So, me and iR0b0t really can't agree on this.. what is it? a letter or a number? is it OMM or 0MM in the picture?:

Personally I think it's a letter, because of how wide it is (if you see the zero on the left then it looks clearly different.. it's more narrow).. OMM probably means 'Optical Media Manufacturing' which is the name of a large replication plant. Then again, the 0 of A05 looks the same, so maybe the machine is using the same character for 0 and O.

This is not a contest and there won't be any winners, but we just want to record this accurately in the db.

its not that wide as M letter, a letter O has always a wideness like the widest letter = M, its a standard.

yes, because 0MM was used to have a different style, there was used a factory STAMP tool to stamp 0MM and A05 inside (which is in my opinion a machine number), the other ring code is burned.

here a direct compare 0MM | OMM

digit is 3 millimeters, letter is 4 millimeters

PX-760A (+30), PX-W4824TA (+98), GSA-H42L (+667), GDR-8164B (+102), SH-D162D (+6), SOHD-167T (+12)

in my eyes it's a 0 (zero).

DMEnduro supplied this scan, which is a 0 character and different from the other one, so I guess this proves that it's a number after all.

I agree with iR0b0t - not because I admire that guy and think he's a god - but I really see a zero there.

I thought if I scan the Ring barcode (CODE-39) I find out if there is a number or letter

I have scan the barcode from Jackals first CD picture

http://hl.onlinestuffs.com/uploads/originals/kg/ow/2d/4c.png

and unfortunately is 0/OMM not included.

but maybe there is a barcode where it is contained.
