All random errors. If you want to reduce them, you need to get the mint condition disc.
I'm having trouble dumping these discs of The 7th Guest for Philips CD-i (DE, Disc 1).
2x 8130116V104 (data/bin file matches 73514)
1x 8130116V201
DICUI 1.18 and latest MPF throw this error in the log window but the process finishes with all required files:
[ERROR] Number of sector(s) where mode2 NoEdc subheader(0x10 - 0x17) isn't same: 1
Total errors: 1
IsoBuster on a different PC/different drive chokes on these discs too:
Error 03/11/05 on sector 308.325.
Logs: 8130116.7z
matches - http://redump.org/disc/73514/
Note that one of the above discs dumped without error here - http://redump.org/disc/73514/
New dic bug?
I had trouble with these discs for years, long before the above dump was added to the database. If you don't pay attention, you don't see the error because the log window disappears when the dump is finished. The data matches, by the way.
[ERROR] Number of sector(s) where mode2 NoEdc subheader(0x10 - 0x17) isn't same: 1
Total errors: 1
This is not a problem, afaik this check takes place after a successful dump and it just indicates that sector subheader copy is not the same. This is common for PSX discs.
sarami, I spent some time dumping one of the Russian unlicensed discs and DIC without any success. The disc is clean and it locks up on some sectors when dumping (slow) and there are some C2 errors.
I almost lost hope but decided to give it a try with IsoBuster and everything dumped fine, and what is more important - I have 100% match with the internet image of the same game. That's quite alarming to me as I have a pile of ~250 discs undumpable with DIC and I wonder whether all of them are bad or not.

Can you please look into it?

There are errors in DISK.001 according to _volDesc.txt
More samples are needed to make a judgment whether DISK.001 is really an intentional error file.
Hey sarami, i got a problem when trying to dump a PC game with SecuROM. The game is Shadow Man (Italian version, serial CD194141.05-ITA) and the SecuROM version is 2.75.00, i've tried to dump the game with your latest test version and i always get multiple dumps with non-matching checksums, and also the subintention.txt file is always empty.
This might be a problem related to SecuROM protection? I've dumped 4 times the same disc with IsoBuster and CloneCD and i always get the same checksum on the resulting image file, so i think that the disc is totally fine.
I've tested the dumps with my PX-716A and a PX-W4012TU.
Logs linked here, let me know if i can do something about it.

Shadow Man (Italian version, serial CD194141.05-ITA)
Europe and USA version is SecuROM 1st version (216 errors), but Italian is not so.

You're right, this SecuROM version is different than the USA, Eur-M3 and German releases.
I've dumped it now with your new version and it's matching the dumps i did with IsoBuster and CloneCD before.

Many thanks for your help!
dic outputs security sectors twice in the _disc.txt, is this a bug? it is troubling DICUI/MPF.

Thanks for looking sarami <3

Kreon drive supports xtreme and wxripper.
FF 08 01 11 xx , 'Set Lock State'
xx=00 - Drive locked (no unlock state)
xx=01 - Unlock State 1 (xtreme) enabled
xx=02 - Unlock state 2 (wxripper) enabled
Are both always the same?
Here's a new Xbox dump if that helps answer your question: https://drive.google.com/file/d/104umgO … sp=sharing
I would say the amount of sectors (incl. content) which are patched? Its been a long time since i dealed with it.

- deleted: xbox xtreme log (because xtreme dumps only XDVDFS in main channel)
I'm getting a duplicated (subs indexes) copy when dumping Fox Hunt soundtrack (Audio CD). Both copies tracks are the same but want to double check with you that everything is fine.

EDIT: cue timestamps are different though.
I'm getting a duplicated (subs indexes) copy
It's real subs indexes.

Which one should be considered correct for the redump submission?
samari,
my computers keep detecting a 'virus' with the later versions of dic, I know 20210102 for sure.
Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.D4!ml
I'm assuming it is a false positive of sorts, but I wanted to pass this along, as it could be concerning to some, plus I know some of my devices just outright delete it.
Edit: tested with latest test version - same issue.
It's misdetection. I submitted it to https://www.microsoft.com/wdsi/filesubmission
I did some investigation into SafeDisc on DVD and it looks like it works by storing 128-bit key at the start of DMI sector. DMI and PFI are saved into MDS format by default hence why MDS/MDF dump is accepted by SafeDisc.
I've examined MDS format further after finding this and, while most fields are unknown, it seems that all of them are same for all DVDs except for the number of sectors. DIC already dumps DMI and PFI so, theoretically, it could generate MDS file from a template to produce a working SafeDisc DVD dump.
I believe it's also worth attaching DMI and PFI to Redump entries for PC DVDs since DMI can contain literally anything, it's entirely possible that SafeDisc is not the only software that uses it in some way.
Unable to dump a disc containing Japanese CD-TEXT.
