11 dorimaga cover DVD's
as far as I know, Domrimaga, started out life as a Dreamcast magazine in Japan, then changed to multi format later in it's print run.

These DVD's are DVDVideo (VOB) and additionaly most have some other PC based format video (AVI, WMV, etc)

I can't submit them without the proper titles and Their contents translating.

I don't care at all about your p2p sharing and "sets" as all that stuff is not at all important to this projects goals. If you can't organize files by region yourself, that's your issue and nothing to do with preservation.

Aggressive much?

Actually IMO:   Just as important as the integration of the Bonus discs in the DAT is the integration of metadata like the SBI files for the PSX DAT.

Would all just be named  "007 Racing"

anyway, back on topic

I fully agree that as it stands these discs absolutely need to have the originating system somehow defined in the Filename:
it is the quickest and easiest way to collate them.

the question is, from the sound of it, how to link them in the DB. (other than in the comments which obviously doesn't work for DAT functionality)
IF we go with the option of including Bonus discs in the system DATs (assuming they are linked somehow with one or more 'Parent' discs in the DB) what happens when there are discs from multiple regions have the exact same Bonus Disc,  What is the logic used?.

Eg:

Playstation2.game (Germany) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (France) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (Spain) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (Italy) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (United Kingdom) (Special Edition)

The bonus DVD Would be named presumably:

Playstation2.game (Europe) (Bonus DVD) (Bundled with Special Edition)

Which original becomes the parent?

and how do they become included in multiple DATs when the bonus discs matches accross systems and regions:
(I can't find any examples from a quick search, so this is a massive hypothetical) but for example:

say

Playstation2.game (Germany) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (France) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (Spain) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (Italy) (Special Edition)
Playstation2.game (United Kingdom) (Special Edition)
Xbox.game (Germany) (Special Edition)
Xbox.game (France) (Special Edition)
Xbox.game (Spain) (Special Edition)
Xbox.game (Italy) (Special Edition)
Xbox.game (United Kingdom) (Special Edition)
Gamecube.game (Germany) (Special Edition)
Gamecube.game (France) (Special Edition)
Gamecube.game (Spain) (Special Edition)
Gamecube.game (Italy) (Special Edition)
Gamecube.game (United Kingdom) (Special Edition)

all come with the very same Region 2 Bonus DVD

What does that DVD get named? and how is it included with the system DATs ?

Is the option to just include comments and Metadata in the DATs or keep them as is but add a lot more information to the comments section?  should you have to refer the the website to find this information out?

Extract the track as raw data(2352) in ISObuster that should match the DIC output with all the ECC etc (rather than just the user data)

ask away. i might learn something too smile

Personally, all my dumps are all kept in their original bin format, Checked against the DAT,  renamed, tzipped and organized by RomVault.
Whilst tzip probably doesn't achieve the highest compression rate, it is certainly a lot faster than 7z or other methods.
A lot of emulators will allow you to open the zip directly too (although i don't know if that applies to current PSX emulators).

Logs from mine:  (Sega Screams Vol 1)
those tracks are indeed empty.

https://mega.nz/#!exEmHARI!_Aoi1EfFFhpC … wycNU6E304

ok, last follow up, it's 3AM here.

the img files match the combined CRC from the dumps page.

see attached image.

Obviously that's for batch conversion.
syntax to just do a single image would just be:

sbitools.exe -cue2ccd  <path to cue file>

It's worth noting that you should probably delete the LSD patches folder (or the contents thereof) before starting just in case a filename clashes with a PSX image filename.

Theres a couple of ways of scripting this

by far the easiest would be to use SBITools.
It should work perfectly for this purpose.

https://github.com/Kippykip/SBITools/releases

you could script it using forfiles.   (you could try a for loop but the spaces in the filenames will be a complete ballache to escape)

Something along the lines of (in this example I have a few cue/bin images extracted in one folder and have placed sbitools in the same folder. )

forfiles /M "*.cue" /C "cmd /C sbitools.exe -cue2ccd @file"

the output was: (apologies its a bit lengthy)

Z:\Saturn Extracted>forfiles /M "*.cue" /C "cmd /C sbitools.exe -cue2ccd @file"

the result was a new subfolder called CCD was created, in which is a IMG/CCD/SUB/CUE image created from the redump images.

try it out, you will see what I mean.

@AMOK.

Might be worth having a look at the code that combines the ~CRC32 values if iR0bo0t is willing to share or writing something from scratch, pretty sure it cant be that hard and maybe looking to script something (Python/PHP?) to generating the combined CRC32 from the DAT files themselves.  at least that way you wont need to scrape the pages in cases of corrections / updates.

Slightly off topic:

from the sounds of it you are probably heavily invested in the the Phoebe/Rhea ODE but maybe worth a look at the upcoming Satiator from professor abraisive,

I am currently awaiting the beta board for testing.

one of the main advantages being his cue parser is specifically designed for split bin/cue images along with leaving the actual optical drive untouched obviously.  plus there in nothing in Saturn Subs that isnt covered by the redump .cue

Is there a way to try this by manually adjusting the sector ranges (in the txt file generated from the SS.bin) with freecell?

just did a quick check in PPSSPP and it looks like at least the main menu obeys the system language.

screenshots for IT and ES attached.

Alternatively....

open your cue file in ISObuster and right click each track and > extract RAW, 2352 bytes/block

and save each track as track xx.bin

redump bin = wav just without the RIFF header.
just strip the first 22 bytes (google it and double check that - i'm going from memory here) and rename to .bin

edit.... it might actually be 44 bytes, i can't remember, anyway as i say google will help.

if you're still around @LedZeppelin68 and still have the source code and fancy updating it?

Had to use this today - doesn't work going from TOSEC to redump with the new .cue based DATs

if you open the DAT with your editor of choice and replace all instances of ".cue" with ".gdi" it will work again. (ctrl+h is your friend)

or if you're like me an inline sed will do the trick

sed -i 's/.cue/.gdi/g' /path-to-and/name-of-dat.dat

besides, if you've even bothered to look at the game's wikipedia article you might learn something really interesting regarding its "limited edition" release

yes and the wikipedia article clearly states that it was a bonus DVD and soundtrack.
nothing in the slightest about the game differing.

in summary:
The limited Edition came with a seperate 'Making of' bonus disc and soundtrack CD - Both of which are dumped. (was the same bonus package for PS2 and Xbox as far as i can tell)  the XBOX game itself looks to be the same as retail

the PS2 was a different game disc and again both are dumped.
