I have limited the default quicksearch engine to look for: title + foreign title + serial

Very bad idea. Alt. titles & serials are in the "Comments" section, search results are incomplete in many cases.

+1.. default search should also search in comments and contents and maybe also protection

px_d8 is created by Truong Hi and Dremora. Dremora github: https://github.com/Dremora
But px_d8 code didn't exist in this github...

Asked iR0b0t to give you dumper status

Just submit the dump and we'll check it

Someone should give you dumper status and then you can add your dumps using the New Disc menu.. moderators are too lazy/busy to add forum dumps.

My PX-755 is same too.

Could you please investigate this behavior? I'm not having any luck with audio trap disc + DIC, but without trap disc it always reads fine (up to sector 359847)... This LBA limit must be hardcoded somewhere.

Maybe I picked a wrong example then.. or maybe it's the copyright name and people are using copyright names here lol

All caps is not gonna happen unless the letters each have a meaning.. like LEGO for instance. With Soulcalibur it's just stylized.

The audio trapdisc only has 360000 sectors. That's the reason why it aborts there. (At least the one you apparently used.)
The redump wiki has another kind of trapdisc: http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Sega_Dreamcast

Try this one instead.

The audio trap disc that I was using has 1147651 sectors actually, but I'll try making another one, because I haven't had luck with the current one at all (also not with other tools, like cdtool and dcdumper).

But I was not using any trap disc. I can just insert the GD-ROM, run DIC and it will read fine, up to sector 359847, where it aborts. So that's why I'm saying that there must be a firmware limit on the PX-755A.

I'm trying to dump a GD-ROM disc.. I tried a PX-W4824TA and PX-760A but they always give a semaphore timeout error (edit: changed to new version, and no more timeouts at least).. The PX-755A starts dumping, but it only dumps until sector ~359848, then it gives the following error:

D:\dic>dic gd e vigi 8 /c2 10

I did not use any trap disc. With trap disc it refuses to read...

Is this a bug, or is there any way to work around this LBA limit? I also tried dumping with cdtool, but it also ends at the same sector, even when I use trap disc.. So it seems like trap disc isn't needed and the PX-755A has a hardcoded limit? I'm using v1.08 firmware.

Somebody plz reupload!

There's no point in adding dumps with yellow status.. You can try extracting with IsoBuster extract from-to and then correcting the offset with hex editor.. see if it matches EAC dump with dummy pregap added.

We've had maybe 1 or 2 OS X users over the years and not more than a handful of Linux users. From what I recall, it was nearly impossible to get proper CD drive access for dumping features in OS X.. If you insist on using Linux then just run it with Wine.. but since you offered your discs in another thread to a dumper, I guessing you don't have a Plextor drive and DIC would be useless for you anyway then.

Nice job!

So is it possible to identify undumped ones by just looking at the mobo?
I don't have soldering equipment, but I might be able to send you some mobo's if I get them back in 1 piece (live near the German border).. Anyway, I guess you already dumped most PAL models that I have here.

Also, can you tell us what use these dumps will be? Can they help improve emulation?

Finally, are you planning to release the files? I see that MESS already added the decapped one: http://www.psxdev.net/forum/viewtopic.p … &t=431

It was also already obvious from the 00:02:03 pregap that it should be 3 sectors.. Fixed  smile

Grab the x86 one from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … x?id=40784

But yeah, dependencies are annoying (PCSX2 needs the same file)

TheHustle is having a similar issue with his PX-W4824TA in this enclosure: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261352383960

I just tried a PX-W4824TA with this cable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221041878419 and it works fine..

So I'm wondering if this error is caused by certain types of enclosures? or is it really a windows/software issue?

@sarami: x64 builds are no longer working with the newest version:

http://i.imgur.com/t43EucU.png

32bit still working (although it needs msvcr120.dll now.. can't you compile without this dependancy?)

PX-750A is not a real plextor drive so don't buy it.. I would choose the PX-755A (especially since it's cheaper price there than the 716)

Hi,

it seems that DiscImageCreator doesn't detect PregapMode (ccd value) and always sets it to '0', even though many discs have a different value there.. PSX discs need PregapMode 2.. can you fix it so that the correct PregapMode is obtained from the disc?
