Requesting a dummy account for "Forest of Illusion" so their dumps are searchable in the db

Yeah, it's definitely a frustrating experience for everyone, but we're doing the best we can given the current situation. And the data is being backed up by multiple people regularly just in case, so that's not an issue.

Yeah they pull pre-filled data from the site for verifications more or less

The site admin has been ignoring all user/staff requests, it won't happen.

No, unfortunately they have to be submitted manually.

TV commercial CDs with songs made specifically for that commercial seem to be fine

Staff hasn't come to an agreement yet on what to do with "official" titles that don't follow standardization, and honestly I don't think we will come to an agreement.

CD-R Enhanced CD (Multisession)
Errors out the entirety of the data track, dumped twice with same hashes.
Data track is functional on the actual disc, so it is not a burn error.

The ones with Roman numerals were done by mods that tend to do things their own way or do just their own dumps.
This is a standardization thing.
Disc A/B/C are fine. Roman numerals get turned into the corresponding number.

People doing things their own way results in a mess, like above...

The required program, DiscImageCreator or MPF which uses DIC, has a whitelist for CD dumping that is almost exclusively Plextors.
You won't be able to use any random drive unfortunately for all CDs.
There are experimental blu-ray drives that can dump CDs, but they are *not* recommended at the moment.

DVDs however you can use any DVD drive.
BDs can be dumped with most any BD drives as well.

Latest DIC produces an unusable multisession .img and data track, tried several mounting tools, data track appears empty in Isobuster.
Alcohol 120 creates a working image. Isobuster dump also fails.
Issue present since at least Nov 2021 build, haven't tested older.

Giving the possibility to the dumpers to attach a zipfile or editing the already submitted (before adding to the db) would be also a nice option. smile

Believe it or not it's already been requested by staff... we're stuck with an admin that only does one thing every few months unfortunately.

I can't pin threads so, bump

@user7

That's a different topic than what's being discussed
KashtPR is saying that when the generic "America" filter is used it's missing USA, Brazil. The reason for this is that it instead appears under the generic "Twins" filter.

Not a "fix" for dumps, mods can't do anything about this.

Moving to General to try and get admin attention.

Recommended by me to help populate the Japan wiki pages, this user has extensive knowledge on Japan-region titles.

You can't correct it, I'll handle it, thank you

Just now noticing this thread

Ring discs are for advanced users, and if you're not willing to dump them I understand. Unfortunately this is the best method to dump these discs.  If you're unwilling I recommend avoiding these discs or sending them off to a friend that's willing to.

Plextors unfortunately are terrible at reading into these rings, and the SOHD listed is the current best known drive to do so.

If you want someone to guide you through it I recommend talking to Jackal -- he helped me with my few discs as they're not common in the states.

Reentrant: Thanks for the explanation on those, I'll add that to the wiki soon.

Moving this to another section as it has gone beyond the realm of fixes

Here's my logs as well, I don't have an 0800 so the SS.bin for the ones that require it are not valid.

User was using outdated July version, latest DIC has a fixed cuesheet, but it is still scanning the .img instead of .bin as mentioned above.

Cleaned up the tags to the ones that had more entries
Moved:
Asia, USA -> USA, Asia
Asia, Europe - > Europe, Asia
Japan, USA -> USA, Japan

And moved the one Europe, Germany entry as it is pointless (Two Europe regions = Europe region, not Europe, Region)
Europe, Germany -> Europe

I requested iRobot to delete the empty tags

We've been discussing how to handle Audio CDs with data in the lead-in/lead-out when dumped at the default offset of DIC (See: http://redump.org/disc/28088/), and would like to ask if it's possible to:

*Scan lead-in and lead-out for non-zero data
*Calculate required offset to include data
*Prompt user (Y/N) if they would like to offset correspondingly
or
*a flag for this option, which MPF can implement as a default flag for Audio CDs (With a warning when flag not present)

Please let us know how you feel about implementing this or if there are any issues with this method.
