This verification adds the missing ringcode metadata and contents.

Also note that the "Edition" is just the publisher. The developers of the game released it digitally, but partnered with Cheapass Games (a board game publisher) to release simple disc editions. So the edition should be "Original" IMO.

This verification adds the missing ringcode metadata and contents.

Also note that the "Edition" is just the publisher. The developers of the game released it digitally, but partnered with Cheapass Games (a board game publisher) to release simple disc editions. So the edition should be "Original" IMO.

Merely HDDVD drive doesn't support DVDGetRegion. Same error occurs for my GGW-H20N.
Btw, other application (e.g. isobuster) can dump your disc? How many HDDVD do you have? All HDDVD you have can't be dumped?

I tried using Aaru to dump the disc, but the drive overheated after some time, and shut off. I thought the drive was completely dead, but it started working again after I let it rest.

Isobuster said I could dump the disc, but it wouldn't be sure if it'd work due to encryption.

The disc was 300 (so you know, one of the rotting discs.) but it was still kinda working, so I wanted to see if I could dump it. I haven't tried any of my other discs.

... so is there anything I can do to see why this error is happening? It's clearly doing something DIC doesn't like, and I don't know how to send you that information so it can be fixed.

sarami, DIC does not let me dump an HD DVD disc using a Toshiba TS-L802A drive (this is an HD DVD drive for laptops that connects via slim IDE.) I plugged it into a USB laptop drive adapter, and it can read discs fine, but it won't let me dump an HDDVD because it shows me that error above ([F:DVDGetRegion][L:472] GetLastError: 1, Incorrect function.)

Is there anything I can do? I just want to dump my discs.

What is the command to dump an HD DVD? I tried using the program to dump one, but it closes after it gets the error shown here.

StartTime: 2023-03-24T22:44:53-0700
Set the drive speed: 22160KB/sec
[F:DVDGetRegion][L:472] GetLastError: 1, Incorrect function.

        ---------------------------
        Space: 141129486336 bytes
=> There is enough disk space for dumping

The wiki has the command line parameters for cd, bd and dvd, but not hddvd...

Topic. I want to add some info on MIA discs, please.

16

(3,536 replies, posted in General discussion)

... yes.

So why is it pulling info from four layers when the disc can only hold only one layer of data? Wouldn't that mean the rest of the data is garbage?

Wouldn't it make more sense to only pull info for the layers that are actually written to the disc, and mark the ones that are not used as "layers not present / not burned" or something like that?

17

(3,536 replies, posted in General discussion)

I just dumped a single layer BD-R that I burned as part of some testing I was doing. I noticed that the _disc.txt file seems to have four times the information, as if it had four layers. I'm not sure where this information is being derived from, since this disc only has... one layer. It was a single layer 25 GB disc. I assume only the first section of information (Layer 0) is valid, so where is the other info being pulled from? Layers 1-3 are for 50/100/128GB discs and I'm not sure why that's being added. Or is that always present in recorded discs?

I've attached the text file and hope you can help.

18

(3,536 replies, posted in General discussion)

That fixed it, and the dump was able to proceed as normal. smile

19

(3,536 replies, posted in General discussion)

Okay.

Attempted to dump http://redump.org/disc/62090/ , two different discs produce the same result. I ran it through MPF, and the window closed. So Silas suggested I do it from a command line and DIC just closes after detecting the securom version on this disc, with no errors. I tried two different copies of the same disc, they all crashed the same.

Removing /ns and /sf allowed the disc to dump fine.

Tried to dump what I believe was this disc http://redump.org/disc/21540/

And it crashed when scanning the files on it. See attached image.
