"Philips Media Presents: CD-i Games: Highlights-Previews-Gameclips" not to be confused with a similarly titled one for movies.

I think, yes, because you will probably need to read additional sectors from the first pregap or from the leadout to the .scm file, so the .scm files will also differ.

Sarami needs a copy, not sure if he's accepting items directly.

Something else: It seems that unlicensed PS2 discs with intentional errors dumped with /sf no longer match the older dumps. Not sure what's going on here sarami since I know there's been a lot of back and forth about PS2 unlicensed discs / including some code regressions - but there's hundreds of discs in redump that won't match if redumped - many of which cannot be reacquired. IDR if anyone else has pointed this out yet, but if you have any such discs in your possession please run a test, I no longer do.

@sarami,

I'm trying to help a new user to dump 3do dev discs (MAC format), one particular disc is not recognized by the plextor drive.
He told me that other drives recognizes the disc just fine but in plextor it's like the disc drive is empty.

He successfully dumped others discs.

Did you got this behavior before?

Here's a CD-i with a weird error. DIC can't read the PVD and thus voldDesc.txt is empty.

LBA[000016, 0x00010]: [F:ReadVolumeDescriptor][L:538]
        Opcode: 0xa8
        ScsiStatus: 0x02 = CHECK_CONDITION

lpCmd: a8, 00, 00, 00, 00, 10, 00, 00, 00, 01, 00, 00

Dump matches http://redump.org/disc/74294/, including the 17111 M2F1 errors.
PVD can be read with a hex editor.

Looks like repeating sector bug and pregap bug are fixed. Same # of errors reported, same hashes.

These errors are all lead-in sectors of the 2nd session. DIC does not support generating ecc/edc yet when unreadable sectors are generated.

The problem is that EccEdc is checking the .img image and is reporting errors on the area that isn't included in the splitted .bin dump.
EccEdc should always scan only the .bin data tracks and nothing else.
We also get discs where it reports 225 errors but this is actually 3 seconds scrambled data inside the audio Track02.

And you get bogus "errors" like this inside audio tracks:
LBA[019483, 0x04c1b], audio
LBA[019484, 0x04c1c], MSF[00:00:00], zero sync
LBA[019485, 0x04c1d], audio

The control flag of subchannel of the 19484 is incorrect.

@sarami could you have a look at this plz: http://forum.redump.org/post/93954/#p93954

Can the shifted offset be explained by ASUS drive or a Linux bug?

Ah sorry, EccEdc only checks 4th from the last sector but should check 4th from the last data sector. I'll fix it.

I have no idea about it. Which sector is shifted?

The audio data is shifted 1 sample (4 bytes) between the 2 dumps.

Trying to dump a PC CD and it took like 3 hours to dump with Plextor+MPF and failed

https://www.mediafire.com/file/26pbe3na … H.zip/file

I dumped it with Plextor+CloneCD and it worked fine, and CloneCD verified to another drive fine. CDMage shows zero errors.

I'm not sure what is wrong with MPF here that it took so long and that it failed. Should I submit the Plextor+CloneCD dump, or should I only submit dumps that verified with Plextor+MPF?

---

Another disc dumped fine with Plextor+MPF, shows it uses SecuROM, and has 1 error. I tried dumping it with MPF on another drive but MPF went for 3 hours and I finally stopped it and used CloneCD. Is MPF supposed to work to verify on non-Plextor drives, or should I be using CloneCD for the non-Plextor verification?

Important to note that MPF is not DIC. DIC is what MPF uses but MPF has much more attached like BOS (Protection scanning)
Protection scanning can take a VERY long time sometimes in recent versions. If it goes over 30 minutes I'd recommend disabling it in the settings and scanning it manually with PID (Protection ID). https://protectionid.net/

Almost all the time was spent in the DIC terminal, not the MPF scanner.

homm2.zip is an old (20191223) version that has a bug for asus dumping.
You say below.

For now we are no longer accepting new dumps from non-Plextor drives for discs with audio tracks.

asus dumping that is already registered in the database should be done to all yellow status or deleted?

There are many c2 errors. Change the disc and/or drive.

It's ok for your private preservation but redump.org does not accept these.

using (in this case a Plextor PX-W4012TA)
with
"DiscImageCreator.exe cd D ISO\Psi2-Disc14-*\track.bin 72 /c2 20 /sf"

every dump is different.

have tried like 12 times now and no matches.

logs and dumps from the last 3 attempts here:

What is going wrong?
I have tried different speeds and different drives so far and no consistent matches.
