Hello and welcome, obtain your password here.

You have been given an account, you will gain a dumper status after estimated 4 disc submissions. Your first submission looks good, but please repost it once again in "Dumps" subforum. Happy holidays smile

I don't think gmail allows email names starting with a digit, that's what i read some day. But i have checked gmail myself, they are not allowing accounts with digits only! This account request must be a parody attempt.

Yeah, i wanted to expand this discussion to eventually handle everything we can need for future usage once and for all, but the pressure for a change to cue instead of gdi seems to be too high and all my words don't reach some listeners smile

Okay, i understand.

The single cuesheet variant was already implemented. Do you want to stick to that or change to 2cue variant?

Which "whole cuesheet logic" do you mean @F1ReB4LL ?

I am not trying to alter the cuesheet standard, we are talking about REM tags, which are not even specified in cuesheet standard if i understand it right.

Arrange an agreement with other tool devs and i will implement whatever you want, please relax.

Let the devs know about what has been said here, they can make they own considerations, we have no real affect on them smile

Honestly, I would be fine with what you suggest @F1ReB4LL but in the end the emulaton / mounting devs have to adapt their tools to that. Independently of what they would accept, if I developed such a tool myself I would rather prefer a global command which can be used on any system, not just one.

Let the devs know and arrange an adaptation, if they decided something I will go by that, its not a big deal.

"REM HIGH-DENSITY AREA" would be dreamcast exclusive, a global command would make more sense imho.

2xcues would be still dreamcast exclusive (without further REM commands)

You know that they start there because you are aware of that, but mounting tools do not know it.

A separator is not really needed. Anything between "REM" and traling "START LBA NUMBER" is to be treated as a plain comment or a COMMAND, which will be recognized if its called "SESSION NUMBER" or "LEAD-IN" or "LEAD-OUT" or whatever commands you want to have there.

F1ReB4LL wrote:

You need more commands, like REM LEAD-IN and REM LEAD-OUT to properly generate or insert the needed amount of sectors between the sessions/areas

For inserting, yes.
For generating, no.

We don't dump them at this point, and besides of that not all leadout sectors will be dumpable. Not sure if we ever will have them included. Maybe its better to concentrate on GD topic right now smile

I don't think setting a PREGAP line is the right solution.

We could stick to a single cue example and make other REM lines, stating the next LBA starting address, which also could allow us to dump and link other inaccessible disc areas like security rings and gaps between multiple sessions.

It could look like that:

REM SINGLE-DENSITY AREA START LBA *here number*
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (Track 1).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (Track 2).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:02:00
REM HIGH-DENSITY AREA START LBA *here number*
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (Track 3).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 03 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (Track 4).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 04 AUDIO
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:02:00
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (Track 5).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 05 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 00 00:00:00
    INDEX 01 00:03:00

Anything between Track2 end sector and REM HIGH-DENSITY AREA START LBA would be emulated as a GAP without having to set any pregap values and would not require extra FILE lines.

REM SECURITY AREA START LBA *here number*
FILE "Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 11 - February 2001 (USA) (*here anything*).bin" BINARY
  TRACK ?? MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

Not sure how to solve the "TRACK ?? MODE1/2352" part at this point, but there is probably a solution for that too. At this point its not a requirement.

As a start i began with this single-cue file alternative:
http://redump.org/disc/57702/

If it looks good to you i will update all remaining functions and all GD-ROM cuesheets.

As a backup i would still keep the gdi downloads, but if you think its completely pointless i will discard those.

So, I will come back to this topic since some people think this is my fault why it was not implemented yet.

Both variants: 2 cues & 1 cue can be accepted. I may code them both actually to avoid further bashing.

For the second alternative with a single cuesheet i want to have a clearness about following:

REM SINGLE-DENSITY AREA

SINGLE- or LOW-DENSITY ?

I fully replied to your origin topic concern.

Other topics you have mentioned past that is a concern of staff. They either need further discussing or are not as important to be added right now. I was working with Jackal on parent clone implementation, this is one of the topics that has heavier prority than stuff like https or wiki update.

What does it have to do with your topic "Dumps forum has a bunch of [Added] crap in it" ?

I've had a few mods tell me you're ignoring their messages to improve this site

I don't know who you are talking about and what messages you are referring to. I was never ignoring people. Besides of that you are starting a discussion about moving topics where i don't have a direct influnce at. Whenever i processed post submission i moved my shit right away to their respective history sections if they were cleared.

Stop that shit!

Why are you posting stuff like that around the whole internet and point it to my name? If mods who added them don't have forum editing rights they should at least leave a comment that the topic is officially added, otherwise me or other staff members will have to track down all disc edits and make sure everything was added before moving a topic. This is a whole double work.

Where do you have that detailed information from? And who are the other members you are grouped together?
