Ah, ok !
So, I'll Keep (And I'll submit) Redumper dumps of the two others games (iM1A2 Abrams & Take No Prisoners)
Thanks both of you guys, for your time, informations and advices !
Deterous, I think you forgot to update the Error Count on the page http://redump.org/disc/118659/
Error Count : 2
Pregap length of track 30 and 32 is different.
Last subQ all tracks and second subQ from the last of all tracks is weird. It seems a mastering issue.
Doesn't ReDump & DIC should read the same pregap lengh & SubQ infos as they read discs at block level ?
I'm not expert enough to decide which dumps are to be considered corrects ^^
In what way did you think that DIC is better?
Oh, I think I read that in some forums. I thought that it was the reason why Redumper was later accepted than DIC for dumps.
I assume that I'm wrong
Also, please update your MPF to the latest version (3.3.0) which contains the recommended version of Redumper and has fixed a lot of bugs.
Done ! I'm on 3.3.0 now !
I redumped these 3 discs with the new MPF version, but get the same results.
Hi,
When I started submitting discs, I mostly used Redumper. Then, I saw that DIC was better, in particular with mixed Data-Audio discs, so...
I'm in the process of redumping all my discs with DIC & Redumper to ensure all my dumps are correct.
I need help to figure out a weird situation with 3 discs.
The two firsts are covermount games that have not been submitted yet. (iM1A2 Abrams & Take No Prisoners).
(Single track/Not mixed discs)
I dumped each game 4 times :
- 2 times with Redumper (1x & 4x)
- 2 times with DiscImageCreator (1x & 4x)
And... I get consistent different dumps.
Redumper consistent dumps differs from DiscImageCreator consistent ones.
The thrid game is Heroes of Might & Magic II (That have been submitted : http://redump.org/disc/118659/)
(Mixed disc)
I just redumped this game six times.
- 3 times with Redumper (1x, 4x & 8x)
- 3 times with DiscImageCreator (1x, 4x & 8x)
And again, I get consistent differents dumps between Redumper & DiscImageCreator.
All the discs are in a good shape, no scratches, no moisture.
The question is : Which dumps should I trust to be the good ones : DIC dumps or Redumper dumps ?
Your help would be appreciated
Regards,
Thanks !
I was able to check my backup using edccchk.
(I'll use edccchk as it's more convenient)
Hi,
Some times ago, I submitted a "game/music" software named "eJay Rave 2".
I know that this kind of software is not in the scope of Redump, but I would like to keep a functionnal personnal backup of this disc.
(Discarded dump link : http://forum.redump.org/topic/57900/rave-2-ejay/)
I've noticed that sometimes, when a game is added to the Redump Library, the "cue" file is different from the on generated by MPF, the "MODE" in particular.
Here is the one generated for "eJay Rave 2" :
FILE "RAVE_EJAY2.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
So, here is my question : Does the "cue" file content seems correct to you ? (Particularly the "MODE" ?)
If someone would be kind enough to help me, here are the logs : https://mega.nz/file/pa41TbgJ#OyTf8LLsE … DVt9RKp4lM
Hi,
Thank for your help, but unfortunately, none of my attempts worked.
I'm not able to match the hashes anymore, even with aaru.
I think I've really scratched my disc
I'll try to find another one any time soon !
Ragards,
Hi,
I'm looking for help to dump "Simpsons, The - Hit & Run (France) (Disc 1)"
(Redump DB : http://redump.org/disc/105474/)
At first, I thought that my disc was faulty, but I can achieve the same hash as Nemok if dumping with Aaru and convert to bin file.
(I get loads of C2 & Device Timeout Errors when trying with Redumper)
I know that I can't submit Aaru dumps/conversions, so I'm asking for help on this.
I searched in the Dump History forum to try to find the method Nemok used, but I can't find the corresponding thread.
Does any Redump staff member have access to his dump logs ?
Does my issue have something to do with "subchannels" ?
Regards,
So, if I understand well :
First Error Count includes discs DRM protection, that is to say errors caused by copy protection voluntary defective sectors
Second Error Count includes physical unabilities to read sectors, which probably implies "defective" or scratched discs
Thanks for your clarification Lugamo !
Hi,
There are two different error counts in the "!submissionInfo.txt" file.
I suppose that the one that has to be entered in the disc form is the first. Example :
Barcode: 5 030931 031311
Error Count: 591
Comments: [T:VOL] FREEDOM FIGHTERS
Contents:
There is a second one in the "Dumping Info" section. Example :
Dumping Info:
Frontend Version: 3.2.1-00089b799c0d1e34c6a4aac4a7a4863c69810421
Dumping Program: Redumper v2024.05.27 build_371
Date: 2024-09-13 14:11:44
Manufacturer: PLEXTOR
Model: DVDR PX-716A
Firmware: 1.11 (03/23/07 15:10)
Reported Disc Type: CD-ROM
C2 Error Count: 0
Can someone explains the difference between these ?
Thanks !
