Bumping this thread on your behalf...

Reuploaded rusted_planet's google drive files to mega: https://mega.nz/folder/YNxWDR5C#qK1V1louE7CCJr3EErZlPQ

Sometimes people don't include certain serials/barcodes from discs/boxes, so it can be useful to fill that info out.

What do I need to do in order to checking the read methods of those drives?

Well I think testing them with DiscImageCreator, and checking if you get the same hashes for some discs that are already in the database, would be a good start.

Yes, like other systems, there are hashes for the disc images - CRC32, MD5 and SHA1.

I've PM'd you the Wii U dat and a PDF of the Wii U disc listing so you can compare.

The publisher code is stored in the company_code field in /meta/meta.xml. Human readable publisher name info is stored in the same file, in the publisher_* fields, where * is the language (en,fr,de,it,es,zhs,ko,nl,pt,ru or zht in the one i have at least).

I invited Voodooween here as he has an undumped Wii U demo disc.

I think you need around 5 dumps to get dumper status.

Redump isn't an emulation/backup-loader support forum, but can this ISO be run with different software/hardware? E.g. PCSX2 or freedvdboot?

I've been able to categorise quite a few "suspected revisions" listed on the undumped lists as "unlikely to exist", so this has been quite useful for that at least.

Thanks, forgot to update the link there. Fixed now.

I worked out the format of the Nintendo disc mastering codes
http://hiccup.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Ninten … ering_Code
This might be useful for people, including moderators who can use this info to check for possible mis-transcriptions of mastering codes.

Just for consistency with other discs dumped for this site.

However, this is not hidden palace. You can find an email for hidden palace at the bottom of Hidden Palace site, under the "DMCA" link. However, we'd welcome a submission of your disc's metadata.

Betas/alphas can be submitted too.

I'm afraid data can't be mixed and matched between different discs. Autofire, if you could submit your hash data in a different thread, that would be good.

I suggest asking on the VGPC discord channel.

I don't think its practical to fake ROMs currently, but in the future it may be, so I think it'd be a good idea to get future-proof hashes before that point arrives.

"Why would anyone try to crack the hashes of games' images?"
Just to mislead people.

CRC32, MD5 and SHA-1 are all broken and it will just become easier for people to misuse their weakness in the future. I suggest that redump adds a field for SHA-256 to disc pages. Or even if iR0b0t doesn't want to add a new field, the data could be added in the comment field. Of course for discs added before this change, the information will have to be added retroactively as fixes.

For non-disc based games (SNES, N64, digital stuff on PS/XB/Nintendo) you may be interested in No-Intro:
http://forum.no-intro.org/index.php

I'm afraid disc images can't be shared and aren't stored on this site. Some disc images can be found on the internet (shared despite copyright law), but that depends if other people who have dumped the game in a way that produces a matching file, have shared them.

Regarding sensitivety of the data: that's a valid concern, but only for recent discs. And the data should still be stored, but kept private for a while.

I don't think the rawdump comparison is valid. Redump dumping methods are "natural"/replicable ways of interpreting the data - not something that is done manually to fix something that is seen as mistake.

I can think of two ways to do it (within the current database):

1. Each disc would have a different entry, but with a comment/tag explainging that its the same as the other discs apart from the ID
2. There would only be one entry for the discs and the hash is of the disc with the unique data FF'd/00'd out. This unique data would then be listed in the comment.

As I understand it, wudump reads the discs in basically the same way the system does when playing them, although it probably does less checks on the disc than the system menu, so it might work better. But if you have no luck with that you could use disc2app to make filesystem dumps of the discs. These aren't disc images so can't be submitted to redump, but they could still be useful.

Here is the undumped list, in case you have any of those and want to prioritise them:
