I noticed that your dump Ganbare! Nippon! Olympics 2000 (http://redump.org/disc/2276/) has an unusual serial entry. Where did you get VX161-J1 from?
I dumped the game yesterday and I think I can answer the question:
JPN Konami games have a double serial, a standard serial SLPM-..... and a specific serial VX...-J1 or something like that. In my submission I reported the second serial (VX....) in the Comments section.
Also, the 2 entries of Ganbare! Nippon! Olimpic 2000 should be merged (they differ for the "s" at the end of Olimpic[s])
Here are the database entries that should be merged, once a correct name will be chosen:
Merged, also the correct romanization is "Olympic" and not "Olympics".
Xenogears since you now have a Plextor can you look for write offset for data-only discs too?
I believe that Olimpic is the most correct choice (the direct katakana reading). I had a few doubts though, the title is also written in English as "Gambare Nippon Olympics".
Please notice the m in Gambare and the fact that the exclamations mark are gone. Probably a few mistranslations by Konami.
I'll try to recover the offsets of data tracks-only games as soon as I have more free time to understand how correctly read the D8 command output. I have big problems with MANY Saturn games ATM.
Well definitely there's no "s" in the Japanese katakana word, so we really can't act as if it was present.
Japanese titles miss the final "s" sometimes, if I remember right MD Contra Hard Corps katakana title miss an "s" too, in fact somebody romanizes it as "Hard Core"...

'VX161-J1' is Konami's serial. It can be got from a disc, cover or manual.
Konami's serial is assigned every game. (not every disc)
*-J1 : Original
*-J2 : PlayStation the Best, KONAMI the Best
*-J4 : PS one Books
