Sometimes Isobuster doesnt refresh the information of a disc roperly and keeps the info of the previous disc inserted. Which means that dumping Disc 1, then Disc 2 will have the same number of sectors as Disc 1.

http://redump.org/disc/9699/
http://redump.org/disc/9700/

These 2 have exactly the same size, exaclty the same sectors. I suspect is maybe because of Isobuster not correctly refreshing the disc info. It happened to me before and thankfully i saw it early. From now on when I insert a new disc I allways select the virtual drive then select my physical drive again to refresh correctly. I know its better to use different software, I allways use CloneCD and Alcohol in addition to Isobuster, but sometimes by mistake this can be overlooked.

I know these have safedisc and isobuster dumps are not correct, but they even have exaclty the same number of errors too. I want to ask Jutah if he can redump them both for verification, DDump and CloneCD.

Thanks.

I agree with you on this. That isobuster bug is true, happened to me before too and I'm also a big damn fan of GTA 3 and I know perfectly that Disc 1 is only around 280 MB, which is the game data and the second Disc is radio audio only, which is 700 MB.

I wouldn't call that a bug. I think they meant to make ISOBuster do that. I just click the refresh button when I put in a new disc, often time several time to make sure I'm working with the disc in the drive and not the cached info from the previous disc.

I'll take the word of it. Dont have the time to start digging right now. No mean to be hurt Jutah's trust or something, I just had to ask this to be sure, you know?  wink

You are right about the image sizes but the protection should be only in Disc 2... maybe the Russian edition is different and the first disc was padded like some SafeDisc games (GP3, Spirit of Speed http://redump.org/disc/9617/ - the files in this one take about 200Mb and the disc is full).
And it's ok to set GTA3 to Russia even if there are no Russian language present? Maybe this is the Euro release...

Hi
It's clearly russian release, both covers are on russian.
And both discs has safedisc protection.
Maybe it's same size because of protection? I don't know.

I think the covers aren't the best place to check for a game region... especially in PC games.
I have a lot of older and new pc games (in dvd style box and in older cardboard box) and some of them have the box written in portuguese, but they are Euro releases, the covers and boxes mean nothing, usually it's the national distributors who makes them...
But that's not a big deal, let's wait for a verification dump  smile

Английская версия = English version  wink but we can wait for a verification anyway

Game released by BUKA  It's russian distributor
What else can i do with this discs?
Maybe dump them with clonecd? Then what settings i need to use?

UPD: Uh sorry, buka released some games worldwide, but only this games if i understand correctly:
http://www.buka.com/int_sales.Our_games … e__up.aspx
and this:
http://www.buka.com/int_sales.Our_games … logue.aspx

the only confusing thing is that both dumps have the same size.

but when NiKoTiN owns both images why should them be incorrect? or did you make a patch for him?

I make patch.

When i said " verification dump" i was refering to another dumper to see if the Euro version matches yours  big_smile
But if you want, you can dump it with CloneCD but you have to make a profile with the settings that Nexy posted in this topic: http://forum.redump.org/topic/2201/dump … edisc-cds/  i tested some SafeDisc games with this profile and it matched the image DDump created...

I understand, just want to help )
Ok i must try.

Disc 2 matched on different drive with clonecd instead of ddump.
Now i try disc 1

Disc 1 also matched perfectly

Hi All!!! I got these two images from the local area network! wink
The second disc matched the dump immediately! But the first disc doesn't match Jutah's dump and I request to him for a patch!  big_smile
I got the patch... But the difference in the patch is a few bytes... somewhere in some SafeDisc sectors
Make conclusions...

EDIT:
No! No! No! Sorry  big_smile
Difference isn't in SafeDisc sectors  tongue
Difference is in one bytes of the file in the Audio folder (RISE.WAV, I think)
I have downloaded two different version of images, but I got confused and asked for a patch  roll
May be another image matched dump of the first disc, I haven't tested it

P.S.
Sorry, I was able to confuse the second and the first image  tongue

OK thanks Jutah
