I confirm, the universal hash generated by DIC is not redumper compatible. It seems to me that the DIC is finding non-zero data in the wrong place
E.g. for one of my discs the redumper finds non-zero data at offset +864 while the DIC finds it somewhere at +1104 (http://redump.org/disc/84790/)
Logs for comparison

Sarami would you take a look at it?
https://mega.nz/file/kvwWGLCL#UHCuQnmdt … oYFpPQ_ez8

The disc is not in the best condition, but some errors seem to indicate an incorrectly burned disc (mastering errors?)
I'm talking about "Mode2 NoEdc subheader" errors here

Sarami is it possible for DIC to properly dump DVDs that have data in two layers? I am referring to this disc
http://redump.org/disc/8324/
One user investigated the topic with this game on DSC TCRF and it turned out that the disk with this game in the redump is incorrectly dumped (below the user's quote):
"After some assisted investigating, it appears that a properly-dumped copy of Offroad Fury 4 is so rare that the one in redump's database is actually an incorrectly-dumped one containing no data from the second layer.
Upon further investigation, it seems that all copies ever printed and sold on store shelves ever, used a very poor mastering method.
Basically, the game stores the "movies" folder on the second layer, but uses a strange custom programming to treat the second layer as a second filesystem that's designed to be not visible on computers.   Unmodified ISOs play videos despite you not being able to see them - the data is there, but you can't see it, only the PS2 can.
I couldn't view the videos for the longest time, causing a built in video skip feature to activate, because I was repacking the ISO to test debugging features.  Computers can't see the second layer so I was unintentionally stripping the video files off the ISO.  This is also why the internal build on HiddenPalace has the second layer seperate most likely, and why adding the videos back fixes the issue.
I'm adding this fact to my documentation along with more technical info about it for the eventual TCRF pages (coming soon in 2999)"
Would you research this topic? This is a beta version that seems to be properly dumped

I have a question for people who use the / c2 command in a slightly more advanced way. Does anyone have the /c2 command working properly when the second parameter is set to 1? According to the DIC wiki, the /c2 command can be set so that the DIC reads only a selected range of sectors and according to this wiki, I should set the second parameter of the /c2 command to 1 and in the values 3 and 4 specify the LBA range that I am not interested in, but when I do, DIC dumps the disk, and then hangs on the headquarters
"Rewrited img (LBA) 248676/299058"
And I don't know if I'm doing it right or wrong. This is how I set up this command
/c2 5000 1 248676 252396

I found another disk that always gives 1 error in the error counter at high read speed, the hashes are identical in both cases

https://mega.nz/file/BixRTAoa#YkgllWlNp … 4iNw1GhMv4
(Two logs just in case)
Anyone met with such a case?

Sarami, would you look at one of my disks?
https://mega.nz/file/Y7QgCDyI#gQT5cFlFN … 6I0SX5DnDc
https://mega.nz/file/ZjwnCC4T#MHDsRL0qF … St_TOOcq8k (two set logs)
I dumped it 3 times and there is always 1 error in the error counter, but the hashes are identical in both cases. The disk has no copy protection

I come back to the topic. It so happened that I have a drive with Cactus Data Shield protection. Has anyone managed to dump such a disk in DIC?

Thanks, it helped, and the dump process in both drives has started
The bad news is that both drives are throwing C2 errors when they dump. Maybe I'll polish them someday smile

I solved this problem
Two people on DSC recommended that I turn off the explorer.exe process. I checked it and in fact when I close this process, the dump is successful
I think Windows affects the quality of the dump sometimes

Hmm, I don't know. The disc with Kinderland Extra 4/2006 is almost clean, the disc with Tytus is also free from any serious dirt. And I dumped all these disks in Aaru in a different drive and there were no errors smile

It's the same with Max Game 5/2003. At the moment when the dump process is about to start, the DIC suddenly starts displaying strange errors (same as in Kinderland Extra 4/2006)

I am trying to dump two DVDs in DIC (one from Call of Duty: World at War and the other from 007: Quantum of solace), but each time these DVDs report read errors when I try to dump them. Both discs are clean and have no scratches or dirt, but both are SafeDisc protected. Is this a program bug or is it different?

I come back to the topic. I have a similar problem. My drive (Plextor PX-760A) is not reading some discs. The problem is strange though, because it can read some CDs but cannot read some CDs. Likewise with DVD. It can read some DVDs and not others. It sometimes reads some CDs, but the dump quality is very poor. Is it also a laser failure in my case? I bought it on the Allegro in used condition. I realize that the Plextor 700 series have poor lasers and I would prefer to buy an LG or Asus drive, but the problem is that I have a lot of multisession discs in my collection that can only be dumped in DIC on the Plextor 700 series, and the drives from this series on USB are even heavier to buy, I also have Audio CDs with game music in my collection and when I dumped them on the previous drive (Optiarc), my dumps were rejected because they were not made on Plextor. Can I repair the drive at home (for example, clean the laser or something)?

I think at this stage it will be more of a problem to find someone who has a very good knowledge of firmware for CD / DVD drives. Maybe RibShark would help us?

Missing dumps are for CDs/DVDs that have not been dumped into the redump.org database, while MIA are disks that are already in the redump.org database, but ROMs (or ISO images in the case of a PC) cannot be downloaded from the Internet

I did some research on this topic and in general a few projects can help me in dismantling the firmware:
ala42's program MCSE - http://ala42.cdfreaks.com/MCSE/
scanlime's project CoasterMeIt - https://github.com/scanlime/coastermelt
Repository for firmware's, patcher's etc for CD/DVD drives - http://forum.rpc1.org/
Devilsclaw's project Flasher - https://github.com/devilsclaw/flasher
The first program is only for removing the region lock, but maybe if you disassemble this program, its source code would help you understand how it works (after all, this program accesses the CD / DVD drive firmware directly), the second project is an attempt to reverse engineer the firmware for CD drives Samsung / DVD (the project is undeveloped, but its resources have been left, so maybe there would be some use for it? The third project is a page with various firmware, patchers, etc., etc. for CD / DVD drives, so disassembly at least these patchers may in this topic And the fourth project is also an attempt to dismantle the firmware for the CD / DVD drive, but this time for LG drives. This project (like the rest of the others) is not being developed either, but its resources and source code are still on GitHub so maybe it could also help in something?

While dumping the CD, I have the message "GetLastError: 121, The semaphore timeout period has expired", there are also messages like UNIT_ATTENTION - POWER ON, RESET, OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURED. Is this a problem on the drive firmware side or is it a driver side problem for the SATA controller? The drive is Optiarc AD-7530B

I asked him about it and he couldn't help it. Nevertheless, maybe this project would somehow help decode the names of functions in the software for the drive? - https://github.com/quarkslab/binbloom

I am returning to this topic because I am also interested in it. I myself have a drive without scrambled mode, but I couldn't find a way to modify the firmware

I can't dump any CDs! I have an "ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK" message. Can something be done about it or not? I have the TS-L632H drive. I have the latest TO03 firmware uploaded to it

If the drive doesn't read any discs, maybe the lasers don't work anymore? It was similar with my drive (Optiarc CRX880A). First, it did not read CDs (although after disconnecting it from the computer, waiting a while and plugging it back in, it read these CDs again), and then stopped reading CDs altogether. The lasers in this drive have died and unfortunately the drive to the trash can already be used

Another album that I cannot throw off is one from the Świat Przygód z Hugo newspaper 4/2008. The files on this CD are packed in some strange way and the CD itself reports errors, although the back of the CD looks pretty OK - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … sp=sharing

OK, so here are these sub files from CloneCD (I threw sub files from both Zozo Mix discs because I can't upload both of these discs to this page) - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … sp=sharing
