I'm not familiar with Smarte protection.

I only found that cds are protected similary to safedisc cds (with intentional errors) http://forum.redump.org/topic/7625/adde … f-nations/ , http://forum.redump.org/topic/10020/ibm … ddvdcheck/ .

But I have DVD with this protection. I have dumped "Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends" using two different systems/drives/programs (isobuster, clonecd) and hashes are always the same. Is it safe to assume that this is correct or do I need dump it differently?

ps. I'm not even sure if it (Smarte) do anything, because I installed and played a game from a dumped image just fine without any problems.

It's fine. SmartE is kind of like FADE (ARMA 2 has this), you won't notice the protection check fails until later on the game will start act weird.
