I have some problems burning content in Redump format with pregap of 01:74 at second track. ImgBurn seems to autocorrect this, the verification after burning also fails. In this example I am trying to burn Astal (USA) for Sega Saturn. But also had the same problem for Shining Force CD (USA).

Here is the log at and after verification:

...
W 22:51:16 Session 1, Track 1 is smaller on the disc than it is in the image file.
W 22:51:16 Disc's Track Sectors: 261676 (TOC Sectors: 261826)
W 22:51:16 Image File's Track Sectors: 261677 (TOC Sectors: 261826)
...
W 22:53:40 Miscompare at LBA: 261676, Offset: 2064
W 22:53:40 Device: 0x00
W 22:53:40 Image File: 0xE7
W 22:53:40 Total Errors in Sector: 52
W 22:53:40 Note: The drive probably corrected the EDC Area because it's wrong in the image file.
...

If I burn the same content with Alcohol 120% and verify burned media with ImgBurn afterwards, there are even more errors count. I also tried burning with the old CDRWIN v4.0H but after the burning process the disc was not recognizable at all by any of my PC drives. All drives had issues reading the disc with heavy access to the disc several minutes blocking the eject mechanism. I think CDRWIN actually burned the content 1:1 as described in the .cue file but was afterwards incompatible with PC cdrom drives?

W 22:53:40 Note: The drive probably corrected the EDC Area because it's wrong in the image file.

I think this warning suggests you should try another drive to burn.

OK, I have tried two more drives. The first burner from first post was a Plextor PX-716SA.

The second burner is a TSST SH-224DB and the result was much worse:

The same miscompare messages repeated endlessly, verification was very slow, so I cancelled it.

The third burner is a LG GGW-H20L:

...
W 23:38:01 Session 1, Track 1 is smaller on the disc than it is in the image file.

...

The result here is pretty much the same as the first one.

I also have to admit the first burned media indeed boot up on real hardware. The other two media I can't try because I have used CD-RW for testing purposes. The first media was a CD-R Taiyo Yuden 650MB. The test media is a CD-RW Verbatim 700MB (Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.).

Before several weeks I also tried this with Shining Force CD (USA) as noted in the initial post. I have burned it twice on CD-R, with ImgBurn and Alcohol 120%. But the media from Alcohol 120% was inaccurate. At least the first logo at boot up had no sound on real hardware. The media from ImgBurn had the boot up logo sound saying "Sonic Software Planning". The Alcohol 120% media had more miscompares in compare to ImgBurn.

I have redumped the burned media Astal (USA) with DIC and it was exactly the same as the source image. So I assume it also stays exactly the same on the disc after burning with ImgBurn.
