FYI there is a third track in the High Density area.

Interesting - It looks like the HD area log file redump.cue does contain the third track:

FILE "Track 01.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Track 02.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:02:00

FILE "Track 03.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 03 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

But the MPF/DICUI log file SONIC_ADV.cue does not contain the third track:

FILE "SONIC_ADV (Track 1).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "SONIC_ADV (Track 2).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:02:00

Am I doing something wrong in MPF? Or is this just a limitation of the tooling?

Read the GD-ROM dumping guide. It explains it.

Good idea, and thanks for helping me :-)

I went back and carefully re-read the GD-ROM Dumping Guide.

I must be missing something - AFAICT, I followed the guide exactly.

The .zip file I attached above contains logs for both the HD and LD areas, and the HD CUE file does indeed show a third track:

HD_Area/redump.cue:

FILE "Track 01.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Track 02.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:02:00

FILE "Track 03.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 03 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

However, I didn't paste that in the original forum post message body - I only pasted the contents of LD_Area/!submissionInfo.txt, which obviously doesn't include the third track.

Should I be including the HD area's CUE in forum post message bodies in the future?

Here's the directory listing of the .zip file I attached:

HD_Area/:
    SonicAdventure_v1.005.txt
    dcd.log
    ip.txt
    redump.cue
    redump.toc

LD_Area/:
    !submissionInfo.txt
    SONIC_ADV.cue
    SONIC_ADV_logs.zip

Am I missing any files?

Anything else I'm missing?

Thanks again for helping me :-)

There are several issues with this verification.

1) Most importantly, you don't include the checksums for track03 in the logs. DICUI only provides checksums for the LD area, you need to get yourself the checksums for any HD area tracks (track03 and above).
2) You dump is surely faulty. ice.exe output shows 03  Mode1   45000  549149  504150 ok (2). This shows that there are 2 problems with this track. It should be showing ok without any number in parentheses. Exception: last data track in a disc with more than 3 tracks should be showing exactly (75). I bet once you get the checksums for track03 you will discover that they are not the same as the already verfiied checksums. Most likely for this specific one, section 5 that matched last is the guilty one. Before redumping everything, you could just delete that section of the dump and try again.
3) ...which leads us to point 3, don't post a verification if you have not matched size, crc32, md5 and sha1 for ALL tracks.
4) Beware of mastering codes, from the other codes that were submitted in the past, I see the "Z9B24P" probably is separated by more than 1 space from %51000. If this is true, you should be noting that. An easy way to do that would be to enter %51000-A<TAB>Z9B24P. Until you get the hang of it, a good way to check would be to keep in mind that if more than 1 letter fits in the space, it should be entered as <TAB>. If in doubt, you can include a scan/photo of the bottom of the disc, which would help the moderator adding it to determine himself if it's a TAB or SPACE.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation - it helps a lot and I really appreciate you taking the time to write it!

1) I didn't realize that I needed to manually generate checksums for the HD area - sorry about that! Are there any instructions for doing so? I didn't find anything in the GD-ROM Dumping Guide, wiki, or forums, but I may very well be missing something.

2) I also didn't realize that ok (2) indicated problems with the track. Is the source code for any of the VGCP GD-ROM Dumping Kit available? Maybe I could add a more explicit error message so noobs like me don't repeat my mistake.

3) D'oh! So sorry about that.

4) Good advice! I would be more than happy to provide photos of both sides of the disc. I'll do my best to capture every piece of text on both sides.
