Hi Saint Gunjack, thanks for your interest. Do you own the original disc? All media must be dumped from original discs to ensure perfection (no roms downloaded from the internet).

We pretty much only use Disc Image Creator here due to it's features and logs, here is more info smile

You're welcome to message me if you have any questions, I wrote the guide.

I removed them. Having a wiki guide for just verifies only adds to the confusion.

number78, as I understand only PS3 drives can get a New Dump, whereas those models of Blu-Ray drives can only be used for verifications.

I've translated some of this into to a dumping guide: http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … ping_Guide

I have never dumped PS3 discs so I am looking forward to any feedback or help on this.

Jackal, if this could be added to the Dumping Guides wiki page that would be excellent.

I thought "Xbox 1" was referring to original Xbox, not "Xbox One". Y'all just bean confusing.

Just making a gui shouldn't be much too hard to make. I'll see if I can get something done.

Awesome, best of luck. This will make life a lot easier for a good of good, common folk.

Well here it is folks! Or here it can be, I should say. The GUI is simple, effective, and can do everything necessary that the DIC command line can.

Notes:
* Disc Type: This will call certain functions depending on the disc. For example, for PS1 it should also call psxt001z and edccchk and spit out logs for them.
* Command Prompt would serve as a status window similar to how DVD Decrypter displays what is going on.
* The copy buttons would copy all the necessary info from the dats to clipboard where it can easily be copied into the New Disc.

Will it get made?
The truth is those with the ability to code this are least in need of it. Over the past few months I've brought contributers into redump and even moreso than buying a Plextor, they have distaste or inability for using the command line. Hell, even I stopped contributing to redump for 5+ years due to the switch to DIC. After using DIC I realized how GREAT an app it is... but the CLI is a complete insta-No for some people. I don't know how to code, and I don't know how difficult or easy it would be. So I'm putting it here as a proposal, I hope somebody or somebodies is able to take this to the next step.

Worth noting, Schrodinger has Win10 64 bit installed and he had to use the 32 bit VC++ in order to get it to work.

Might be worth looking into sarami?

I have Win10 64 bit and haven't run into any issues.

awesome! glad it worked! I will take note of this solution for the future.

btw: sfc is a standard window command

weird

I'm on Win10 64 bit.

I'm seeing a lot of guides on the internet say:
check for windows updates
update drivers
run system file checker "sfc /scannow"

Silly question, but you installed the right version for your OS right? 32bit vs 64 bit installer?

Also you might want to reinstall by right click "Run as Administrator".

Thanks smile

PX-716 is the series, any drive in that series will work fine (including PX-716A). Try to make sure the drive is working before buying and always get a refund if it isn't when it arrives if the auction says "good".

From the wiki: "SFOInfo + Batch file to extract info"

SFOInfo is preserved, but the batch file is gone. Does anyone have the batch file?

Good time to remind people that mediafire/etc is NOT permanent storage and archive.org is better for this kind of thing.

Does this mean checksums are bad for these or no? I have the Karat disc to run some tests if necessary.

great guy, he has some newer systems too.

Awesome, I've tried following the GD-Rom guide along (just reading, not testing) and I had no idea what's going on so best of luck.

Which dumping guides are you referring to, the Disc Image Creator ones? They are pretty much minimal information and as stripped down as much as possible.

Thanks for the input pool7, you and khn are probably the top PS1 unlicensed experts in the world xD

I hope you can help advise on splitting up the many PSX unlicensed systems accurately since that seems to be the course...

Fireball if there is any problem with ripping these discs normally with DIC I hope you will speak up to advise. More will be coming in this upcoming week.

Differently as in not with DIC? I have that Karat disc so let me know. khn will be dumping a dozen or so soon so now is a good time to fill in any missing details.

Since we are now splitting PlayStation cheat discs based on hardware dependency we will need two more systems added to account for the Japan Karat discs that are going to be dumped very soon by kHn as well as the one already in redump:

Please create:
"PlayStation Pro Action Replay 2 (Japan)"
"PlayStation Pro Action Replay 3 (Japan)"

The covers of these discs specify a version number so it is unlikely they are cross compatible.

I'm sure there will be several more cheat systems to be added in the future, but these two systems are necessary now to maintain cohesion with the PlayStation GameShark set split decision.

Please move this disc to the system "Pro Action Replay 3 (Japan)" http://redump.org/disc/45790/

PS: I know the decision to split these sets was made with the correct intentions, but it will create a mess. Either way, I think redump needs to be consistent about their decision, so if GameShark splits, the others dependent on hardware add-on should as well.

Very cool! Are you in USA then? Do you have any PS2 demos as well?

thanks for posting smile
