The disc 2 is perfectly dumped by perfectrip and both data and audio tracks are different than the dump submitted by p_star.
Data track of disc 1 is also different from the data track submitted by p_star and furthermore perfectrip result match the result of the traditional Isobuster method.
For the audio track of disc 1 I don't know, I'll try to dump it with the traditional method and verify if it match.

I'm still waiting for a tip on how I can generate the correct pregap of 2 second and manually attach it to the audio track extracted with EAC (there is a well known bug that prevents 2 tracks discs to be correctly dumped in EAC with the automated procedure)

The replaced sectors warning in the log is a sure sign of something wasn't right.

I really don't know. There are not corrupt C2 pointers but in the end perfectrip sends out a message similar to "sorry, the dump was not perfect"
On the other hand the data track is the same I got with the traditional method. Soon we'll see for the audio track.

I'm 100% sure that the factory write offset is zero. I tryed the D8, the Isobuster/CDRwin method with the 760A, I tried the Isobuster/CDRwin method with my "old" PX-800A (drive offset +48) and even with my laptop (drive offset +16).
It can't be other than 0 the factory write offset!
Version is 1.002, I saw it in the zero sector thanks to the sector viewer in CDRwin and Isobuster.
EXE version is nowhere to be found (maybe p_star or themabus can help here)

BTW, I dumped the data track of CD 1 with Isobuster to compare the result with perfectrip and they match!!
I got 2 times the error which has to be solved selecting "Replace with User Data All zeroes" for unreadable sector during the dumping process.

Of couse I removed the pregap of track 2 following the guide

I don't know, if the disc 2 is correct, then p_star dump is not correct.
Or maybe it's just another revision.

I finally got a Perfectrip/D8 command compatible driver!
I'm still waiting the Plextor PX-W4824A, but yesterday I finally bought a brand new PX-760A (after countless days of hunting!)
So soon I'll have 2 driver to compare my dumps!
So far I dumped the only one audio track game that I have and is already in the database (to compare the results).
The game is Sakura Taisen 2 for Sega Saturn, the result doesn't match and after dumping the first discs perfectrip gives a bunch of errors (is all ok with the 2nd disc though)

Here're the settings:

sub-channels: 100b
gap append mode: next
output format: PCM, current
C2 pointers checked: OK

Drive calibrate: -30 in read of the main channel offset correction, all the rest is left as is. (factory offset is zero, drive offset is +30)

Did you try with Perfectrip? Can you obtain the same results as Isobuster + EAC? Even with PC Engine, Mega CD, Saturn?

1) the model px-4824a has a buffer size of 4MB (is it useful for our purpose?)
    the model px-5224a has a buffer size of 2MB (is it useful for our purpose?)

2) the model px-4824a has a overburning capability of 94.55 minutes (useless)
    the model px-5224a has a overburning capability of 99.59 minutes (useless)

3) the model px-4824a has BURN-Proof Technology (Buffer Under Run Proof)
    the model px-5224a has Buffer Underrun Proof Technology (Buffer Under Run Proof)
    Is it the same?

Apart from these 3 differences (and of course read speed) the drives are absolutely identical in everything.
Seeing the buffer size and the fact that a trusted dumper confirms the compatibility with D8 command I'll choose the px-4824a.
Maybe a stupid question: is it compatible with 100b subchannel reading? (ie, is it fully "Perfectrip compatible"?)
I'll contact the seller in a few hours, please vigi, let me know if you find out something odd about these burners!

Hello everyone!
Perhaps I'll be able to contribute with another 100+ discs with audio tracks, I could acquire a burner compatible with Perfectrip!
I have the possibility to buy a new CD recorder but I need advice:

what model should I buy? I want to be sure that Perfectrip is supported with 100b subchannel reading (so it has to be original plextor, not rebranded) and possibly the D8 command must be supported (but this is secondary)

1)  Plextor PX-W4824TA (accuraterip drive offset is +98)

2)  Plextor PX-W5224TA (accuraterip drive offset is +30)

I know that PX-W5224TA is the next model in the line wtr of PX-W4824TA but I fear that it might be rebranded.
Furthermore there could be some hidden advantage of the PX-W4824TA (? I am really a newbie regarding CD recorders tech stuff)
Anyone can help? (vigi?)

Dear Vigi,
this program is driving me crazy!! If I set the subchannel reading mode to 100b (the one supposed to work only on Plextor drives) the dumping process stops in the middle and Perfectrip throws a bunch or errors. If I set to 001b the dumping process doesn't even start and my DVD drive turns off (!!!), then I have to turn off my computer and restart.
I made A LOT of experiments in these days and it happens constantly with every disc. I suppose my drive really sucks sad
I thinks I'll start dumping with Isobuster + EAC, I really want to contribute and I have so many discs still to dump!

On a related note, I tried to calculate the offset of 10 discs or so and in many case I could not determine the offset, I just need another drive with bigger reading capability?
Anyone knows where I can get a more "powerful" drive? I'd like to purchase another Plextor that can actually perform correctly the 100b subchannels reading mode (is the 760A ok?) and another drive with large reading offset. I searched online but I can't find a place where I can buy the Sony CRX-120e/ Sony CRX-100e. Any help with the Sony drive? I really need them in order to dump Sega CD games and even Saturn, PC Engine games.

I started to dump my first game with audio tracks with Perfectrip, I think I followed every step of the guide but when I try to dump the game (I click on the "image/rip" button) the following error appear: "11:11:11 is not a valid time" (the dumping process doesn't even start!)
What does this mean? The error is the same for both CDs and the game I'm trying to dump is Resident Evil 2 (Italian).


Here are some quick notes about Claire Disc (2 of 2):
I got 12,5 rows of data -> 12,5 X 16 bytes = 200 bytes
200/4 = 50 samples

My disc drive is a Plextor PX-800A, so the drive offset is +48 (taken from Accuraterip list) - 30 = +18

+50 = +18 + Disc Offset   ==> Disc Offset = 50-18 = +32 which is a common value.

Then I follow every step of the perfectrip guide, entering in the "main channel offset correction", "read" -50

Where is my mistake? The error is quite strange and the log file is completely empty!

Hello everyone!
I was wondering if someone of you know how far is the release of the mighty perfectrip. The website is down and the program has been in "release imminent" status for a long time now. I'd like to know if there is a way to have a copy of the beta program (only if I can get reliable dump with this preliminary version) along with a quick simplified guide on how to dump games with audio tracks with perfectrip. I have many PS1, Saturn games with audio tracks but the dumping process is very long, difficult and time consuming as of now.

Hi Macarro!
I am in your situation about the games with audio tracks! But you could start to dump your collection with the games with data track only! It's rather easy! Just identify disc type and follow a very little part of the dumping guide!
