set up I would be happy to contribute. It would get the attention of other outsiders who are not savvy enough to dump as well.

Thanks, I'm in!

I've just finished the exhaustive process of updating these lists for any collectors out there that might find them useful. These lists should be 99% accurate.

If anyone is using other reference lists and wants them updated please request as a reply.

good idea, possibly a naming scheme for audio tracks that allow different region cues to share them as well.

for example
Title (USA) (Track 1)
Title (Japan) (Track 1)
Title (track 2)

etc, assuming the audio tracks are the same.

ok i see, some other people might have trouble noticing this. btw what is up with the lists of dumped discs? isnt that what the database is for?

GBK can you stop revering my edit? theres no reason the lists should not be linked to the main page of the wiki, considering they are important and the only content up atm

PSX lists were added to the Redump.org wiki and I would like to see additional lists added as well so we can keep a tab on everything that remains to be dumped.

still missing demos, i'll offer a 25 GB bounty for each missing one on Underground Gamer
