Something like that:

for data or mixed mode CD

DiscImageCreator cd p dic_PX-760A 8

for audio CD only

DiscImageCreator audio p dic_PX-760A 8
  • dic_PX-760A stands here for filename

  • 8 for read speed, you can increase it to 16 if you want. i would avoid 16+ read speeds

PS1 (more 30 pcs)
Sega Saturn (more 30 pcs)
Dreamcast (more 30 pcs)

Do you want an invitation, is that what you mean? smile

Hmm, i don't think those do belong to the original psx set, because of the console's origin.

Are those discs even factory pressings, or just burned copies?

That's why i started this topic http://forum.redump.org/topic/14267/ but since no one really cared i stopped my conception.

Loss of important metadata

defor, I don't even understand your whole points but this one if that means that there are no notes about actual regions being dumped. On the other hand, regions can be deduced from bar codes and or serial numbers in case of console games.

the hyphen is part of the catalog code- you can even look up in sony's online catalogs and the hyphens are present.

We are NOT re-cataloging sony's catalogs!
Our goal is to preserve game release pressings, which has nothing to do with foreign company catalogs. Prints and misprints.

Please do not cry like a small stubborn child crying for a candy.
I am not trying to offend you now, I just mean that we are not doing things without a good reason. Maybe you can look at things from another perspective and it will make you change your mind.

Very bad idea. Alt. titles & serials are in the "Comments" section, search results are incomplete in many cases.

Somebody was hot happy about it the other way, so i just reverted the search engine to the old format.
And now somebody else complains again big_smile

All kind of titles and serials should have their own fields for exactly that reason.
What do you suggest now F1ReB4LL ?

Okay, its done.

Add "/protection/only" to the quicksearch query to search for protection results only.

Example
http://redump.org/discs/quicksearch/saf … ction/only

I have limited the default quicksearch engine to look for: title + foreign title + serial

You can use further parameters for an advanced search:
/comments/only
/contents/only
I think they are self-explaining.

It is indeed a calculation bug if it comes to frame 74.

I will fix it if i still have the source file.
Do you think that tool has any usage still? All entries in the database have been updated ages ago.

Should actually not happen. Ist that a psx disc ? And dumping system information would help.

There must be some strange image size incompatibility, can you see whether the image size = 525672000 bytes?

Egen: there is no way one can rely on NULL values as well. While submitting, one can be: very tired, unfocused, drunk, on drugs, have bad eyesight, do a copy/paste error, using bad light source and/or light angle, etc etc etc. A good example are those black colored psx discs which you cannot read easily. Though, you are helping the staff very much by providing that information. Anyways, the submission accuracy is not given!

The status lights are only there to appeal on next dumpers to be more focused on reading the matrix down if the light is set to yellow color.

Egen wrote:

I think it's very odd that we don't mark some areas as NULL when there's no data there

Generally, yes, that would be more convenient to mention all matrix sectors, even if they are absent.

Egen wrote:

Why don't we add that information?

We cannot force people to do something they won't or can't do, you should know human's nature smile
Those, who are accurate in their doings, are submitting those details by default.

size field accepts size in bytes only, one single number

If there is only one field given a script will recognize it as "incomplete", this is just a visual thing, nothing to worry about.

By the way, i believe most PS2 DVD based titles should have either a mastering or mould sid code, if you can recheck that please.

Well, the only reason i was suggesting DIC to you is because i saw a real plextor in your own.
EAC + Isobuster can be difficult in usage in some cases, i would not recomend it over DIC if you can have it much easier this way. You don't have to learn offset calculation and moving byte samples. There are some time consuming things to do which you better skip. Just set up DIC quickly and enjoy dumping )))

DIC is still in development, although its way better than old dumping methods.

Egen: why are you bothering dumping it with EAC anyways? Isn't DIC working for you? It does everything automatically, use it.

Hi, I see you being serious about dumping, you can get the dumper status right away.
I would like to split your general questions about dumping and keep account request topic by side, it will be removed later.

As a note i can suggest you to use one of the tools (coded by sarami, DiscImageCreator) we also use here in combination with real plextors, which should "eliminate" your 2nd and 3rd questions. I have no time right now to explain it further, I think you will find it out and other members can help you too smile

All letters in "soulcalibur" are capitalized if you take a look closer at it,
however they use different letter sizes, which is just logo stylization IMHO.
