This.

I'm going to try it with another drive first, I think this is a firmware problem with the 716.

I have confirmed that PX-716SA has a firmware bug, FatArnold also has a PX-716A.

Hegemonia dumps fine with 4824TA and 5224TA.

This needs to be noted.

Not sure if this is DIC or firmware.

/vn     Search specific bytes
For VideoNow
val     insert empty bytes in the head of the 1st track if value is set

What does that mean? It shouldn't insert bytes, it should be treated like a forced offset. /vn 18032 should be equal to /a -4508.

And 18032 should be the default value (if no value is set after "/vn").

1,959

I'll fix it like this

val Combined offset is shifted for negative direction if positive value is set
F1ReB4LL wrote:

No.
I created PVDTools(https://github.com/saramibreak/PVDTools) to decode VideoNow disc.
Please decode your VideoNow disc, using this tool.

Some reasons, VideoNow player may require 18032 zero bytes in the head of the 1st track, but it is obvious that "e1 e1 e1 01 e1 e1 e1 00" (black&white disc) is the head of the 1st track as the disc format.

Could you explain that? What offset should be used for the B&W discs, for the Color discs, for the Jr. discs, for the XP discs?

If /vn 18032 is set, wav file isn't decoded properly and the last frame of previous track appears to the 1st frame of current track.

F1ReB4LL wrote:

1. How about other app (DVDDecrypter, AnyDVD)?
2. Before execute CSS.exe, try to copy VTS_xx_x.VOB to any directory. If "Copy protection error" dialog shows, CSS exists.

Nexy wrote:

Do not use EccEdc.exe (move to other directory or rename app name).

How to find out the proper offset for each disc, then? Can DIC autodetect it? We have 4 dumpers waiting for a proper VideoNow dumping solution (and we still need to add your own dumps, so, 5 dumpers total).

the /r command is in the audio section in the source instead of the data section, can you fix that? I'm trying to do some backwards dumping of a Tages CD. Could you add that option to DVD as well?

Also the SafeDisc sectors are fully readable other than the byte 312 error, I need to do some test reads of them many times to see if they differ at all, but I think they don't and this is a false error. The EDC/ECC is always showing errors. Only question I have is does the drive make up any data after this byte or is it actually good as well.

Sarami, here is an unlicensed PS2 disc that does not work with /sf flag. I wonder if there are any clues for getting this one to dump? I have been buying many unlicensed PS2 discs lately, some of them behave very strangely, others dump fine with /sf.

All my posts and submission data are released into Public Domain / CC0.

SmartE sectors seem to have corrupt MSF only, there are no C2 errors when dumping the sectors. I will try also reading these discs backwards to see if there is twin sector protection when it's possible.

I've tested this on two Plextors (PX-708UF & PX-712UF) and a cheap external burner (Verbatim 98938), all of which yield the same error and same results. For good measure, I've also tried using administrator privileges on the command line, tried on another computer, tried closing all applications to free up as many 'resources' as possible, and tried using several older versions of DIC, but I ended up with the same thing over and over again.
Please advise?
