The first disc I scanned with burnout, and it said it coul be CD/DVD Check.

What now!

Im glad its going to be relatively easy to do. I didn't know you couldn't play without subscription, but I do know my cousin plays online.

One final question, and this is a really dumb one, is it still worth me adding the dumps, even though you will need subscription; yes?

My cousin is a big fan of World of Warcraft, and has quite a lot of the discs, his computer has just got infected, so I'm going to format it for him. But he moans it takes to long to install WoW. So I suggested I make backups of his discs so he can install them from the images using Daemon Tools.

I'm going to dump them then add the dumps here, but I don't know if they are protected, or what the exact method is, Im presuming isobuster, and Im presuming they are dvds without protection.

Anyone's help or knowhow, would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What would be nice is a numeric digit, next to all the green light status discs, showing the amount of times it been verified as a good dump.

LIKE THIS: http://redump.org/images/status/green.png11

But maybe use numbers that are in a smaller font than everything else.

Then I could add up all the dumps to see the GRAND TOTAL smile

No one ever replys to how many dumps+redumps their are.

So I'll ask the question one moe time, but in the ACIENT UNIVERSALL Language of "GAROOEK-SLEE-KLAK"

FATOO BE SEELE -- YEEIIIR SELOUU YATFUT, MEEKEBALO RA-TO-SOU KREE FALLOU SUTTS.

Basically translated "Any ideas?" smile

I still wonder how many discs have been dumped, its not 13000, thats different discs, we should find out how many dumps have been dumped, if you include every verification by everyone, It must be about 40,0000 or more. That 's what I reckon, 13,000 x 3 dumpers = 39,0000

And some dumps have a lot more than 3 dumpers smile hee hee, give us the GRAND TOTAL ASWELL NEXT TIME PLEASE. smile

With a powerfull lens or magnifying glass, obviously  big_smile

But the best technique, is not to look through your lens and at your disc, as though you were viewing the disc from --> straight above, instead angle your disc at about 45% away from your eye so you look over it at an angle (like a plane coming into land, the disc is the runway, and your eye is the pilots eye).

You also need to have a light on, or the sun shining, be carefull reading them in bright sunlight, as the reflection of the sun of the disc could definately damage your eyes.

It seems a lot clearer that way, I doubt many of us can loose the magnifying glass, but its definately better to angle it away from you.  smile

This is a bit trivial I know, but I struggle to read rings, fullstop. And I am just trying to help those in this situation, like me.

thanks, I was hoping someone would like, now to hopefully catch the eye of someone who could implement it without to much problems, ps. I get a new 2TB TO CONTINUE with PS2, tommorrow, so watch this space, all will be well. smile

I missed out on a chance to get my 2TB drive, they were out of stock when I checked this morning, so I told my mum who was going to get it not to bother, then they got them in stock, but before I could get a new message to my mum, the shop was closed. Just my luck.  mad  It'll be tuesday now.  mad

I'll try to explain what this idea I've had is, and see if you think it would be any good.

Basically you know when your on the main page, and your logged in, well say I want to view my Play Station 2 games I have ticked, I can bring the list up "My Sony Playstaion 2 discs", and if you chamge the http:\adress to miss instead of have, it shows all the games your missing aswell.

Well firstly the lists are generated and always have the correct up-to-date names.

So how about an edit button, that allows you to paste a list that you have made from your actuall folders on your harddrive.

Once the list has been pasted in, it checks for wrong names, and continues to display a small list of any names that aren't found for that system.

Then you could easily rename games, and generate a new list, and repeat step 1 again untill it says list has been accepted and returns 0 foreign names (or names not found).

Once the list you have pasted is accepted then it would automatically tick them for you.

That would save the site some bandwidth load, because of people ticking, and then refreshing to see the ticks appear.

Any mods think it could be good/possible let us know, I'm sure it could be done in a stylish manner, to improve the users overall site experience.

I'm actuaslly really tired at the moment but I'm still struggling to sleep, my brains working 2x, and thats when I tend to get my little brain waves, when I haven't slept for days.  cool

I just like experimenting, and I like the xbox drives because they read discs which are difficult to read, scratched discs & dvd's with cheep dyes that don't read in certain drives.

I was thinking and still might, of asking my mate if he could make an xbox drives power lead to 4-pin molex, so I can just have the drive inside my pc without the xbox.

I have plenty of samsungs, this isn't why I wanted to try this.

I had heard about people using drives from xbox360's to dump games on their pc and just thought this would have been the way this went.

Sorry if I have wasted your time, I'm, forever curious as to what can/can't be done.

It's weird because the drive acts exactly like a PC drive, which is not what I expected at all. I would have at least thought xbox games would read no probs, since its out of an xbox, weird?

Still no joy, I tried xx=02 - Unlock state 2 (wxripper) enabled and it still didn't see the video partition in isobuster, and minesweeper didn't work. This drive I'm using is SDG-605f not SDG-605b. Will that make any difference.

[Slightly off subject] is their supposed to be a firmware for the SDG-605b that lets backups work in your XBOX rather than getting the xbox modded/soft/hartd.

I'll try Unlock state 2 (wxripper) enabled and see what happens.

I have just tried unlocking the game partition, and that worked ok.

I used isobuster next, and it extracted the right amount of sectors minus the vide partition, which it didn't see.

When I joined the two isos together, the dump didn't match.

In isobuster I chose to skip errors and replace with zeroes, and apply to selection.

I chose the first unlock option in schromm, ixtreme.

Minesweeper didn't work, I presume because it didn't see the video partition, after it was unlocked with schromm.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I am clueless as to what.

I noticed that, suppose I will try again then.

Neither did work, as I said xbc doesn't see the drive, and schromm v3.1 and v4.1 don't seem to have any unlock game partition options.

Maybe I'm behind the time and need new versions. I did notice support for SDG-605b in xbc, but I'm using an SDG-605f.

It doesnt say whether it is (b) or (f) on the drive itself, only within windows itself does it tell you.

Maybe now, I have a way to connect xbox drives, I could try a few didfferent SDG-605 drives and see if I have one that is a 605b.

I won't give up just yet, and if you know something I don't please let me know, thanks tossEAC. smile

Wow thanks will have a look, but xbox backup creator doesnt see the drive, so I don't think that will work, but it might with schtrom360 because that see's the drive.

Would I read it with isobuster, or would minesweeper possibly work.

Firstly this is what I have done,

I got my broken xbox and have removed the lid.

Inside it is the dvdrom drive, which works, and is wired to only the power from the xbox.

The ide cable is plugged into my PC.

When I boot the PC and switch on the xbox it sees the drive. and lets me use it, pretty much the same as any drive.

But when it comes to inserting an xbox original disc, it only sees the Video partition in isobuster, and minewseeper doesn't work.

I haven't flashed the drive at all.

Is their anything I can do in the way to rip an original xbox disc, or am I just chasing pointless rainbows again.

Is their anything this drive from my xbox in my pc can do?

thanks for any info regarding this.

Very cool. Thanks for the info !
I still don't get it why DC md5s downloaded from redump contain "track1.bin" "track2.bin" etc filenames, instead of the same ones as written in the gdi file ..

I wondered that too a long time ago, when I dumped all my DC games.

I got the jap version for next to nothing. Why is the USA one going for so much.??

I have no probs using SH-D162D, dumps every time, using pin eject method.

I use a Pentium Duo (x64), with winxp, and I don't bother with ASPI 4.60 just CDRWin.

But - and this is a BIG BUTT.

I used to dump, with a much lower spec PC, and most times it would dump ok, but quite often the dump, had errors it shouldn't have had.

Since I swapped the dumping to a much faster PC the dumps dump everytime perfectly.

Maybe this info was of use? But it might have something to do with your PC's specs. Not enough fast memory, or a slow cpu/gpu.

If you think it is the firmware you are using, maybe, I use kreon fw.

Being into computers, has purpose and meaning now, thanks redump.org.  smile

You could try ASDA supermarkets (uk) for brasso, order online, and maybe they'll send it at a reaonable price.

brasso & plexus IS A WASTE OF PLEXUS, sort of.

brasso is amazing for really badly scratched discs.

plexus is amazing also, but for your very precious un-scratched discs, and psp screens.

you won't get them looking as good as new if you brasso.

but if they are like 'mint' with some dirt, grease or whatever, polish will get them good but plexus will get them absolutely perfect, but only if they are technically perfect to begin with.

I actuall went to a cheep second hand shop, and went through all the ps2 discs, rejecting any scratched ones, but keeping anything I thought would be ok once polished, as a matter of fact out of about a hundred games I found about 10 that were just a bit dirty, but not scratched.

I have just got hold of a 7oz tin of Plexus Plastic Polish, the smell is gorgeous, a bit like smelling brand new plastic, similiair to selotape smell, but lots nicer. I will be dreaming of the smell all week, its so lovely smile YUM!

Only kidding, if brassoing really scratched discs - ISNT YOUR CUP OF TEA - but cleaning mint discs that may have got some greasy finger marks on, and your sick of regular aerosal polishes, that leave it looking less than perfect.

If you want dirty otherwise mint condition discs, looking and feeling like new again. Then get some Plexus Polish.

It's the only polish I would ever use on my psp 3000, that is still scratch free, and now its clean again too.

I could do with scanning the back of a ps2 disc I just Plexussed, I looked at it, and didn't seem to be scratched but was marked a bit, I cleaned it with Plexus and it looks brand new.

The polish was designed for Space Ships (Planes) smile and costs £12 for a 7oz tin (198g).

Simply put... YOU CAN'T BEAT IT (EVER).
