Those dumps should not be added as verification, dumps should be clean.

@johnsanc
I can surelly upload your flag example, its better than a questionmark i guess.

@Landcross
Thanks for your suggestion. I used that "weird Arabic sign" because there isn't an official one that represents all of the Arabic language dialects, and using one of those dialects as a representation for the entire language group is not correct IMO. Your linked flag represents one of many Arabic dialects, I would not want to use it TBH. But if questionmark flags have to vanish we may use your example.

It is supposed to make 5 loops and will finish reading at some point for sure.

Hi, I posted in the forum to get an account set up, got the link to obtain my password, clicked the link and entered my email but haven’t received the confirmation email yet. Is this process not instantaneous?

I don't know how the big box looks like, but i think its the correct one.
Its a german seller, they should sell german version.

One of the sellers from this listing has pictures which match my disc.
Seller's name: GameShop Eichhorn

It should be in general the correct listing.

Backcover does not have a barcode, it must be on the big box, which i don't have.

I have a DVD IBM PC game with what could be Ring Protech. Any advice how to dump it?

DIC does not support those discs yet, it will abort reading as soon as protected area is reached.

One could use isobuster and replace those sectors by '0x55' bytes but we have not deceided yet if it should be '0x55's or can be '0x00's for example. If we consider '0x55' bytes then sarami could probably code DIC with that.

My talk to sarami about one of those discs:

I never came back to this topic though.

This is my account request topic. I've used that link provided two times now, but did not receive said mail.

I received this message from you via email. You do have a dumper status already and your Last visit was: Yesterday 20:31:16

Were you ever able to dump a dreamcast disc successfully before, using the named drive?

"Last Recorded Address" should not any matter, the only thing that matters is TOC.

If incorrect 16th byte should be an error, CDmage is correct.

Ecma-130 defines 0x00, 0x01 and 0x02

So, maybe you can adjust DIC with that?

If sector mode is not 0x00 or 0x01 or 0x02 then treat it as error. And in addition to that check mode 0x00 according to Ecma-130.

We should check CD specifications. If this byte is specified to be either 0x01 or 0x02 and nothing else then it should be treated as an error, otherwise maybe make it a warning.

Ok so i will put in the error count from .img_EdcEcc.txt file. What if there are warnings and 0 errors?

If warnings reflect different or wrong subheaders only (i cannot think of any other case right now) then we can have an additional note about warnings in database.

In my opinion:

CDmage does too much checks, different subheaders should not be flagged as an error.

edcchk cannot differentiate between data and audio sectors if you scan the whole image containing audio tracks, and if i remember correctly it treats empty data sectors as non-data, which would be incorrect, because it has to be an error.

sarami wrote:

DIC looks the invalid mode sector on non-error data sector and incomplete data sector on error data sector. In this case, this disc has 1 error.

That should be correct.
