Just saying: The wikipedia list is horribly wrong when it comes to Europe and lists a few dozen games that weren't actually released over here (like Barbarian).

Re: "Negative" Pregap? (7 replies, posted in General discussion)
How do you know garbage is only for 159844-159846? I mean.. 159847 sector seems to have garbage data to me.
What I meant was that IsoBuster reports those sectors as not being read correctly by the drive (can't remember the exact wording, I guess you know that message, the one were you can choose between retry, ignore and cancel) but it does not complain about 159847. Of course this doesn't mean the data isn't useless either way
Maybe finding the write offset of the disc could really help in your situation. Plz ask Fireball on how to find the write offset using a "trap disc" or talk to iR0b0t in the channel to take a look at the sectors and do his magic
I'm pretty sure we already discussed those other methods in another topic and my drive (LG4167B) is not well suited for them. iR0b0t may sure take a look at the sectors (i can post their content tomorrow) but unfortunately I only have the disc for one more day before it ends up in storage again.
Also plz post the cue file of the CCD here to determine the track 02 pregap
please upload ccd for me as I don't have a full version
We also need the read offset of the drive that is showing these sectors (that is why I told u we need more info on the drive + game cd)
Where did you tell me to give you more details about the drive? Well, the read offset is +667 and I had no similar problems with this drive before (see my other dumps)

Re: "Negative" Pregap? (7 replies, posted in General discussion)
First of all, there is NO negative pregap .
Guess why I put it in ""
1) Track 02 has data inside the pregap (!! unusual but not impossible)
yep, this might be the case, although 3) is more likely
2) These three sectors are filled with garbage (produced by your physical drive)
ISOBuster reported garbage for 159844-159846 but not for 159847
3) IF track 02 pregap is indeed 0 sec, the data track might overlap into the audio track
I think this is most likely, how would I dump it?
***Note that you must check with other tools (like CloneCD cuesheet file) to determine what the pregap is, because EAC will always show 0 sec for cds that have 1 data + 1 audio track.
It does have multiple audio tracks but if you'd upload me CloneCD I'd give it a try
Please write more information about the game (what console, how many tracks, region, etc..)
Sorry, it's a PC game. German re-release by SoftPrice, not sure about the number of tracks but more than 2

Topic: "Negative" Pregap? (7 replies, posted in General discussion)
I'm trying to dump Interstate 76 and EAC detects a track 2 pregap of 0s. Looking at the sector view in ISOBuster, Sector 2 starts with block 159844. Now, this block is filled with data. I tried going back 1s, 2s but couldn't find the end of track 1. So I went up block by block and indeed reached the end of data in block 159847. It looks like this:

How can I correctly dump this game?

additionally, to be certain, you could try to descramble this garbage data
and would it match to last few data track sectors, it's pretty sure to be just usual offset manifestation then
(though from fragment you provided in 1st post it's already apperant it comes from empty Mode1 sector with LBA:128015
which is expected last data track sector)
No idea how to do this
If I understand you right though I just shouldn't worry too much about the message and try to go with +1356

hydr0x wrote:Which method? And if you mean my method (which is 1:1 what the guide says), what's the alternative?
D8 (Plextors only) or swapping with AudioCD (not supported by all the drives).
I see. My LG 4167B is supposed to support D8, at least some versions but I had no success with it. I don't think swapping is possible either.
So, this leaves me with which solution? Just assuming that the offset is indeed +1356?

Re: Problem finding out combined read+write offset (12 replies, posted in General discussion)
i mean your offset is 2 full sectors + offset from 3rd
Yeah, that's a possibility, although I'd still wonder why IsoBuster gives me that error message.

@rocknroms
I don't have CloneCD
@themabus
Sorry, I don't get what you're saying there.
This method is unreliable for finding the offset for PC games, btw. There's a number of games with 0 disc offset, but some garbage in the 2nd track pregap, so the offset will be found wrong in this case (Jackal has dumped some of such games).
Which method? And if you mean my method (which is 1:1 what the guide says), what's the alternative?

Topic: Problem finding out combined read+write offset (12 replies, posted in General discussion)
I'm having problems with one particular PC game: Battlezone
Please note I have dumped a couple of discs with audio before so it's not the process itself I'm having problems with:
My problem is this: When I open track 2 in ISOBuster Sector View it goes to sector 128166. The determined pregap with EAC was 2s. Which means I should go to sector 128017 and then one back to 128016, right?
Well, when I try to switch to sector 128017 this error pops up.
---------------------------
The data may be unreliable !
---------------------------
It seems the CD-ROM drive is returning unexpected data.
Please verify the data after extraction.
If I select ignore I get a sector full of scrambled data. It's the same with sector 128016. Sector 128018 does not produce the error and is filled like this:

Any idea what's up here and how I should handle this? Did EAC miscalulate the pregap? Track 02 shows a gap of 2s, all following tracks a gap of 1.98s.
Any help is appreciated
