I'm selling my Plextor PX-708A Drive $10 plus shipping.

I also have an LG GSA-H55L light scribe drive as well.

If anyone's interested send me a personal message.

I've recently went about updating my Redump sets. This process took me longer than I would have liked. Because I had a lot of time on my hands while I waited for all my files to be renamed I thought of an idea, why not change the name of the rom inside the archive to either a database number, serial number, or barcode and use the name of the archive as the real name. If any renaming had to take place it would only effect the archive name and not the file inside. If the only thing that needed to be renamed was the name of the archive it would take mins instead of hours to rename the entire Redump set.

So currently my NDS ROMs look like this

Corpse Killer (USA) (32X).7z
- Corpse Killer (USA) (32X) (Track 1).bin
- Corpse Killer (USA) (32X) (Track 2).bin
- Corpse Killer (USA) (32X).cue

If they were renamed to their serial number it would look like

Corpse Killer (USA) (32X).7z
- T-16201F (Track 1).bin
- T-16201F (Track 2).bin
- T-16201F.cue

The only downside to this is if the files are extracted it would be confusing which game you are trying to play based on an alpha / numeric value. The only work around I could think of for this is to either find or create a program that upon extraction relabels the file to the name of the archive.

What are your thoughts?

I'm trying to dump Castlevania: Rondo of Blood a.k.a. Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo for the PC engine but I'm a bit confused on a couple of things. First of all, the disc structure is unique in that the 1st track is Audio, 2nd Track is Data, Tracks 3 - 21 are audio, & Track 22 is Data again. So I don't know if I need to handle this a special way since this isn't the "norm". Secondly I get an error if I try to use the px_d8.exe program to determine the combinded offset. Since that program doesn't work how can I determine the combinded offset?

I just tried dumping this game with two different drives and it is returning different hash values for both tracks which are probably a result of the scratches on the back of the disk. So I guess at this point it's undumpable. If I come across this game again I'll be sure to pick it up and try and dump it again.

DJoneK:
I checked a couple of shops around me and none of them seem to repair damaged cd's. I've heard of a couple of internet sites that resurface cd's but I'm kinda weary about sending my games off like that.

F1ReB4LL:
The PerfectRip program stops prior to finishing the dump so I assume it isn't a dumpable disc although I can try and dump it with isobuster / EAC on two different drives.

I'll post back later once I have those results.

If I have a game that PerfectRip states is to damaged to be dumped, should I still submit other information to this site such as header info all the codes on the bottom of the CD etc. or would that be unnecessary since I can't submit the game?

Also the game I'm referring to is Crusader No Remorse for the Sega Saturn which is currently not dumped.

No big deal, I'm a collector so I don't mind owning the game myself.   smile

Sorry for the delay but I just uploaded this through the new disc menu so it should be approved soon

Sorry guys, I haven't dumped it yet. I'm not sure if I have the correct cISO file on my wii. I'm going to dump a couple of my other gamecube games that are already in the database to compare and if they match up then I'll dump Pokemon using the same method. Sorry for the delay.

I just dumped several JAP PS2 games and I need help labeling them since I don't speak or read Japanese. Can one of the Japanese speaking members of the forums please respond to this topic and include the Title & Alternate Title names so I can upload these new discs. Thank you!

I'm kinda new to the wii modding scene so I'm not very familiar with everything yet, I was kinda worried I would lose some functionality if I upgrade the cIOS.

1. So if I install cIOS of rev 19 will that allow me to play the newest games on the market i.e. Super Mario Galaxy 2 etc?

2. Is their any downside to upgrading i.e. losing features that were available in previous versions?

PS I decided to make a couple small changes to Superdump v1.2 & 1.3

I added

- An image to Superdump v1.2 & 1.3
- Added short description to the main menu icon in the homebrew channel
- Added a longer description to the app once clicked before it's loaded to explain about dumping multiple gamecube discs

Download link - http://www.mediafire.com/?hu01nkmwjox

Just put the icon.png & meta.xml in their corresponding folders and load the homebrew channel to see the difference.

Let me know what you think and if you like if feel free to add it to the main post  :-)

Thank you for the help. I found this in the installer.log file, will this identify if my wii is acceptable to dump games without making any additional modifications?

So far I tried dumping Luigi's Mansion and it matched the database entry.

I don't know how to tell which cIOS I'm using, I softmodded my wii using This tutorial though. How can I check the version?

Two more questions:

1. How do you calculate the DOL MD5 value? I saw the tool used to get this but how do you use it? I double clicked the exe file but it won't load. If it makes a difference I'm using windows 7.

2. How do you determine the Disc Sectors since these Gamecube disc's won't load in IsoBuster?

I purchased a Final Fantasy VII Lot on Ebay which contains 7 PS1 disc's & 1 PC disc. After dumping the games and running them through clrmamepro I noticed the two following demo's are identical however they are different prints of the same CD

- Playstation Underground Vol. 2 Disc 2
- Final Fantasy VII standalone demo disc, sent out to mail subscribers

You can tell they are different prints because the PSU Vol. 2 Disc 2 has "Disc 2" printed on the actual disc while the Final Fantasy VII standalone demo disc doesn't have that printed on it.

Both games are verifying as the same dump in the database i.e. PlayStation Underground Volume 1 Issue 2 (Disc 2)

So does that game need to be relabeled or should we just add comments about 2 printings of the game?

I think this is mainly due to the fact that we have a great community with helpful people & admins. So, thanks to everyone for all the help and contributions   smile

Thanks for the offer pepsidrinker but you don't have to worry about sending me any money, if you want you can put that money towards other games that still need to be dumped  :-)

I'm a collector anyway so it will just be added to my collection after I dump it.

I have a softmodded wii so I should be able to dump it with the guide found in the forums here but if I run into any trouble I'll post back here.

Alright... I broke down and bought the $125 copy of this game

I haven't dumped any Gamecube games yet but hopefully it won't be too hard.

velocity37 - thanks for the info about the comparision utility I wasn't aware of it.

And thanks to everyone else for looking into this, I just wanted to make sure the dump was accurate.

So I was going through the PS1 games I uploaded here that haven't been verified and was redumping them with perfect rip to make sure the dumps matched, just to check for accuracy. All the dumps I've did so far match except Ogre Battle I've dumped it with multiple drives including my plextor using the normal method (isobuster & EAC) and came up with the same results that are in the database however when I use Perfect Rip I'm coming up with a discrepancy i.e. tracks 2 & 3 are not matching.

I'll include my most recent EAC log (which matches the original dump) as well as the perfect rip log

Is this dump listed correctly in the database or should I do something else to check for accuracy?

Thank you, that worked like a charm on the too disc's I was having an issue with :-)

I'm having the same problem with the God of War II Disc II and the Metal Gear Solid Vol. 1 DVD. So I'm interested in the response you get.

If we run into this problem how do we dump these games?

I was verifying Oni (USA) and ran into something unusual. The size in the database didn't match the size of my dump although my hash calc values were identical.

When I include the size of a game I usually right click the bin file and use the one labeled (Size on Disc) it looks like IpseDixit used the size option instead. For most games the Size & Size on Disc match each other but this game they are different.

Image Size: 740,675,376 bytes (Size)
Image Size: 740,675,584 bytes (Size on Disc)

Should I be using Size or Size on Disc when submitting entry's?

If it is the size option then the database entry for Oni is correct.

You sir are a genius lol, that worked perfect for Mega Man Legends 2 Demo & Tron Bonne.

That will definitely help me out when I try to dump the other 10 PS1 games I've been waiting to do.

Thanks again!
