This is going to be a new fixing thread for posting PS2 QuickPar FIXES.

A QuickPar FIXE can pratically fix anything from almost anything.

It can fix;

A WRONG VOLUME LABEL easily.
A RIPPED DUMMY FILE CAN BE FIXED NO MATTER WHAT SIZE*
A SHRUNK ISO (HDLOADER)
A PATCHED ISO
A REBUILT ISO
A OVERDUMP & UNDERDUMP.

For example. Jo Blogg's has a PS2 iso that doesn't match the redump.org db.

Well if I have the good iso and make some blocks of quickpar, it will fix his bad iso.

QuickPar is widely used amongst the USENET community.

When a download fails to download all 100%, instead of it being useless and have to be re-downloaded, it is fixed instead to give the full 100% proper file.

Obviously just like any good product you will find more than just 1 use for said product.

So keep your eye on this post to see what will be here very soon.

Some better instructions on usage and further more some Links to download the PS2 QuickPar FIXES.

You are all invited to join this little project if you wan't at some time in the future, the more the merrier.

Thanks,
tossEAC.

He who controls the SPICE... controls the UNIVERSE!
The SPICE must flow.

The problem with PAR2 and PS2 images is that the correction files will usually be very big (somewhat between 200 and 400 MB), also sometimes a 10% correction file won't be enough.
Maybe for CD dumps it'll be more effective.

If your image is only slightly out the PAR2 files will be small, where talking about corrected not generated to much in the way of missing data just making small alterations to the code to get it exact.

The SPICE must flow.

Then I'm missing something here, how will the person creating the PAR2 files know how much off the bad dump is from the good dump?
Or are you thinking of only doing small % PAR2 files?

Use IceECC smile

Sotho Tal Ker what's the difference between IceECC and PAR2 aside from speed?

Well, one point is speed. smile
Other good points:
- folder+subfolder support
- very versatile options for creating ecc files smile

There are no real advantages that let IceECC blow away par2/quickpar but overall i like it more.

In general:
The biggest problem by using any of the mentioned programs is that someone has to host the par2/ecc files. Usually on usenet that is not a big problem, but here could be a problem. smile
