It says "Subtitles: English, French, German".

The fact is, that in the root menu, you can select between english, french, and german, but if you choose english, you've got only english audio, but NO subtitles.

Thus, correctly it should say:

Audio: English
Subtitles: French, German

I believe to have seen there an option to activate subtitles, maybe it will affect English subtitles(?)

If you could check it please, otherwise i will have to decompress my image again...

Nope, I checked. The subtitles are hard-coded into .vobs and even by playing back each vob separately, there are no english subtitles. In the VLC neither.

audio stream is coded into VOB files yes, but it is same like with other containers, you have always to activate subtitles or other stuff to get it shown.
