hey all,

most of you already know this, but for a handful that are still not aware it is possible to play gamecube movie files on the computer, and in case of Sofdec format even convert them to xvid or any other video format

for playback of .thp movies all you need is http://www.amnoid.de/gc/thpplay1.5.zip

quite a few games use this format- from resident evil remake to mario galaxy, fire emblem, etc...

sofdec format (.sfd) can be converted to mpg using sfd2mpg and lame, unfortunately this program only works for older (dreamcast era) .sfd files

the ones on gamecube can be converted with a combination of Tmpg Enc and sfd2mpg. for some uknown reason Tmpg Enc cannot recognize the audio properly but that's where sfd2mpg comes in, it will be able to generate a .wav file and give an error on the video.

note: some .gcm files come with .tgc files inside them, they can be extracted with gc-tool and converted to .gcm. this was the case with the resident evil 4 bonus disc, the .sfd files were inside .tgc

hopefully someone finds this useful... i always wanted to create an ultimate FMV collection from my favourite games.... maybe there are others out there too big_smile

cheers mate!

this is great. installed it this morning and made a backup of Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn

can someone point me to a program that's similar to GC-Tool (Paradox)

ideally i'd like to be able to look at the files on the wii disc and be able to extract them

thanks in advance

Yeah, i've done that with Burnout 2 smile

Have to say, Dolphin's progressing pretty well, nice to see Fire Emblem is fully playable minus the FMV audio
RE Zero is the same... The only thing with all RE games is that the save files are so sensitive, most larger 3rd party and official 1019 don't work well at all (save files keep getting corrupted) hmm

Rocknroms, since you are making or updating the GC dumping guide, don't forget to mention that the dumper should check the languages by changing the bios to the various languages.

This actually answers my question, Thanks
So, the only way to be sure is to actually go the long way and change the language in bios...
Was hoping i could use Gamecube Explorer and get the info by changing the banner language but i guess since no one mentioned anything, GCE mightn't be reliable...

okay, that's good to know

thanks

I doubt there's a list somewhere and I do hope i'm wrong...

To my understanding most scene releases come with .sfv (CRC-32) of the actual .rars not the games themselves, which is rather unfortunate.

Perhaps it's something all of us could put together?
All we would have to do is extract a scene release, calculate the MD5 and compare it to the redump.org list. If they match, should be safe to assume they're [!] dumps

I don't have that many scene releases but i'd be happy to help, anyone else interested?
tell us your thoughts about this

Hi everyone,

I have over 60 of my own PAL dumps that i'm planning on comparing with the ones on the website.

From what i've read all i need is HashCalc to get the md5s of my dumps.

That all makes sense.

What might be a problem is that few of the games i had dumped were borrowed from a video store, so i don't have access to them anymore which means i won't be able to provide the gc disc id number

Would you be willing to accept them without this info?
For example I have an English PAL version of Summoner A Goddess Reborn but don't own the disc anymore

P.S. So far i've check 12 games and the md5s match for all of them

Thank you!
