they are random

I think its a machine number on which they were pressed, I would say the first thousands number (7,11) is machine#, the rest is reserved for some other unused purposes.

so, for everybody using Lite-On SOHD-167T

be warned to NOT to use values OVER 440000 when extracting ranges partially, try to stay below 400000
(the firmware has a bug)

you may use extractions from 44990-400000 and then 400001-549150, then it will be fine.

indeed Ghazy,
and in case he is using XBC (Xbox Backup Creator), then i would not worry to much about mismatching SS files.

if you can answer the following 2 questions with YES, then it is probably okay and you can continue dumping ))

  • are you using XBC for SS.bin (Security Sector) extraction ?

  • don't you using "Unlock Drive" before extracting the Security Sector ?

could you provide some info about SS extraction tool, extraction options, etc.

ss.bin example file would be useful

ICE output is also needed to determine the high density area write offset, as some discs can have different write offsets on LDA & HDA !!!

here is an example http://redump.org/disc/16727

So, how do you want them to be sorted ?

IMHO they can not be listed in many regions as it would be a mess, so i created a new region filter.

Tell us what you think, any ideas are welcome.

For those who are interested in these systems, EXE date time info can be taken from following files:
- FM towns (sector 16 header, if not present file "RUN386.EXE" in root folder)
- HyperScan (file called "hyper.exe", disc root)
- Playdia (files with file extension "*.GLB" or "*.AJS", disc root)

The rest is hard to define and has to be approved:
- CD-i (file called "path_tbl", disc root)
- Pippin (file called "system", disc root or in a folder like "system%")
- VCD (file called "ENTRIES.VCD", inside the "VCD"-folder)

its not about static value, i need much place to place everything we need in wideness.

is just a survey to see how much screen viewing limitation users with lower resolution would have.

and value which is used mostly counts  wink

from what I read here on the forums at least one person has dumped a DC game with httpd-ack and null padded it

Linky please?

Further both Redump and Tosec put this information and binaries out in public...so exactly whats wrong with using this stuff? Less it's simply a matter of ego...which really is the only way I see this.

Both dumping methods are to different, no serious group will accept converted data therefore.

Nologic wrote:

I guess I should be more to the point...If I did create converted dumps would they be accepted? I know well enough how to do things...just trying to avoid some trial and error...and ultimately possible rejection.

I was afraid that question would come one day.
Accepted in what way? To be added to the base? NO!!!

okay, i can now say, my connector suckz, i can not speed down the drives even with cd-bremse, so the drive tries to speed up every time and aborts some when.

seems your connector is any better though  smile

does it look like that?

okay, then i don't need its name

not sure if isobuster extracts them correct, did you ever verify any dumps on this way?

amarok, cdrwin is accepting your connector? What type of connector is that? Do you have the exact type name?

The answer is simple,

alcohol includes subchannels in your mdf, those are impossible to dump to have a match with the current available software, and they will always give you different results !

1,271

(5 replies, posted in General discussion)

agree with ghost, cartridge dumps and 1 track discs would be easy to merge, but multi-track stuff is a complicated topic

1,272

(24 replies, posted in General discussion)

okay, same pregap lengths here also.

when you can extract track4 pregap without errors in isobuster, then its fine and can be easily done.

so, its an US disc then?

1,273

(24 replies, posted in General discussion)

looks like you are trying to dump an USA disc(?)

track02: 2.00
