OK, I have tried two more drives. The first burner from first post was a Plextor PX-716SA.
The second burner is a TSST SH-224DB and the result was much worse:

The same miscompare messages repeated endlessly, verification was very slow, so I cancelled it.
The third burner is a LG GGW-H20L:

The result here is pretty much the same as the first one.
I also have to admit the first burned media indeed boot up on real hardware. The other two media I can't try because I have used CD-RW for testing purposes. The first media was a CD-R Taiyo Yuden 650MB. The test media is a CD-RW Verbatim 700MB (Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.).
Before several weeks I also tried this with Shining Force CD (USA) as noted in the initial post. I have burned it twice on CD-R, with ImgBurn and Alcohol 120%. But the media from Alcohol 120% was inaccurate. At least the first logo at boot up had no sound on real hardware. The media from ImgBurn had the boot up logo sound saying "Sonic Software Planning". The Alcohol 120% media had more miscompares in compare to ImgBurn.
