"Taikenban" means "demo".

I don't know about "Demo 1" and "Demo 2", but "Taikenban" should "definitely" be replaced with "Demo".

@Jackal maybe you could send me a PDF of the page or something

It just redirects to the homepage.

What date? "2005"? There may be more than one 2005 demo for all we know.

On No-Intro, demos are basically split up into (Demo) and (Demo) (Kiosk).
I've never seen any labelled with numbers, but kiosk demos used at trade shows were labelled with the first trade show (e.g. (Demo) (Kiosk) (E3 2005) they were (first) used at, to differentiate with (Demo) (Kiosk) which is used for store kiosk demos.

I think its important to make a distinction between demos that are sold/given to consumers, and kiosk demos.

I've never seen a demo labelled with a number on No-Intro or Redump. @Jackal could post links for some?

Can normal Dumpers edit that sort of data? When/if I get access to the database I would be happy to rename demos, if such an action was approved by whoever needs to approve that sort of thing.

Thanks, I've received the email and will change the password.

I would like an account with the name "Hiccup". I want to add some Japanese demos to the GameCube undumped list, based on photos found in eBay entries and Japanese blogs.

You should probably ask your plextor question in a main sub-forum, as you might get a response tongue

Depending on the platform, you could check which ones are undumped via the per-"ROM" IDs on the disc and just do those. There are platforms that don't have these IDs of course.

You're not allowed to ask for or share copyrighted files here.

When submitting your dump, you should also transcribe the text on the back and front of your disc and the barcode on the back of your game box.

Version - This is the revision number. Found on the back of the disc (WUP-P-AMZE-00 USA S0) - part of the Mastering Code / Toolstamp - and also can be confirmed in the ROM header in a similar plain-text format (forgot the specifics and don't have an disc image to hand to check)
Serial - From the front of the disc. This identifies the disc label or something like that.
Mastering Code / Toolstamp - I think this can differ between byte-for-byte identical discs, but I'm not sure. It certainly differs between different game IDs (e.g. Breath of the Wild (USA) vs Super Mario 3D World (USA) or Breath of the Wild (USA) vs Breath of the Wild (Europe) and revisions (e.g. Super Mario 3D World (USA) (v1.00) vs Super Mario 3D World (USA) (v1.01)).
Barcode - I think this is the box barcode, yeah.

Same as you, this is just from prior experience and looking at other's submissions. tongue

if no-intro naming rules are being followed, shouldn't demo discs be done like this?:
Game Name (Demo)

rather than

Game Name (Europe) (Demo Version)
or
Game Name (Europe) (Trial Edition)
or
Game Name (Europe) (Taikenban)
or
Game Name Demo (Europe)
etc

i.e. ignoring whatever way the on-disc/on-box text calls the demo, and just giving it the generic label "demo"

and optionally an extra "kiosk" label, like no-intro does.
e.g. Game Name (Demo) (Kiosk)

or maybe Game Name (Kiosk Demo) or Game Name (Demo, Kiosk) instead

I always thought "V" was for version.

Are we talking about UKV on discs, or packaging?

Bump. Can someone help with this?

I'm trying to dump my Wii Sports (Europe) (v1.01) disc with CleanRip, but I have come across some problems. This is what I did:

  • Load cleanrip

  • Try to use USB, but it doesn't detect it

  • Use two SD cards instead. But it doesn't create a log and only creates four chunks.

is this normal? What should I do?

How can you access the patches sub-forum? I don't have a problem with getting scene releases. But I'm more interested in verified/trusted dumps rather than scene dumps, thats why I am interested in patches.

I do. smile

Would making patches (e.g. xdelta) to convert normal versions of games into rare one, and posting them be acceptable?
That way people who own the actual game, can still play around with versions that weren't sold without having to buy or download the demo/beta.

Okay. smile

Would it be okay to make a thread showing what scene dumps match the good dumps (redump's dumps) and which don't, or would that not be allowed?

If I ever buy it, I will post the info etc from it to here. smile
Also, I will soon post the info on the Wii discs I currently own.
