Topic: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

Just wondering why some say SuperLite 2000 Series and others say SuperLite 2000, including the 2 discs I have recently submitted.

I have looked at the boxes and none actually say Series (not in English at least) and the general SuperLite 2000 text is the same on all the games I have (4) all together.

+1 smile SuperLite 2000

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

I don't understand the "Major Wave Series" in the Edition, logo simply says "Major Wave".

The only exception that would sound stupid without the "series" added is "1980" - http://psxdatacenter.com/images/covers/ … -F-ALL.jpg -- or is it something like "gyuutto tsumatte 1980"?

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

I noticed this yesterday, it's fixed now. I made SuperLite 2000 the edition for two of the dumps since the ringcode is different.

I couldn't find the vol # for this dump: http://redump.org/disc/34529/

Maybe Table Games is a special subseries? SLPM-62305 Othello is there, SLPM-62306 Shougi, SLPM-62317 Igo, SLPM-62539 Chess, maybe more.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

I don't think there are different vol series, and Table Game seems to be a genre. According to rakuten listings, Mahjong is vol.1. I can't find a spine scan to confirm this though.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

The vol # shouldn't be omitted IMO, but adding both genre+vol looks messy. The PS1 SuperLite games also have a genre on the cover, so we could just add it as a comment.

Agree, since even "Tactical Espionage Action" is omitted from MGS title.

I would also move "Series" from certain titles into the comments, like, http://redump.org/disc/37152/ (not SuperLite 2000-related, but a general naming-related issue).

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

Adding blabla series is similar to adding the author's name, so we should probably keep those. Though there are many inconsistent author titles in the db, some have it as alternative or omit it completely.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

http://segaretro.org/images/6/64/Sangok … ont_PP.jpg -- リコエイションゲーム (ReKOEIation Game) is a genre, then it goes 三國志英傑伝シリー (Sangokushi Eiketsuden Series). Following your logic, it should be "Sangokushi Eiketsuden Series - Sangokushi Eiketsuden (Japan)".

http://www.satakore.com/sega-saturn-gam … k-JPN.html -- and this one is "Sangokushi Eiketsuden Series - Sangokushi Koumeiden (Japan)" according to the external big box, but "Eiketsuden Series - Sangokushi Koumeiden (Japan)" according to the jewel front -- http://segaretro.org/File:SangokushiKou … _Front.jpg

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

Sometimes the series is included on the title screen, that's why I think keeping them would be best.
For your example, I think the most complete series title should be used.

"Sangokushi Eiketsuden Series - Sangokushi Eiketsuden" should be used? smile It's stupid. It's the same thing as the genre and, again, even Tactical Espionage Action is omitted (which is everywhere on the covers and ingame) and in this case it's only the front cover.

I think there's a huge difference between the publisher series (groups different games/releases into the same release series with the same package appearance) and the game/title series (my example falls there, J. B. Harold Series falls there, http://redump.org/disc/33518/ - this one falls there, etc.) which should be treated the same way as genre and moved into the comments.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

So you only want the SuperLite/etc. series or also keep the ones with it on the title screen? I don't see how the game/title series is different from an author, and those aren't always on the screen either.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

SuperLite 2000 Vol.

I am not sure, but all the covers clearly print it as...

SuperLite 2000 vol.

no capital V in Vol.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

Redump uses No-Intro's naming, so only articles, prepositions, and coordinating conjunctions are lowercased. The rest gets capitalized.

I want the strict rules for such cases. "The ones with it on the title screen" rule doesn't work.

Re: [PS2] SuperLite 2000 Series

Why not just always keep the series? The series covers are not always unique/matching (Example1, Example2, Example3).

Sometimes they are just one game, and they would lose a lot of meaning without the series (Example1, Example2).
