To: Admin
Using Quick search, I want to search a disc with protect (safedisc, securom etc). Is it difficult?
I will update it soon sarami and let you know if its done.
Okay, its done.
Add "/protection/only" to the quicksearch query to search for protection results only.
Example
http://redump.org/discs/quicksearch/saf … ction/only
I have limited the default quicksearch engine to look for: title + foreign title + serial
You can use further parameters for an advanced search:
/comments/only
/contents/only
I think they are self-explaining.

Does not seem to work like it should. I tried: http://redump.org/discs/quicksearch/sta … ction/only
Does not hsow this title: http://redump.org/disc/34728/

Very bad idea. Alt. titles & serials are in the "Comments" section, search results are incomplete in many cases.

Somebody was hot happy about it the other way, so i just reverted the search engine to the old format.
And now somebody else complains again
All kind of titles and serials should have their own fields for exactly that reason.
What do you suggest now F1ReB4LL ?

Let that "somebody" use your special keys/parameters and make the default search like it was a month ago. Default search should be as complete as possible and if someone doesn't like to see certain results there - make a personal workaround for him.
"I have limited the default quicksearch engine to look for: title + foreign title + serial" -- make a "/tfs/" parameter for him, in addition to those "/only/" ones.
Theoretically, there should be some kind of "advanced search" page with lots of checkboxes, so you could choose, where to search and where not to search.

+1.. default search should also search in comments and contents and maybe also protection
I guess, since there are "/comments/only", "/contents/only" and, possibly, other "onlies", there's no reason to limit the default search.
So that's why Melbourne Cup Challenge never returns a result when you search for it. I have seen that a few other games have the alternative title underneath the game name rather than in the comments however (as an example, type 007 into the search box to find a number of James Bond games with dual titles).
I will see that i code an advanced search function next days.
