User7 is correct, Should be submitted as

Desire Koushiki Digital Genga-shuu
and
PC-FX Best Character Koushiki Digital Genga-shuu Vol.2

even then the Moderator who adds the dumps will correct them to follow the proper naming convention.

*** EDIT ****
Didnt see the original poster. so like yeah man, go with ^those and they will get fixed, just be like me and say it's a load of Squiggles smile

(whatever I put is invariably wrong haha)

I really don't understand how this differs from say PC pressed games that might be sent around the world or to different, specific countries.

Good point, I agree.

there was a couple of my own dumps that I didnt understand the region of when added, namely
http://redump.org/disc/64771/
and
http://redump.org/disc/69152/

One was bought from a US seller and the other  a Japanese auction.
but i guess if they were manufactured in france for worldwide distribution then that was the region assigned to the disc.

yeah, Ignore that bad logic, if you go my manufactured region then all discs mastered by nimbus should be assigned to Wales.

** EDIT **
ah, but speaking of Unlicensed discs, quite often they come in a choice of packaging styles (speaking specifically of the Dreamcast stuff)
you can order some of them in EU/USA/Japan packaging but they will all be manufactured in the same place, so i guess the home region would take precendent then or as User7 says, 'world'

a very recent example is Xeno Crysis from BitMap Beureau
https://shop.bitmapbureau.com/collectio … &pid=1

you can order with any of the 3 region styling but they will be all manfactured in the same place and i guess the discs are the same contents (until proven otherwise).

I would say yes to all TBH.

speaking of which,  have just taken delivery of 25 Kiss-Site discs. (and more on the way)
if you can forgive the potato camera quality

You mean 1M, 2M, etc.

it relates to the mastering code for the disc.

Here's an example of a Game disc where multiple pressings / masters exist
1M
http://redump.org/disc/3248/
2M
http://redump.org/disc/24292/

in most if not all cases the only difference is that the Audio tracks are shifted slightly differently (offset)

note how the hashes for the data track are identical.

I finally got around to testing my pile of plextors. (like ~25 drives) the other day.

by far the biggest failure rate was from the PX-708A and PX-716A drives that i had piled up.
100% failure from the PX-708A   (1/1 drives faulty)
50% failure rate from the PX-716A (3 of 6 were completely knackered)

but then again the one PX-716UF I have has been a really stable drive.

Thats some update @Sarami, Thanks smile

One of the guys more proficient with Ninty dumping will confirm but i think the correct syntax for that system is

Discimagecreator.exe dvd <drive letter> "path\filename.iso" <speed> /raw

try tagging that /raw onto the end of your cmd and see if it helps.

Sarami,

Can you take a look at this dump.

http://forum.redump.org/topic/26627/fmt … nd-sarami/

LBA for some empty audio sectors is coming out as -150 tried a few recent DIC versions.

Hi a_team,

The data for Playstation is fully viewable to unregistered users @ http://redump.org/discs/system/psx/
Currently there are hashes for 10,205 Discs for that system to assist you in verifying that your own backups are correct.
you can apply various filters or use the search function at the top of the page to help find the disc that you are interested in.

DAT files and cuesheets are available to download to use with your preferred file management software to assist with renaming and compressing your backups to match our naming convention.

If by 'looking for' you are under the impression that you can download the game discs here, then you are mistaken, Redump is simply a database of file hashes, cataloging optical media for many different gaming consoles and computing platforms. There are no 'ISOs' or 'ROMs' available on the site. This is a common misconception, the Redump community wouldn't still be around after so many years if that were the case.

didn't it take google engineers like 100 years of CPU time to do a POC collision for SHA-1 ?

edit:  nope i was a mile off,

Nine quintillion (9,223,372,036,854,775,808) SHA1 computations in total
6,500 years of CPU computation to complete the attack first phase
110 years of GPU computation to complete the second phase

I don't think we have anything to be worried about there for the forseable future.

ah OK,

Delete the .cue file from your source (working) directory.

it will then work

48

(9 replies, posted in Guests & account requests)

which image exactly ?
is that the only track that needs fixing? that behaviour doesn't sound right.

here for example is my recently submitted dump (for Redump) of "Chocolat - Maid Cafe 'Curio' Taikenban"
it's not even in the redump DB yet.

if i put my binary files in the working folder.
add the destination DAT (in this case "Sega Dreamcast - Samplers (TOSEC-v2019-12-22_CM).dat")
select the dump and destination folder and click convert.

all three files (tracks) are rebuilt to the folder i selected as the destination:

https://i.ibb.co/7bYKbZC/Capture.jpg

The output folder then contains a set of files that match the TOSEC / Dumpcast dump:

@bilsmaks.

What is your problem?

Which way are you converting?

if you see my comment at the end of that thread, since we switched to .cue instead of .gdi for these discs (it's a long and very much maligned topic) then some manual steps editing the dat are required when converting in certain circumstances.

bin = wav just without the wave header.

http://redump.org/discs/sort/system/dumper/nitro322/

?none of your dumps have audio tracks, i'd say redump all the discs you are talking about and add them as verifications anyway.
