Looks like the standard release of SCES-52431 has no arabic on the back https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142526879098

Here's a sealed copy that matches the barcode in the UK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391977999061

wait, are you saying that someone switched this disc & case? perhaps whoever bought that UK version will find SCES-52431 in there too wink

I think it's highly possible, but I bought sealed Arabic/English platinum so tossEAC will be receiving it in a week or so.

the manual that come with the game was english/arabic too.

will see the result of tosseacs dump... smile

So this disc has no Sony DADC   A0900555555-B511   436 IFPI L556 on other side, just mould code IFPI 6536? Also PVD is off from DB. Are you copying PVD from isobuster with raw box checked?

I can't see any Sony DADC on label side - just the mould code.
As this isn't a platinum disc, it's not clear

PVD was from DIC _maininfo.txt

isobuster PVD is:

Ok this got even stranger...

tossEAC just got a sealed copy of This is Football 2005. the cover has SCES-52936/P on it, but the actual disc was SCES-52426/P.

http://forum.redump.org/topic/17625/ps2 … -verified/

I'm willing to bet number78's disc was swapped out and isn't the original for that case, otherwise it should match tossEACs disc serial.

Bump, no longer [WAITING]. Please add this as a verify of http://redump.org/disc/46846/

Based on the evidence here, number78's disc must have been swapped with the case at some point - or at least it's too inconclusive to put the "SCES-52936/P" case serial number into the SCES-52431 entry.

So, does this have English + Arabic languages or not? Otherwise why is PSX Data Center listing those languages. I guess it's still possible that an original SCES-52936 case+disc release exists somewhere?

Case i have is printed english/arabic - but disc, with different serial number, is english only

Ok.. PS2 covers can be a mess.. For instance, Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance was released in the Netherlands with an Australian cover, so it's plausible that the same cover was used here for Australia and some Arabic country and that only the Arabic country got the SCES-52936 disc.

Based on tossEAC's dump it matches the case is the arabic one that should match here: http://redump.org/disc/19661/ which is NOT the same as number78's

Case yes, disc no. Please read here: http://forum.redump.org/topic/17625/ps2 … -verified/

Based on the evidence of tossEAC's SEALED disc, it is likely that number78's got swapped at some point disc/case.

The disc is a regular Australian one (IFPI 65xx instead of 94xx), I would be highly surprised if it only supported English and Arabic of all languages. Jackal is right about PS2 covers being a mess, genuine Australian releases can either have their own covers and ratings or simply reuse unaltered European covers (with the ELSPA/PEGI/BBFC/USK ratings intact), usually the latter group have an Australian rating sticker on the cover hiding the original rating. Cover swaps are all too common as well, especially when stores hide the discs and manuals behind the counter and only leave the empty case on the shelf, things are guaranteed to get mixed up.

ack2121: The Sony DADC A0900555555-B511 label side ringcode is on all wannabe-dual-layer* PAL PS2 DVD5s with the exception of very few, it's just that most of them cannot be seen under the label (which is why documentation of the label side rings is mainly limited to Platinum releases). I have come across exactly one game out of 800+ which has had a non-DADC label side ringcode, it was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, which came with a Sony Music Entertainment Australia "DVD5 BLANK" ringcode (which itself resembles an NTSC ringcode). Other PAL titles such as High School Musical 3 and the PBPX demos would most likely have an NTSC style label side ringcode but it cannot be seen.

*Most regular DVD5s (and all CDs) only have one visible layer however, so looking through the label side will simply show a reverse image of the label side ringcode on those discs. I guess it's just up to what equipment manufactured the disc at the time, as even otherwise identical discs may or may not have the blank layer. There's a chance that UMDs may also have the same thing (not sure about Blu-Ray).

Based on the evidence of tossEAC's SEALED disc, it is likely that number78's got swapped at some point disc/case.

I have had discs in the wrong cases, game shops in the UK, put the proper boxes on shelves and put the discs in sleeves behind the counter, or at least they all used to, I have picked up a regular box, and got home to find a platinum in the box, or vice versa. Many times. So any game that isn't factory sealed could potentially be in the wrong box. Especially if bought in the UK.
