if IsoBuster works then MineSweeper should also

It doesn't automount the game partition because that's a kreon feature. However, I think the kreon firmware uses the same commands as original xbox1 drive to unlock the game partition, so what you can try the unlock command in xbox backup creator or schtrom360 and see if that works.

From 12000 to 13000 in record time!

Yay!

PS3 and Xbox360 were already hidden, so there was sense in showing Wii

You can still use the links though

http://redump.org/discs/system/wii/
http://redump.org/datfile/wii/

etc.

The 043cd7b4 one appears to be good.. don't know why EAC messes up the other track.

Ok.. they both seem wrong, so the EAC dump should be okay.

Maybe someone can link you to a version of perfectrip that's a bit older that you can test.. I've heard from iR0b0t that there can be problems sometimes with the b34 (final) version.

The EAC hashes also match fuzzball's jap dumps here: http://redump.org/disc/6471 so they should be good

Could you paste the 2 perfectrip .cue's here? Maybe PerfectRip failed to detect some gaps and this might explain the difference. If the cue's are the same as EAC's then you could try comparing with hex editor.

I think Dremora updated the code to automatically convert ö into oe etc.. At least, that's what I noticed earlier.

Also tell us if you're taking the cover off, or if you're using the escape eject pin.. I remember that with using the escape eject pin, it's really difficult to get a successful swap, especially with the lite-on. When you refresh the TOC it should still show the TOC of the trap disc. If this isn't the case then the swap wasn't successful. I think most of the people were using a USB to ATA converter and had the metal cover screwed off.

Hope someone has the patience to go through every step with you.

And the Samsung SH-D162D also failed for you before?

Dunno, I haven't dumped a DC disc in a long while, but there must be something wrong if you can't get 2 supported drives to work.. maybe the trap disc was burned incorrectly?

Good job, but I think the original logo is a bit bolder (couple pixels maybe)

Sure, why not

It funny that you mention this because I recently redumped my copy of Tomb Raider and it showed me as having some EAC errors but not on the last track.... anyways even with the errors mine matched the database entry exactly so I'm not sure whats going on?

I dumped it using my HL-DT-STDVD-RAM GSA-H55L Drive

Track quality of less than 100% aren't errors.. the dump is fine

What does psxtool's "fix" command actually do? (I like to understand what I'm doing rather than just follow the steps.)

In some cases, the last sector can't be dumped correctly for whatever technical reason, so it's replaced with the correct sector, the same one you would get when dumping scrambled and then unscrambling to circumvent these hardware errors.

..Animation below is actual screen shots. Is this normal?

I guess it is, but that's why we go to this sector from the right side. Just do it as it's described in the guide.

Is it normal for ISOBuster to report the last track's size incorrectly?

IsoBuster has a gap of 352800 bytes appended, so the size doesn't match Redump yes.

If the CRC mismatch is likely because my drives don't support overreading

That seems to be the case..

if I am having an overread error, is there any way to manually fix the last track so I can catalog the new version?

I think someone posted a method with clonecd here some days ago, but I'm unable to find it, so I hope someone can link to it

can anyone recommend a DVD drive model currently available (from Amazon/Newegg etc) that does support overreading?

No idea.. but Specialt1212 bought a cheap Plextor, as did many people, also ones in the US. I guess they got it off ebay, but not sure. Most people don't care about the newer drives, because Plextor is the best brand and they don't make new models anymore.

Thanks, we'll unhide it (at least, I think it was hidden).

The code doesn't allow it afaik.

You're much better off getting a PX760A on ebay.. Who cares if you have to wait a couple days for it? It will save you a lot of headache in the future... nj7 is also in the US and he got one last week or so from ebay.com. We can't help you with newer models, because we don't know them, but most of them probably aren't any good.

Yeah I too had the smell stuck in my nose the other day.. It contains ammonia, so best to use outside or in a ventilated garage or something

Lol anything it can't do?  big_smile plastic surgery maybe?

ECM and PakkIso are not Redump.org softwares.. they are third party tools used on 'other places'. In the end I still don't think this compression format is as practical as it should be. For personal archiving it's a tie for me between torrentzip (though that only works on smaller images) and no compression. Speed and practicality is more important to me than saving every last with slow compression.

btw. that new signature you have there might be offensive to some people  tongue

so we should switch to a proprietary and closed format.. and for what?  roll

So, I bought a bottle of Brasso recently, and found that it fixed my scratched PS2 game (before I got errors in IsoBuster, but after using Brasso it extracted fine). TossEAC and puppydee also reported that it worked for them, so following iR0b0t's suggestion, here's a thread about it. I guess some people are already familiar with this, but I didn't know they sold the stuff where I live, so I never tested it until now big_smile

Here we can discuss things like:

- The best method for repairing

I only fixed 1 disc so far, so I have no idea how I can get the best result. Here's a youtube vid that I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zpEYqdLXWo

If people want to describe or even show their method in a video, plz do so

- Places to buy Brasso

In my country I can just buy it at the local supermarket for less than 2 euro.

- Difference between 150ml liquid bottle and 75g wadding can

Puppydee has the wadding one, so maybe he can tell us what's different about it and if it's better than the liquid one?

- How long (how many CD's / DVD's) does a bottle last usually?

cool

Yes, from 11000 to 12000 in less than 2 months.. amazing job dumpers!

Kirkland brought up a valid issue on IRC about whether to include the Disney and Disney/Pixar logo part in the main title..

Let's take Finding Nemo as an example:

http://www.cdcovers.cc/view/190171/fron … mo-dvd-pal

The spine title is clearly 'Finding Nemo'.. also, no official sources call it 'Disney/Pixar Finding Nemo'.. So maybe it's best to drop this stuff from the title?

Here's one more:

http://www.mobygames.com/game/disneypix … rId,12787/
http://www.cdcovers.cc/view/185941/back … -racer-pal

This one says 'Disney/Pixar's Toy Story Racer' lol..  Other sources just call it 'Toy Story Racer' though, so only the spine has this (in fact most psx games appear to have Disney/Pixar in spine.. but the PS2 ones for instance don't).

So, what should we do with these titles? How far do we go with adding text that's on the cover? We're not adding EA Sports to every game that has it on the cover? And there are many more examples as Kirkland pointed out to me.

Personally, I think it's best to remove these parts from the title, unless they're really part of the title because it's a Disney version of a previous work.. But in those cases I think it's called 'Walt Disney's...' anyway.. Jungle Book is an example of this.

I don't know if we can rely on just the spine.. But if we correct according to spine, most Disney/Pixar should be removed.

That link that robot gave isn't accurate btw, so you shouldn't use it for decision making.

I think that any persons with brains regarding this matter would recommend you to buy a Plextor PX-7*** (preferably 716/755/760)..

Another candidate would prolly be the Samsung SH-D162D, because it's also a versatile (Also works for Xbox(360) and Dreamcast) and reliable drive.
