Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

For PSX with audio tracks, you'll probably want to post:
Psxt001z log
EAC Logs

It would probably be good to check Track 1 with CDMage as well.

Optional information:
Barcode

I'm not too sure what you want for the psxt001z log, but this is what I have:

C:\Users\Andrew\My Documents\Playstation\Verify\V-Rally>psxt001z.exe --fix "V-Rally.bin"
psxt001z by Dremora, v0.21 beta 1

File: V-Rally.bin
Size (bytes): 133059696
From image: 362229168
Size (sectors): 56573
From image: 154009
Mode: 2
EDC in Form 2 sectors: NO
System area: Eu NoEDC
Postgap type: Form 1, zero subheader, zero data
Done.

Edit:
Unfortunately I only have the disc, so I can't give the barcode (got the game over 10 years ago).

As for CDmage, I downloaded it but don't know what to do with it  tongue

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

You have Version 1.1 of the game, as the Track 1 hashes match.

Track 11 appears to have not had the gap appended properly by EAC though. I wonder why (maybe upgrade to prebeta 5?).

What's weird is that the filesize you posted is correct (32,107,152 / 2352 = 13651 sectors), but the number of sectors you gave differs (13501 * 2352 = 31,754,352) .

If you pad the Track 11 bin with 352,800 bytes of 00 (31,754,352 + 352,800 = 32,107,152) the CRC should match. I mentioned how to do this with a hex editor in this thread (scroll down to "Padding files is even easier.")

--------------------------------

CDMage won't be necessary now, but it's a good idea to scan images for new dumps. To use it in general, you open the image and choose Mode2/2352 (for PSX games). Go to Action>Scan for corruption. If there are errors and there is no status screen visible, do View>Error log.

CDMage should only be used to check an image for errors. Sometimes disc drives can create minor errors while dumping the track, so if you spot them you'll want to redump the track until there are none. Some games have errors present, but this should be tested by dumping in different drives. This is the reason why it's highly recommended to dump games multiple times.

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

I re-did Track 1, in a different drive, with the same results. Same size, same CRC32, etc.

As for Track 11, when I tried EAC with the second drive, it gave some odd pre-gaps. Instead I ripped it with the first drive again:

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

You should get a dump from that second drive.

Remember to re-calculate the combined offset for the second drive. Rip Track 11 with "Leave out gaps" and pad the resulting bin with XVI32.

The file should be these sizes

Straight from EAC "Leave out gaps":  31,754,352 Bytes
After XVI32 padding: 32,107,152 Bytes

Worst-case scenario we could try dumping the track manually with ISOBuster and adjusting for the positive offset, but this isn't guaranteed to work.

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

That looks better. I'd set up my first drive in EAC as per the guide but hadn't touched the second. Also hadn't figured out the offset.

Track 11 (On my second drive)
Length: 0:03:02:01
Sectors: 13501
Size: 32,107,152 bytes
CRC32: 1cef5bd2
MD5: 272889cd7c59a5aaa9f794f1ff6fd162
SHA1: 7585a9fd36497ad0d7a1c037c624d0705b3ea343

After configuring the drive properly all I had to do was append gaps to next track/test &copy.

What's weird is that the filesize you posted is correct (32,107,152 / 2352 = 13651 sectors), but the number of sectors you gave differs (13501 * 2352 = 31,754,352) .

Hmm, It looks as though IsoBuster (where I get the sectors from) shows Track 11 as having 13501 sectors (at 3:00:01). Whereas EAC shows the length at 3:02:01, which should give me 150 more sectors (13651) which would (almost) marry up perfectly with http://redump.org/disc/784/.

The only difference now is the Ring and the EXE Date. On a second more thorough look all of the files in Track 1 are dated 1997-06-18, except for SLES_002.50 which has a date of 1997-07-15, the same as the above disc.

That just about covers everything?

Edit3:
Just checking on the number of sectors in Track 1 (the only other discrepancy I think). Again, I got the number of sectors from IsoBuster (56723) but it also gives a length of 0:12:36.23. EAC has the length at 0:12:34.23, 2 seconds less, therefore 150 sectors less (56573). That's probably my mistake for getting the number of sectors before fixing the pre-gap thing. Makes sense actually...Oh well.

So...

Track 1
Length: 0:12:34.23
Sectors: 56573
Other stuff: the same

Thanks for the help  big_smile

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

did you resize and fix track 1?

all games dumped with drive: HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GH30N

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

The only issue with Track 1 was that I was using the number of sectors IsoBuster gave me, which is before fixing the pregap. Once the pregap was fixed, Track 1 is resized, so all I had to do was change the number of sectors.

I'll go ahead and edit my first post to reflect the changes.

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

Be careful in calculating the write offset.

Combined offset: +104 (Drive + Factory)
Accuraterip (Drive) offset: +102 (Constant)
Factory write offset: +2 (104 - 102 or Combined - Drive)

Everything is perfect otherwise smile

Sector size is track size / 2352. ISOBuster doesn't account for pregaps, so it won't know the correct sector size for each track.

Really, though, you should be good if the combined filesize of all tracks matches the expected image size from psxt001z.

Yeah, I was just typing in words.
Accuraterip should be +102, the offset value is +104, so the factory write offset is +2.

It's the combined offset/offset value that I want to put into EAC isn't it?

Re: [ADDED] [PSX][Verify] V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition

Yep. I just wanted to clarify that, but it looks like you've got it down  smile
